Membership Report--July/August.- 2008

MEMBERSHIP REPORT---BUD TOWNSEND

Things continue to be busy for us. We are still getting considerable interest regarding membership at Sussex Pines. We’ve been successful in attracting new members and having some old members return. Thanks to my committee members for their tireless efforts in getting lots of “behind the scenes” work accomplished (setting newspaper ads, making and sending mailers, making calls and answering phone inquiries, working with radio people for advertising, working the open house and dinners when we had public dining). A special thanks goes out to our general membership for all they have done in making our drive a good one—phone calls to committee members to recommend names, bringing people to the club for dinner, drinks and to show them this little gem called Sussex Pines Country Club. We have signed over fifty new and returning members and have covered the big loss of members since last year. It’s still a great bargain to join, since the initiation fee continues to be waived and the dues are pro-rated (currently dues are at 50% vs. beginning of year).

Here are the names of those new members who joined since the last newsletter:

We are currently working on our latest project—updating the Membership Handbook. This is long overdue and, hopefully, we will have it ready for Board approval at the July board meeting. We would get it printed immediately after the Board gives us the OK. Until next month, keep up the good work in working with us to get new members. Sussex Pines Country Club has, too long, been this area’s best kept secret. We don’t want it a secret any longer.
