It falls down to her waist in cascades of wheaten gold, shining in the sun like fire. Her eyes are huge and blue-green, the color of the ocean on a cloudless day. Her eyelashes are long and curly, and her eyebrows are delicately arched. Her mouth is a bright red cupid's-bow, small and pert; her nose is small and just begs to be tweaked by adoring lovers or affectionate nursemaids. She has dimples in both cheeks, and when she smiles, her pearly white teeth flash in the sun. Kylaea wheres(sic) dresses that cling to her perfect, curvaceous figure, always of the finest materials. She wears jewelry, but she does not need it; she is so naturally beautiful that she would look beautiful in anything. Persona Personality: Kylaea is a very sweet person. She loves children and animals, and she is friends with every helpless creature on Pern. She is never without her fair of ten golden firelizard queens, whom she can talk to as if they were dragons; they are the most intelligent firelizards on all Pern. She can talk to all dragons, too, and there has never been a dragon who hasn't loved her just as much as his or her rider. She is very innocent, since she grew up in a hold, but she isn't stupid; she loves to learn and has already written a book on music at the request of the hold harper, as she is, of course, a natural singer and instrumentalist. She is very humble, though, for all her accomplishments; she doesn't think she's particularly special or noteworthy. Persona History: Kylaea grew up in a hold that no one has ever heard of! It is located deep within the Southern Continent, and nobody's ever discovered it. Her parents are the Lord and Lady Holder there, and Kylaea is the youngest of four daughters. Her mother,Lyenaka, was married to her father, Molf, when she was only fifteen. Molf is nineteen years older than Lyenaka, and is very cruel. He was always mean to Lyenaka, and was mean to Kylaea too. Molf always favored Kylaea's three older sisters, Kyna, Kyra, and Kyssa. The three sisters were all ugly and mean, like their father. They have always been mean to her, called her names, and blamed her for everything. Kylaea never got angry at them, but just cried in a corner and talked to her animal friends. When Kylaea was only five turns old, her mother died, and she was raised by Hyacinthia, a kind and loving drudge. Kylaea and Hyacinthia were as close as mother and daughter, and Hyacinthia raised Kylaea as if she were her daughter, and never told Kylaea of her true parentage. Even though Kylaea had to work as a drudge during her childhood, she grew up kind and smart and beautiful. She got lessons from the hold's harper, who recognized her natural brilliance, and when Kylaea was ten, the girl impressed her gold firelizard fair, all of whom loved her. Kylaea was a drudge, but everyone in the hold loved her too, except for Molf and her older sisters. when Kylaea was fifteen, Hyacinthia was killed by Molf for spilling a cup of klah she was serving him. Kylaea was very, very sad but when she went back to the home she had shared with Hyacinthia, she found a letter among Hyacinthia's belongings explaining Kylaea's true parentage. When Kylaea confronted her father, Molf, she was thrown out of the hold. With her trusty runnerbeast Mare, Tulip, and her ten gold firelizards she set out to the Weyr. Upon arriving, she was searched by every dragon in the Weyr. She was absolutely delighted, especially when she discovered she could talk to all dragons. She has stood on the sands twice now, but since there was no gold, she didn't impress. All of the dragonets knew that she deserved gold and not green or blue, even though Kylaea loves all dragons and thinks that they are all equal. Someday, Kylaea knows, she will impress a gold dragon, fall in love with a bronzerider, become Weyrwoman, and go down in history as the most wonderful, beautiful, and perfect person Pern has ever known.
