Dragonlet is my newest pattern. This baby dragon is 26" long. The pattern was created for my local Cloth Doll Group. Spokane D.O.L.L.S.. The tail, wings, and toes are wired for poseability. Magnus is the firstborn. he was created in white and then painted. he has Quartz Crystal Chips for teeth. He has 43 individual spine scales in 5 sizes down his back.

Challenge dolls
I entered my first challenge in Febuary 2004. I entered this fair in Mary Tresslers Uncommon Folk Valentines chalenge. I used the pattern she provided and wrote an origonal poem as the entry had to have a poem. My boyfriend made the bow from a chopstick and the arrow is from a toothpick.
Since the Challenge she has been modifed. her bow and arrow were replaced with flowers and she has flowers and ribbons in her garland.

UPDATE 3-6-05 This doll was adopted by my Grandmother. she now has a place of honor in her house.

Oh Cupid was to blame
For all those divorces
His arrow had no aim
He even hurt some horses

The Fates reviewed the data
The divorce rate was too high
They put fort a test
And watched the arrows fly

A Cupid with no aim
Leaves much to be desired
Her arrows flew straight
And that's why she was hired !

Ramona take two
This is a close up of Ramona's face. I find it invaluable to have close up of a dolls face. With Ramona I was trying for a different doll but after I got her face finished she cried out to be a gypsy. she didn't want to be the proper lady I had intended. The long braid of hair was by my boyfriend's request

Ramona the Gypsy
Ramona was designed for a class I tought to some friends in June 2004. She is my own pattern. It was fun to design a compleate pattern and then write up instructions for her. I hope to eventually publish her when I go into the doll pattern buisness.
She is 18 inches tall and can stand on her own. her boots are painted on. her costume is compleatly removeable. Her hair is needle-felted on. She is good friends with Jasper. Her arms are jointed

Jasper Drake the Pirate
Jasper Drake the Pirate is actually a privateer. He was created for a challenge for my local doll group. the challenge was to make a doll using only two colors for the clothing. I got the colors Blue and Beige. The pattern is my own. He stands about 18 inches tall. his hair is needle-felted on. I am pleased that his face came out looking male. He is my first attempt at a male doll. His costume is authentic down to his period under drawers. He has little alluminum buttons that were hand crafted for me by my boyfriend. His sword is spring steel although it isn't sharpened, the scabard is copper painted black. Every piece of his clothing is removeable becouse the little buttons are funtional. He runs around barefoot on deck to have better traction on the rolling ocean.

Dragons
This is a picture of my first dragons. They are of my own design. it took about 2 days from concept drawing to begining drafting to a finished dragon. The red one came first and she is about 13 inches from nose to tail. the blue one joined her soon becouse she looked lonly. The blue one has since left the nest and the red one will follow him soon becouse they need to be together. The red one has sheer wings. The blue one has beaded horns.

my first dolls part two
My second doll was "I dream of Flying" by Patti LaValley. I made him into a hobbit by giving him furry feet. I made him an aviator's costume and toy biplane. He was a gift to my boyfriend and now spends his days gaurding the model collection of 1:72 airplanes. he sits by the biplanes.

my first dolls
I started making soft sculpture dolls in the early part of 2001. My first doll was "Woman" by Kith and Kin. she stands about 3 feet tall. The costume she is wearing is my take on a costume from "Gangs of New York." The corset is boned and laces up the back. the kimono is a full kimono. The costume wasn't origonaly made for her but it fits her fairly well.
