Ladies 9-Hole Closing Luncheon

The Ladies 9-Hole Golf Association held its closing luncheon on 21 Oct. Twenty-five players showed up to enjoy a beautiful, sunny day of golf, and another six ladies came just for the luncheon, including Binky Tompkins, Anne Finn, and Flo Smith. It was really good to see them!

Many thanks to Cass Hall who prepared stunning centerpieces for the luncheon tables, featuring a creative flower arrangement over sand and a golf ball. May this be as close as you ever get to being in a bunker! Cass, we are really grateful to have such talent which you share with us.

New officers for the 9-hole association were announced as follows: President – Linda Lewis; Vice President, Marie LaRocca; Secretary, Sue Toccafondi; and Treasurer, Linda Spear.

Golf Team Results

The Northern Division was won by Prospect Bay, and the Southern Division by Ocean Pines. Ocean Pines won a narrow victory in the Division Playoff.

Open Golf

Open golf will be held on Tuesdays around 10 a.m. for anyone who wishes to come out and play. Come and join the fun!

Opening Day 2009

The 9-Holers opening day for 2009 will be on or about the 21st of April, 2009, depending on the clubhouse schedule. Watch the Newsletter and Clubhouse notices as April 2009 approaches to see the actual schedule.

A former Sussex Pines member, Grace Baker, is ill. Please remember her in your cards and prayers as you wish her a speedy recovery.
