Home Page - Various Game Reviews&Hints...

Hallo! Welcome to Halfstar's HOMEPAGE! This is diana-samma's (my creator) Gaming Page, where most surfers can find short reviews, hints, and ~sometimes~ even walkthroughs for all the games we have played. Please enjoy your stay here, and have a good time! :)

Okay, enough with the happiness. Yeah, yeah, luv, luv, whatever! On to the games: (Let's hope I get enough patience to actually put these things in ORDER at some point...)

*Pokemon Ruby/Sapphire*
A MAJORLY better version of the Pokemon games. I currently own Sapphire, and am on the way to convincing my sister's b/f to buy Ruby so we can trade and see the differences. :) That will be fun. Since it's now on GBA, the graphics are ALOT better. In the beginning of the game you recieve RUNNING SHOES, which make you go faster (like a bike) when you hold B while moving around. Since the game takes place on dry land for most of the first half of all the Pokemon games, this was a real pro for me. I used to get really peeved at my games when I started them because you moves SO FREIKIN' SLOW! You also get your bike earlier, and now you have two to choose from: MACHO BIKE and ACRO BIKE. I use ACRO BIKE most of the time because it can do wheelies and 'bunny hops' etc., whereas MACHO BIKE is just faster and harder to move (Turning corners takes practice). Also, this game is alot more interactive with the Pokemon. You can give them Berries, Vitamins, and a new addition - POKE'BLOCKS! Those are really cool, though I'm still working on figuring out their mystery. -_- .oO(hmm...) Haha. :-P Anyways, I would definately suggest buying this pair, or, if your a little short on $, I would suggest buying Ruby. Sapphire has a couple issues/bugs, and it makes it harder to play. But Ruby version would work out fine if you choose the water-type Mudkip as your first pokemon, I beleive, because then you have (a) The first Gym Leader beat because she has Stone-types, AND you have TEAM MAGMA down because their Fire-type pokemon are weak against yours! And I figured all this out without buying the version too... ah well, I'll get it soon enough :)

If you have any questions/comments, please E-Mail me at my sn - Dianalilwashu@netscape.net Thanx!!! ;-P

~LEPPA BERRY: Restors 10PP of a single attack
~ORAN BERRY: Restors 10HP of a single Pokemon

~NANAB BERRY: POKE'BLOCK Ingredient
~WEPEAR BERRY: POKE'BLOCK Ingredient
~PINAP BERRY: POKE'BLOCK Ingredient

(b) New POKE'BALLS:
~PREMIER BALL: Some strange Poke'Ball stores give to you when you have bought alot of stuff at one time. (I got one when I bought fifteen Poke'Balls) They aren't entirely useless, because I've used them before, but they aren't as good as even the lowly Poke'Ball itself.
~REPEAT BALL: Use when catching pokemon that you have already caught before

(c) TMs I have never heard of & Their uses:
~TM08 BULK UP: Boosts ATTACK & DEFENSE
~TM09 BULLET SEED: Shoots 2-5 seeds in a row at opponent
~TM34 SHOCK WAVE: Electric attack that never misses
~TM39 ROCK TOMB: "Stops foe from moving with rocks. May lower SPEED" Is what the Game says, but I'm not sure. I haven't used it yet, obviously.
~HM08 DIVE: Dives underwater? I'm not sure about this one either, but that's because I haven't gotten to it yet. ^^;

(d) POKE'BLOCKs:
okay, this gets a little confusing. These are little candies you can make from berries and feed to your Pokemon. You Pokemon may like one kind and dislike another. It's *obviously* a BAD idea to give your Pokemon alot of candies that he/she/it doesn't like. I have some examples of POKEBLOCKS listed below:
___________________________
_________(COOL)____________

(TOUGH)___________(BEAUTY)_

___(SMART)_____(CUTE)______

This ^ is the best picture I could make on here as a (bad) example of the picture of each Pokemon's CONDITION (Ignore the _s, k?). Here are the codings for each:
Cool: SPICY
Tough: SOUR
Beauty: DRY
Smart: BITTER
Cute: SWEET

Now here are the POKE'BLOCKS that I have created and what they each raise:
Indigo: DRY&SOUR
Blue: DRY
Purple: DRY&SPICY
Brown: BITTER&SWEET
Red: SPICY
Yellow: SOUR
Pink: SWEET

(e) Pictures!!! Weee!

This is a picture of the boy character in Ruby/Sapphire walking through puddles in a forest. Don't you see how much better it is compared to the old versions where all the graphics sucked outside of battle? Look where he's waling, you can see his tiny waves as he steps through the puddle, and you can even see his reflection!!! How cool is THAT!?
