"Come here." She whispered, winking at him seductively.
He obeyed without question, without doubt, without fear for he trusted her with
all his heart.
Climbing next to her on the luxurious bed, he sighed into her neck. "I
don't want you to leave..."
She smiled faintly. "But I must, my love. Not to worry though, I won't be
gone long this time. But you know I am needed."
"Yes." He replied softly, his tongue snaking out from his red lips
and coming in contact with her quivering neck. "I'll miss you..."
"I know." She whispered, touching his hand gently. "I know."

"Follow me," he told her, smiling as he reached down to
guide her over the tree stump and through the thickly wooded forest. The trees
were large and intimidating, but she wasn't scared, because he was there.
Brian. With his tossled dirty blonde hair, mismatched
clothes, and addiction to portable cd players
blasting the latest punk music into his long, dorky-looking ears, he had the
tendency to confuse just about everyone who stood in his path in life. She only
understood him half the time, and that was more than most.
"Come on, Rebecca." He laughed, beckoning for her to follow him
through the trees.
"Where are we going?"
"You'll see," he replied, smiling down at her.
They walked briskly until they reached a break in the woods. Rebecca looked
around her and drew in her breath. It was the ocean, the tide slapping gently
on large rocks that dotted the sandy shore.
Brian grinned again and took her hand, bringing her over to a large rock where
they sat.
"It's beautiful." She said, watching the myriad sunset in awe.
Removing his headphones slowly, he scooted closer to her and wrapped his gangly
arm around her shoulder.
"That's why I brought you here," he told her, catching her lips in a
kiss.
They stayed that way for a long time, until the sun's final rays swept into the
horizon and night had fallen once more.

“Come here.” They chanted, their cold voices drifiting
through the air like forbidden silk. “Come show us your stupidity. Admit that
you are not worthy of our love, of our guidance.”
Glaring, I attempted to ignore them, fixing my eyes instead on the sun’s
brilliant rays in the distance, wishing so fervently that I too were a bright beam in the faraway horizon.
“Cinna…” They were bitingly cold now, their hot
stares searing my skin. “On your knees, fool. Beg to
redeem yourself like a dog and maybe we’ll give you a bone.”
Transfixed by the airy sunlight, I allowed myself to filter their harsh words.
Be strong, Cinna, I told myself reassuringly. Be
strong.
“Coward!” One of them quipped, lashing at me with a
length of rope. “Do you dare to disobey us? Do you realize that we can make
your life a living hell?”
I turned slowly, facing them without hiding how I despised them. “You already have.”
