The two walked through an ancient forest, the trees wider then family caravan wagons that humans always used to travel. They wandered off the path for quite some time now, the towns and its inhabitants lingering further and further away, the sounds of the busy towns dying in the distance. The child looked about their surroundings as they walked, then back up to the man.
"I've never been this far... Where are we father?" The elf stopped abruptly. His eyes glowed with anger and hatred. The child shivered in fear as he took a step toward her.
"Father?" A heavily ringed slender hand came down and across her face, completely knocking her off her feet. The girl sat up slowly, putting a hand to her face, finding it dripping with blood. Her eyes widened as she stared down at her bloody fingers, then up at her father.
"W-what did I do?" She asked, her voice quivering.
"Never call me that...,” he hissed at her angrily.
"B-but, that's what you are," she replied, her eyes filling with tears.
"I am not your father, and I will never be... You are an abomination in our lives!" He screamed at the child. She looked down at her hands, one covered in blood, the other scrapped raw from the fall.
"I... I don't understand," she whispered.
"You are no elf, you are human, but they will not take you away from us... you are nothing in anyone’s eyes,"
Tears steadily streamed down her cheeks as he spoke. She stood up wiping her eyes with her bloodied hand. She looked up at her father with sad eyes, her features slumped with the knowledge that she was nothing... especially to her father.
"You're wrong!" She began to shout, taking a step forward, "If I wasn't someone, then you wouldn't be here yelling at me!" Her face was smeared with blood that dripped from her chin.
I am here to leave you to the animals, because no one wants you!" He took a step back, then turned his back toward her, suddenly sprinting away.
"Papa! Don't leave me here alone!"

Angelic sat up, gasping. Her breath's were heavy as she sat eyes wide with terror, a hand reaching out to a mans silhouette fading into the trees. Her breath began to steady as her hand settled to her lap; there was no one to reach out for. The sun peaked over the distant mountains, a slight fog sitting over the ground around them. She watched the sun as it slowly made its way over the mountains. It was so peaceful in the forest, birds chirping in the distance, the trees glistening with the morning dew. Everything was peaceful, except a few given things, she thought to herself. Everything living together in a never-ending cycle. Everything had its place, but where did she belong?
- Apparently no where -
She shook her head at the thought, then stood up. Her Armour glistened as it sat against a nearby tree. She stood staring at it thoughtfully for only a moment then continued with the morning chores -
- I can't let it happen to anyone else -
Angelic stopped again, placing a hand on the satchel of gold tied to her waist. She needed to reach them before they reached their destination -
- Scratch that, his destination -
The day dragged on as Angelic walked, following the path that still lingered from the bounty hunters constant run. It still bothered her how the path was created from a constant run. There was absolutely no sign of him coming to a complete stop –
- although there where a few times when he tried to back track, but I’m not that much of a fool -
- She stopped before a great iron gate, a mighty stone building further behind it. The sun came down upon Angelic’s midnight hair hard; it heated up her armored body to an uncomfortable level. Sweat beading on her brow as she looked up at the building. Something didn’t feel right about it, check that, this place gives me the creeps, she thought to herself. She was sweating, yet her whole body shivered as she observed the crumbling building. A strange stench emanated from its walls, adding to its overall dark demeanor. Her instincts told her not to enter the building and they were never wrong. She reached out to the iron gates, despite her screaming instincts. She grasped the cool iron then gave it a quick push, one half of the gate creaking quickly open. The stench grew stronger as the gate swung open -
- wait, that's not any stench -
- to a figure charging down the dusty path from the buildings huge wooden doors. The figure continued toward her almost as if it was completely oblivious to her presence. Angelic took a step away from the opened gate, placing a hand on her sword hilt. It's him, Angelic thought to herself inching her sword from its sheath. As he drew closer, she noticed another that he carried on his shoulder. It wasn't the elf they had met earlier, but there was still something wrong with the aura -
- maybe because they're both covered in blood -
Angelic took another step away from the gate, sword completely drawn now. Moments passed as she waited for him to reach her position. His steps were heavy yet constant. He walked straight passed Angelic, never even glancing at her as he passed. He walked straight into the forest, fading into the dense trees. Angelic stood for a moment, a bit bewildered by Duade and the body he held in his arms -
- His aura... it's all screwed up. Who was that girl? -
- A million thoughts went through her mind, but it was the unexplainable feeling that emanated from him when he passed by.
"HEY! There you are!" Flitz zipped down before Angelic's face, nearly flying straight into her. No wonder it was so peaceful all morning, Angelic thought.
"I think I found Duade, but he's pretty far along a nearby river!" She breathed heavily. Angelic shook her head, then began in the direction of the two bloodied figures.
"HEY! You’re going the wrong way!" She shouted close behind. Angelic held up a hand, quickly silencing the fairy. The two continued on through the deep forest quickly and quietly, the fairy constantly pestering the paladin of what direction to go. The forest was deathly quiet; the two only hearing the half-elf's footsteps and the buzzing of Flitz's wings.
"Seriously, why are we going this-" Angelic put a finger to her lips. Her footsteps grew even softer as she stepped behind a number of bushes. She knelt down, peeking carefully through its branches and leaves. A short distance away, she saw Duade digging with his bare hands and a young girl leaning against a tree. Her head faced away from her and Duade, she seemed as if asleep in the midday sun. The blood dried and flaked off their bodies as the sun beat down on them, yet it was Duade's muffled speech that attracted Angelic's attention the most.
"What's he doing?" Flitz whispered in her ear, "And who is that!?" She hissed. Angelic held up a finger to her lips again, she craned her neck, hoping to catch a word or two.
"- - - - I'm so sorry - - - - - have...... done - - - - - - forgive........ sister....." *
It was obvious, that now was not the time to right the wrong that he had committed. He was still a person, a soul with emotions and although his wrong was great, he needed time to find peace. Turning away from the scene, Angelic traveled back toward the very building he and his sibling had emerged from. Perhaps it wasn't the time to confront him, but there were other matters to attend to -
- like fixing the wrongs that other people create and don't seem to be able or even willing to correct -
*Just to say, the dashes mean a longer moment of time then the dots.
"It's been awhile since we've been out like this hasn't it?" A child asked a tall man. He was slender and pale skinned, elaborately dressed in long robes that draped heavily over his body. His ears were pointed, much like the little girls, yet much more so then hers. The child looked up at the elf eyes glistening with happiness and innocence, but the man never glanced down at her.
