A brief explantion of ADSL/Broadband

ADSL/Broadband is a High Speed Internet Technology, that works over your normal telephone line by making use of the frequencies not used for normal Telephone calls.

ADSL Has Many Advantages over Standard 56k Dial Up or ISDN:
ADSL Provides Connections up to 40 times Faster than Standard Modems.
ADSL Provides Always On Connections without tying up your phone line.
ADSL is a unmetered service, simply pay your monthly fee and use the Internet as much or as little as you like without running up phone bills.

How To Help Get Teynham Exchange ADSL Enabled

In order for BT to upgrade the Teynham Exchange. Sufficient demand needs to registered, in order for the cost of upgrading the exchange to be viable.
Earlier this year BT Launched a Demand Registration Scheme. This enables residents and companies living in an area which is not ADSL enabled, to register their interest in the technology.
Once sufficient demand has been registered BT will then upgrade the exchange. Many exchanges have been reviewed by BT and have been given a target number of registrations that have to be reached for the exchange to be enabled.

The Teynham Exchange trigger is

300

and

126

registrations have been recorded so far.

Only

174

registrations now required.
