"Part Nineteen a: Broken Shields"
Naomi Hwang

The morning came too slowly for Angelic. The night was one of horrid remembrance of her supposedly family, the tears that she had fought to keep within, the scars that burned her back and shoulders. The entire night, she had been unable to sleep, to meditate, to be at peace. Her mission was even clearer after that night however. She had grown up hating her family blood line. Vengeance growing within her, until the fateful day -

- The day Helm had called my name -

Still under the cover of her cloak, she still struggled to relax and fall asleep. The course wool of the cloak rubbed against her left cheek, making it itch. She reached up and itched it quickly, yet her hand lingered there, tracing the long vertical scar that bisected her cheek. It was an aged scar, from a number of years ago, yet the memory of how she had gotten it was still just as clear as the sky on a hot sunny day. Her heart burned with anger, hatred, and a want for vengeance. Yet she knew that carrying out these feelings would not solve anything. All she could do was live on and carry out her goal, her quest, her life long mission.

A few tears rolled down her cheek from her puffy eyes as a bird chirped in the distance. Quickly wiping away the tears with the back of her hands, Angelic peaked out from beneath her cloak. She squinted at the sun that still hung low along the horizon. With a sigh of relief, Angelic sat up uncover herself from the cloak. The night was over and her journey could begin again. With a yawn, the morning went by rather quickly as she did her daily prayer, armor donning, and eating.

I've got to start moving faster, she thought to herself, I've got to reach them before they get to wherever that bounty hunter needs to take her. Her pace quickened as she followed the path of clues left behind.
