Sussex Pines Fifty-Fifty Monthly Drawings of 50/50 Partners’ Club
All of us take pride in our Club and its continuing success. This success obviously results from commitments for existence and to make improvements as needed and desired in all facets of our operations.
Specifically, our golf course, our clubhouse and our swimming pool require on-going attention, the cost of which sometimes exceeds funds available from annual dues income.
With that thought came the idea for a monthly 50/50 program, the Club’s proceeds from which could be applied to supplement funds available for certain needed improvements.
How does it work? It’s easy…
1. Sign up to enter. No tickets are issued, no money changes hands. Once you sign up, on your next billing statement a charge of $10.00 will be included and identified as 50/50 Partners’ Club. You must be a member in good standing with the Club and regular monthly club charges must be paid to participate.
2. Once a month, at a pre-announced date and time a drawing will be held. The amount of the total proceeds in the pot will be announced. One half of that amount will be distributed among three lucky members whose names will be drawn. Winnings will be distributed 50, 30 & 20 percent to winners by credits to their respective accounts.
3. Winners have the option of using their winnings to pay for house and/or pro shop charges as well as dues. Winners also have the option of deciding which respective fund the Club’s proceeds will be applied to (golf, clubhouse, or pool).
4. Money in each respective fund will be maintained under the control of the Treasurer and the Controller, and the activity in each account will be monitored by a designated representative of the Planning Committee on a continuing basis.
5. Golf course, Clubhouse and Pool management will be asked to submit lists of items to be considered for purchase or expenses necessary for improvements. Decisions on specific expenditures will require the approval of a majority of the Board members. Records will be maintained to support these approvals.
6. On a monthly basis, winners’ names, amounts won and winners’ choices of designated Club funds will be included in monthly newsletters.
7. Details concerning expenditures from these Club funds will be reported in the Newsletters on an “as-occurs” basis.
8. Recognize that the timing of monthly billings (i.e. June expenses will be on the bill received around July 1st and that members pay their bills throughout the month) will result in the August 50/50 drawing being made for June 50/50 billings/collections.
9. The 50/50 Partners’ Club drawings will be on the 3rd Friday of each month at 7:00 p.m. in the Grille Room. The first drawing was on August 16, 2002 for the June collections.
10. When someone wishes to discontinue participation in the program, they sign a form that cancels their original authorization and give it to the Controller for his input and files. Cancellation forms may be requested from Ed Reynolds, our Controller.
11. The Controller will maintain an automated file of participants supported by a manual file of their authorizations.
12. On a monthly drawing basis, a computer list will be generated and posted in a prominent spot that includes all names/account numbers to be included in that drawing. Check and find your name/account number on the list.
