Cotton Top Tamarins

Live: Columbia, in tropical forests
Diet: Tamarins eat mostly fruit, insects, spiders, small vertebrates,birds' eggs, seeds, nectar, and gum.
Known For: poof of white hair on their heads (The rest of their body is covered with a brown and white fur. Their head is round with large eyes and nostrils that point sideways.)
Height: The average adult is 23 inches to 31 inches long from the head to the tail An average adult weighs around 400 - 600 grams.
Tail: 10-15 inches
Groups: They can be multi-male and multi-female in the wild.
Lifespan: 13.5 years average in the wild, up to 22 years in captivity.
Status: Endangered due to forest removal, collectors, the pet trade and biomedical research.

Reproduction: The cotton-top tamarin usually gives birth to twins.
