Persona Appearance:
T'lobl is a strong, fit man for one his age, with dark brown hair now streaked with silver, green eyes, and a strong, straight nose. The wrinkles and greying of hair that age has given him do not make him look feebler or weaker; instead, they give him a look of nobility, and indeed his is the face of the aristocrat. It is careworn, but it has the arrogance that his position entitles him to, and the composure and confidence that is necessary for one of his rank. His face radiates leadership and character, with his handsome features, and he has an air about his six foot frame that shows self-possesion and intelligence. He is not overly muscled, as he is middle-aged now, but he is still as strong as ever, if padded by a little excess flesh. He doesn't usually bother to change out of his riding gear, so most days he is seen wearing Wherhide jackets, pants, and boots, not the finery typical of some Weyrleaders.
Persona Personality:
T'lobl might be proud and arrogant, but he is also intelligent and steadfast. He is one who perseveres, and quitting is not a word he can comprehend. He loathes those who give up without a struggle, and indeed his persistence and stubbornness make him a formidable opponent and a valuable ally. T'lobl is also a man of tradition; he was raised and taught in the old ways, and he believes in them firmly. He disapproves thoroughly of female blueriders, only tolerates female greenriders, and in general thinks women are best on gold or not as riders at all. He has a great deal of color pride, too; mention blueriding wingseconds or brown wingleaders, and you'll probably fixed with a piercing, dissapproving stare.
T'lobl is a fair man, though. While he does think that women are best in non-combatent positions, if a woman can prove herself the equal of a man, he will treat her with the same amount of respect. He loved his former Weyrmate and Weyrwoman, though she was far older than he; she was strong of character and of a good and loving nature. He nearly worshipped her, and the loss has hit him hard. For months afterwards, he was barely capable of handling day-to-day affairs, and his wingsecond, D'verish, had to do so. However, he has recovered somewhat, and having a partner other than Xianine, whom he thoroughly dissapproves of, has helped him come back to himself.
Persona History:
T'lobl was born and reared in Atora, from a typical greenflight mating. His father and mother were quite fond of him, as they were of the other children they had, and T'lobl had a fair number of half-siblings running around the Weyr with him, stamped with his father's bright green eyes, or his mother's straight, strong nose. He was reared by the Assistant cook, a patient woman with two children of her own and myriad fosterlings.
Talobl, as he was named in youth, was a proud boy. His dragonriding father was an idol to him, and from the age of twelve he was determined to impress, and bronze no less. He felt that he had the necessary intelligence and spirit for the position, and was certain that some day he would be a Weyrleader. And in threadfall, no less - it was coming back, and would return during his lifetime. He did indeed impress, and got an armful of magnificent, adoring bronze during his fifteenth year. He was Bretivth's, and Bretivth was his, now and forever.
He raced through Weyrlinghood, graduating with flying colors, and was drafted into the Weyrleader's wing upon graduation, a great honor. He quickly established himself as a hardworking and ambitious youth, eager to work and to serve his superiors, but also eager to rise in status. When Nasha died, making Santara Weyrwoman, he began to study the decade-older woman from afar. Soon he began to admire her; her strength and resiliance proved to be equal that of any man, and her beauty was just as great. He even began to love her from afar.
T'lobl rose quickly, taking command of a wing of his own, then becoming Weyrsecond after a change in Weyrleadership. With his new rank came more chances to meet the Weyrwoman, and the two took to each other immediately. She was a smart, witty, and attractive woman, and he was a strong young man whose steady morals and staunch belief in tradition served as counterbalance to her liberal and sometimes reckless views. He became Weyrleader soon after his promotion, both dragon and rider wanting the outcome, and they were one of the few Weyrmated Weyrleaders on Pern. In council they were a formidable pair, and Atora prospered during their reign. However, Santara aged, and six months ago Santara and her queen were lost between when the two, exhausted and not concetrating, returned from a series of negotiations at the hold.
Dragonrider Information:
Dragon's Name: Bretivth
Dragon's Age: 42
Dragon's Color: Bronze
Dragon's Appearance:
Bretivth is a fine beast, an epitome of bronzehood. He has a good green-gold color, dark, rich, and smooth, a large and noble head, and a thick, powerful body. He isn't exactly graceful, but he is strong and enduring, which makes up for it. He is thick through the body and neck, giving him a blocky look, and his wings are wide, very wide. All in all, he looks like a flying cinder block, only one so large it's impressive. He isn't lithe, and never was, but he can fly as nimbly as many a blue and green, though his size makes him less flexible in the air. He's the type who can last a full fall, but is likely to get a mild scoring every other fall.
Dragon's Personality:
Bretivth thinks he's the most noble bronze in the world. He's got a humungous ego, and thinks that all dragons should instantly obey his every whim, seeing as he's a bronze, and the Weyrleader's bronze at that. He isn't stupid, just proud. As a wingleader's beast, he's a good one, a fine dragon for coordinationg formations and wing attacks, though he hasn't yet had practice against real thread. He's sure he can handle it, though, and he's probably right.
