Aya Mikage was just like a normal high school girl whom always wore the latest fashion, hair style and trends. She sung kareoke with her friends and lives in a house with her mom, dad, and twin brother Aki. Until one day she goes to her grandfather's house for a 16th birthday celebration and finds all her family members at the table in black and silent as if it were a funeral. Never has Aya and Aki seen their family together like this. Her grandfather tells them to open a box in front of them and so they do and a burst of light shines as Aki gets sliced everywhere somehow and Aya begins to see images of strange things with blood.

As soon as she knew it, her whole family was after her, trying to kill her. Another family, the Aogiri's have taken Aya in as soon as they rescued her. They explain to her that she is one of the descendent from a Celestial Maiden like the legend all around Asia. The Aogiris too, have Celestial Maiden Blood. Aya then has to go on a quest to look for the Celestial Maiden's Hagoromo before the Maiden inside named Ceres comes out and goes on a rampage after her family as an act of revenge for stealing her hagaromo many years ago. Aya also falls in love with Tooya, a mysterious man whom lost his past memories and can only get it back if he works with Aya's family in capturing her.

Unfortunately, not only does Aya have to watch out for her family after her, the protection of Tooya against her family since he betrayed them to stay on Aya's side, and to find the Hagaromo, but she has to watch out for two new problems: her twin brother Aki who was the man who raped Ceres long ago and caused her to bear his children and for microscopic viruses that the Mikages are sending out through out the country to find all the C-Genomes (Celestial Maiden Blood).

Aya Mikage is the twin sister of Aki Mikage. She loves to sing kareoke with her friends and has such high spirits. She is like an average teenage girl, always worrying about her looks. She falls in love with Tooya, a handsome devil and is the descendant of a Celestial Maiden from the Asian legends.

Aki Mikage is Aya Mikage's twin brother. He is a laid back, music loving boy whose usually trapped inside the hotel building of his family to be kept away from Aya and as a source for his family to overrule. He has no clue what's going on but knows that he has to watch over his little sister. He is the descendant of the local farmer who raped Ceres long ago and the other half still longs to have Ceres back in this new host. Aki is struggling now to keep that presence within to protect Aya.

Tooya is a mysterious man of early 20s who lost his memories somehow and the only link he had were the Mikages. He met with Aya's cousin and he offered a deal that he could not let down: Serve them for his memory. He became a useful bodyguard and hunter, until he fell in love with his prey and continued protecting her. Eventually, he gets his memories back and more tragedy occurs but most of all, Tooya has a mysterious bloodline in his history and has unnatural abilities.

Yuuhi Aogiri is an amazing chief and loves to cook. He is a great martial artist with his one foot long chopsticks that he also uses for cooking. He falls in love with Aya through the grace of Ceres and tries his best to protect her no matter what. He doesn't hold back his feelings in most situations and gives in, even though he knows the outcomes. He knows he won't have Aya but still pursues and tries to be there for her when times are bad.

Ceres is the Celestial Maiden from long ago whose robes and hagaromo had been stolen by a local farmer who spotted her taking a bath from the heavens. She now seeks revenge on the Mikage family for having her endure such pain. Now that her spirit hadn't rest in piece, she reincarnates herself through every female generations and awakens on the day she turns sixteen. That is why the Mikage always performed a sacrifice ceremony on the sixteenth birthday of a new born girl.

Shiso is the loca who raped Ceres and made her his unhappy bride. He has a disturbing obsession over Ceres, so strong, that he too reincarnated himself into male generations but not as much as Ceres. Luckily, he chose Aki's host since Aki and Aya are both twins. He lurks the streets for the same woman who killed him many years ago.

Suzumi Aogiri is a beautiful woman with Celestial Blood who teaches a dance class. Her husband died and her unborn child died soon after. Just before she was to commit suicide, she was stopped by Yuuhi who shared the same pain because he lost his older brother, the only one who cared for him. So then on, she made it her goal to always watch over Yuuhi and be there for him.

Mrs. Q is a hilarious character who seems strangely deformed. She is supportive in a funny sense and has a great sense of humor even when things are terrible. She is mostly a driver for the Aogiris and kinda like a servant for Suzumi.
