FLCL (Fooly Cooly/Furi Kuri) is a hilarious anime about a boy named Naota who gets banged on the head by a Vespa Girl named Haruko and is mixed up in a strange event. His life has turned from a daily, boring routine to a bizarre, outrageous yet hilarious and embarrassing routine. With robots attacking the city, having a personal robot as a maid, a strange girl who talks nonsense to your cat, and a friend whose burning down houses from a belief of a video game. Hmm, interesting.
FLCL is, at the same time, confusing and strange. The very last episode sums things up a bit but still doesn't make sense in a way. Just watch it and find out.
Haruhara Haruko is from another planet out there, she is the First-class Patrol Officer of the Galaxy Space Police Brotherhood. She is nineteen years old even though people mistaken her for early twenties. Very bizarre, full of life, action, spirit, but is secretly evil. Naota Nandaba has an older brother who goes to America and he looks up to him. He isn't very good at baseball but still loves it and practices. Until one day, he gets ran over by a Vespa Girl, also known as Haruko and then, strange things began forming out of his forehead. The first one was a robot named Canti then the next was another robot that Canti fought against. Now, Naota's life has gone from "boring and lame" to "unusual yet ignored."
. Mamimi Samejima was Naota's brother's ex girlfriend. She smokes a lot, doesn't have a real home and is usually found hanging around Naota or underneath a bridge. She loves playing a video game called, Fire Starter and believing Canti is God of the Black Flames. She likes fire and goes around starting fires without noticing or realizing how bad they are. Canti is a robot that popped out of Naota's head in the very beginning once he got hit by Haruko. He seems to bond close to Naota, even though in the beginning, Naota didn't want to bond with ANY of the stranger like Haruko. Canti and Naota merge together in battles sometimes and Naota is able to (sorta) control Canti and defeat the weird robots. Mr. Nandaba is Naota's father. He is the one that introduces the term "Furi Cury" or "Fooly Cooly" to the audience. He is a real pervert and has a major likings towards Haruko-san. He's always trying to sneak on her and he's the owner of a baker store.
