Persona Appearance:
M'nex has light brown hair that is starting to bald, givng his very tan face an odd white edge at the receding hairline. His hair tends to curl in warm weather (all the time, in Atora) and never stays flat as it should. He keeps it short, as it otherwise gets out of hand and becomes a nuisance when flying. His face is weather-beaten and wrinkled from constant sun exposure and flying, but his grin, when he does smile, is wide and the flashing white teeth and blue eyes make him good-looking enough even as he approaches middle-age.
He is 5'11" and fairly slim of build; while strong, he has a more wiry frame than some, and he doesn't have large shoulder and chest muscles like some riders. He is tough as jerky, though, and can move as quickly as a feline when he wants to. He isn't physically intimidating, but he can fight for himself if he needs to. He always carries a beltknife and his clothing, while durable, is well-embroidered, too. He has a "friend" down in the lower caverns who is quite an accomplished seamstress; she makes his clothes, and he puts in a good word for her to the headwoman (as well as other favors).
Persona Personality:
M'nex is a charmer and a cad. It's a bit of a harsh way to put it, but he enjoys his status as a dragonrider, especially a brownrider - he sees that as synonymous to "chick magnet" and has been exploiting his status ever since he graduated from Weyrlinghood. He has a readily available smile for any good-looking female, and especially enjoys getting to know the female candidates. While officially they're off-limits, the Weyrlingmaster can't be everywhere, and some of them are very, very tempting. He isn't such a bad catch himself, either, and his success is mostly due to his good looks, not his winning personality.
M'nex is a decent wingrider, but he has absolutely no ambition in life other than to get by. He can often be heard to lament the fact that thread is due in just one more turn, meaning that his and his dragon's looks may be ruined by score (though he does comfort himself with the thought that the ladies might think it looks dashing). He shows up for wing practice, is respectful to his Wingleader and 'second, and otherwise enjoys himself. He just doesn't bother with rank or ambition. Since we're all going to die anyways, he thinks, what's the point in getting stressed over the little things?
Persona History:
M'nex, the product of a typical mating flight (his father was the loser, but that didn't stop him from enjoying company), was an insufferable weyrbrat, always in trouble and out of his mother's grasp. Lexin was a pretty drudge, and her various children annoyed her to no end - eventually, she just shoved them in the creche after they were weaned and had done with them. M'nex, therefore, grew up without any strong female rolemodel, and has never had a high opinion of the sex.
Standing when he was of age was the natural thing to do - after all, girls dig dragons - and Asorth waddled into his life during his sixteenth turn. M'nex was a decent weyrling, though he rued the restrictions of training, and he graduated on time. As soon as he was assigned to a wing, M'nex stopped taking the whole dragonriding thing too seriously save taking care of Asorth, whom he adores; let the others worry about thread. M'nex has gotten himself entangled in various relationships, none serious, and none particularly noteworthy; he is somewhat surprised that he managed to fill twenty turns of his life with it, and more surprised that he is actually twice the age of some of the candidates!

Dragon Appearance:
Asorth is of average size and weight, with a good wingspan. His tail is thick and powerful, and he uses it to great effect when swimming in the sea or weyrlake - he likes to splash things. His hide, a sandy brown, fades to a tan on his underbelly and the underside of his neck and tail; his head is long and narrow with large nostrils and eyes. He is a good, swift flier and very accomplshed at catching greens.
Dragon Personality:
Like rider, like dragon, they say, and Asorth is very much like M'nex. Always with the greens, this brown is exceedingly sociable and flirtatious, even chatting up the occaisional gold (though he often gets told off for cheek). He is a funny one, for a dragon, with a quick wit and good sense of rhyme; he tells awful puns and enjoys thinking them up himself. He doesn't take life too seriously, and while he is a bit more excited about thread's coming pass, he's sure it won't interfere with his social life that much.
