
The Honduran Flag contains 3 equal sized horizontal stripes. The top and bottom strip are blue and the middle stripe is white. The white stripe consists of 5 blue pointed stars. There are 2 stars above one another on the left and the right side then there is a solitary star in the middle of them.
The Blue

represent the Pacific Ocean and the Caribbean Sea. The Five stars
represent the
five nations of the United States of Central America. The Five nations that once
represented the union
Honduras, El
Salvador, Costa
Rica, Nicaragua, and
Guatemala.

The Honduran Flag was adopted on January 9, 1866, making it one of the worlds oldest flags. The present Honduran flag is similar to that of the United States of Central America flag, which came to an end in the years of 1838 - 1839. All of the countries in the United State of Central America gained independence from Spain on September 15, 1821. Honduras separated form the United States of Central America and declared its independence on November 5th 1838.
