No one knows for certain the exact
beginnings of Fenwick Island, but as far as folklore goes Fenwick Island has one whopper
of a tale of the daring escape a man from a pirate ship that run aground on a sandbar who
dug a small ditch to keep his cows from straying, that grew into a very large canal in
Little Assawoman Bay.

The Town of Fenwick Island is the southeastern most town in the State of Delaware and
is nestled between the ocean and the bay. The Town of Fenwick Island was incorporated in
1953 and is locally referred to as "The Quiet Resort."
