"Part Eleven: The Loss of Innocence"
Rebecca Schalch

Antirne crashed through the underbrush carelessly; extending her arms away from her body in a new burst of shame and self-loathing. She continued running, the low twigs nad branches scratching her face and body; snagging her hair and tearing her clothes. She stumbled over a tree root, crying out as she fell to her stomach. She lay there for a moment trying to catch her breath, every muscle ached and her eyes were sore with the constant flow of tears that would never right what she had wronged.

Slowly she took a deep breath and sat up. She dragged her legs up to her chest and hugged them fiercely, isolating herself off from the outside world. I must go into exile, she suddenly thought. This new information suddenly dawned on her; but she did not cry anymore; Tears are for the innocent, and I don't deserve the privledge of even pretending to be that anymore, she thought bitterly. Wiping away the last of her forgotten tears, she stood firmly, her body erect in the dark moon light, and began to walk. The wieght of the world having now become hers to shoulder for the rest of her existance.
