Foster Parents: None Significant Other: None Children: None. Persona Appearance: Lorisel is a heavily-muscled man, which comes from his profession. He has dark brown hair and a very, very deep tan. His eyes are startlingly white in his dark face, often covered in dirt or soot, and the light green pupils seem somewhat out-of-place. His nose is long and straight, and his lips are thin and his smile wide. He has huge hands and thick fingers, but they are surprisingly nimble with delicate instruments used to etch designs on a newly-forged dagger. He stands at 5'10", and is a very large man. Somehow, though, he doesn't appear to be intimidating; he seems like a gentle giant, with his soft smile and friendly eyes. Persona Personality: Lorisel is a quiet man of few words. He doesn't talk endlessly, and is, by default, a good listener - or so people say; he just smiles and nods and lets a person talk on without trying to talk about himself or his own interests. He's perfectly happy to help make other people happy, and he gets pleasure out of knowing that he can give other people happiness just by doing simple things - giving a compliment after someone completes a difficult task; listening to a person's grievances, laughing at a joke. He isn't at all self-centered, and has no real ambition; he works hard because his work will help other people be happy, and therefore will make him happy, not because he wants money or rank. Persona History: Lorisel was the firstborn of an up-and-coming Journeyman Smith, and as a child he was very proud of his father. His mother was support staff, and kept the hall running; she was a warm woman with many fosterlings as well as her own brood of three - two sons and a daughter. Lorisel grew up as happy and healthy a boy as any could wish, calm and sweet and helpful. He obeyed all the rules, and just wanted to please; he never teased his younger siblings. The older folk thought he was a miracle. Lorisel was apprenticed, as expected, at 12 turns; his father had the teaching of him, as well as several other journeyman and masters of the hall; he learned mostly blacksmithing, his father's specialty, but also learned a bit about jewelry making, and made various necklaces and bracelets for his mother and sister when learning. It was all poor-grade silver and agate, but he worked hard at it, and became fairly good. His father was proud of the boy, and as Lorisel grew it became clear the lad was the spitting image of his father. Lorisel made journeyman at eighteen, and his first assignment was to Nabol. He stayed there for six years, and learned a great deal just from practical experience; most of his work was blacksmithing and farrier's work, but he made a pretty penny now and then by making trinkets for the women, using silver and turquoise he bartered for at gathers. When he was recalled back to the hall for reassignment, he had a lot of experience under his belt, and was ready for a challenge. That he got; he was assigned to Atora Weyr after the retirment of their last smith, who had reached the age of 68 before he requested a replacement. Lorisel worked with the man for several months before taking over entirely, and currently is working with several other support staff at enlarging weyrs and sleeping caverns in the Weyr.
