HANDICAP INFORMATION
Hello. My name is Lee Peters and I am the Handicap Chairperson at Sussex Pines for 2010. On April 1st (April Fools Day - how appropriate is that), the Handicap Computer in the Pro Shop will be turned on and we need to start posting our scores. Here are some important guidelines that we need to follow:
- Post ALL rounds (9 holes - yes you can post a 9 hole score and/or 18 holes). If you have questions on posting 9 hole scores, talk to Steve or Rich. Your scores need to be entered in the Handicap Computer located in the golf shop, or can be posted through the Member section of the Club's website.
- Enter your "adjusted" score. There can be a difference between the actual score you shoot and the score you post on the handicap computer. To get your "adjusted" score you look at the Equitable Stroke Control chart (this chart is posted on the Handicap Computer in the golf shop) the chart defines proper score adjustments for posting your score. Confused?, ask Steve or Rich to explain the chart for you when next posting a score.
- When playing in a Tournament (whether at Sussex or away) it is very important that ALL Tournament rounds be posted as a Tournament round (T). At Sussex Pines, ALL scorecards will be collected for Tournament rounds and the Handicap committee/Handicap Chairperson will monitor to see that scores are posted in a proper fashion. Adjustments may be made for scores not posted or posted incorrectly.
- ALL away scores need to be posted using the Equitable Stroke Control chart. This includes off season play (Florida, Arizona, etc.) , MISGA, vacations, B-Team matches, etc.. If you aren't sure if you should post a score, ask Steve or Rich.
If, at any time, you have questions concerning the Handicap process, please feel free to call or email me, or you can ask Steve or Rich in the golf shop. Wishing you all a great 2010 golf season at Sussex Pines.
