- So much blood -
- It's so hot - Angelic felt a cold trickle on her forehead. Its icy touch seemed to cool off her entire body. Angelic struggled to open her eyes, wanting to know what touched her face. But her body refused to move, revealing her level of fatigue. Angelic continued to drift in the darkness, yet it was as if she had stopped moving in a particular direction. Angelic suddenly began to hear voices in the distance. Concentrating on her senses, the voices grew louder. She felt a pressure against her cheek. Angelic wanted to swat it away, but her strength was nowhere to be found. Soon her other senses began to send messages to her, eventually allowing her to decipher between them.
- SHE'S - A shrill voice began, Angelic grit her teeth.
- Coming with us?! - Angelic wanted to reach up and slap the person who shrieked, but her arm wouldn't move. Her strength was completely drained, all she could do was endure. Angelic struggled to remember what had caused her strength to leave her. The one voice continued chattering away as Angelic concentrated on her memeories. A pool of blood with a man in the center of it, feeding the pool with his own blood flashed in her mind. Wait, that's. . . suddenly the words of Helm filled her mind, echoing off her other thoughts and memories.
- May this man find trust in you as you have in me - Angelic felt a new strength fill her body. Her body felt heavy as her muscles began to feel firm and strong.
"I think she's moving!" The voices were much closer now, almost next to her ear. Angelic let out a long breath, as if she hadn't taken a breath in years. Finally opening her eyes, Angelic saw a young man no older than eighteen or nineteen staring at her as if fallen in love. Angelic realized that she was off her feet and in the arms of the awestricken youth. Her eyes widened suddenly as she struggled in his arms, suddenly falling to her back. Angelic rolled away from the confused man standing up and grasping for her sword, only to find that the atmosphere had replaced it. Suddenly she realized that most of her armour was missing as well. Damn it! She cursed, gritting her teeth. Angelic glared at the man as he chuckled in return.
"Yu'r finally awake," he smiled. Angelic's gaze only hardened in response. The man was young, yet well built and tall. He had a number of tattoo's and scars on his arms and legs, yet none seemed to mean anything. He had dropped a number of pouches and bags on the ground, yet they all seemed to look the same. The man still smiled at her. He kneeled down slowly, by one of the bags picking up a sheathed sword.
- Wait, thats mine! Blast it! - The man stood up holding out the sword by its sheath. Without hesitation, Angelic grabbed the hilt pulling it from its resting place, quickly swinging it around to the mans throat.
"Whoa there lass! Aye ain't goin' to 'urt you," he began, raising his hands up.
"Who are you and what have you done with the rest of my things?" She demanded, gripping her sword tightly. The man smiled calmly, feeding Angelic's anger. Why the hell is he smiling?! She gripped the hilt more firmly, almost turning her knuckles white.
"Duade, Duade Oregoth," he pointed down at the one of the bags, "and that ones yu'r's and yu'r armour are 'n those, including yu'r own," he pointed at two of his own bags. Angelic dared not glance down at the bags. Moments passed when suddenly, the pouch around Duade's neck shifted. Angelic shoved him back holding her Broadsword in her right hand behind her, with her left arm up. The stance was her own design, one that took many days to create and perfect.
A tiny head popped out from the pouch, Duade completely ignoring her.
"Hey, hey! Stop bouncing the pouch around!" The head shrieked up at Duade.
- That voice -
"O'r fri'nd is awake," Duade replied, never glancing down at her. The head turned toward Angelic, almost examining her. The tiny face glared suddenly in anger.
"If she doesn't want your help, then why don't we leave her?!"
- Wait, they helped me? - The pool of blood flashed in her mind.
- May this man find trust in you as you have in me - Angelic lowered her sword. She quickly sheathed it as her muscles relaxed. The head in the pouch watched her, anger growing.
"I must apologize for my behavior, I allowed my imagination to get the better of me," Angelic began, her face still stern. Yet her eyes were completely apologetic. The two stood surprised at her sudden apology. The tiny girl quickly climbed out of the pouch, revealing her wings and flew up to Angelic's face, hands to her hips.
"So why do you trust us now?!" the fairy shrieked. Angelic gritted her teeth for a moment.
"You are fairy-kin no?"
"Yes, yes I am," the fairy replied.
"I have never seen or heard a fairy lie," the fairy quickly flew back over to Duade, landing on his shoulder. Duade smiled, glancing over at the fairy.
"What is her name?" Angelic questioned.
"MY name is none of your business," the fairy replied, crossing her arms and turning her back toward Angelic.
" 'er name is Flitz," Duade replied soon afterword. Flitz turned toward Daude, giving him a kick on the chin. She flew down into the pouch shaking with anger. The pouch shook with her anger. Angelic watched the pouch shake with concern.
"I hope I haven't upset the little one,"
"Don't worry abou' it, she gets upset all the time," Duade replied smiling.
"NO I DON'T!" A muffled voice shrieked. Both Duade and Angelic chuckled for a moment. Angelic knelt down and pulled out her armour from her bag.
"I must know," Duade began, also removing armour from his bags and handing them to Angelic, "What is your name? I have never met a half-elf of your colors and beauty," Angelic paused for a moment, than stood up to face him.
"I am Angelic Golomna, paladin of Water Deep," she said, placing a fist to her heart. Duade nodded, smiling with thanks. Moments passed as Angelic put on her armour in silence.
"So wh're 're you travellin' to?" Duade asked as Angelic strapped on her final gauntlet, glancing up at Duade.
"I travel to no particular destination, yet I go were I am needed," Duade nodded in response. Angelic stood up to facing Duade, armour glistening in the sunlight.
"Thank you for your help," Angelic gave a deep bow than stood up tall, her sword clacking against her armour, "May Helm guide and watch over you on your journey."
Angelic floated through a world of darkness. It was hot and humid as she drifted through the abyss trying to gather her thoughts. Her body felt lighter than a feather, yet it rested heavily. Where am I? she thought, feeling herself floating in some unknown direction. Wait, I'm not floating, somethings holding me. Angelic struggled to remember what had happened. Only to see flashes of her past and blood. Memories that she had struggled to leave behind.
