Here are pictures from our second day. As I promised, here is the other side of my room. Note the sliding door. Next is our bathroom which is entirely made out of plastic. I hate the toilet. It has two settings (big and small flushes) and they are both LOUD. The shower is also weird. We have to turn on the hot water from a switch in the kitchen. But anyway. Next is breakfast this morning. The girl in the red shirt center is my roommate Mamie. She hasn't taken any Japanese. I can't imagine that. O_o Next we have me with my oh-so-wonderful bike and helmet. I'm sure the style will catch on any day now. We all rode together down to the Al Plaza and bought groceries (and I got a Gackt live concert video ^o^ yeah!!!!! and some cute Hyde pics). It was really gaijin on parade. ^^ Lots of people stared. At the supermarket an old man said "harro" (=hello with a Japanese accent) to me and two high school boys also said "harro" on the ride back. I said hello to all three. This next pic is at the supermarket. This is one of my new friends holding up a carton of coffee. It was in with the juice, milk, and tea. Cartoned coffee, yum... I did not buy any. Last of all is the sign outside of McDonald's where we ate lunch. I had an ice tea, honey lemon jelly (a lemonade tasting gelatin), and a double cheeseburger. Thus far I have had no trouble understanding people (most of what they have said though is "welcome," "this is ... yen," and "thank you very much," but I did ask a guy if he had melon bread for a girl who can't speak Japanese but really wanted some melon bread). Well, that is all for today. Until next time.
