Alexander was born on
27th April 1977 to
Allana and Joseph Alexander
in Bridgeport,
Conn. His siblings include two brothers and one sister. Alexander did
his graduation from
Jordan High School in Durham
N.C. in 1995. He
became state of North Carolina's Gatorade Player of the Year as a senior
and also earned third-team All-America recognition from BlueChip and
Parade magazines. His brother, Andre, played basketball at Norfolk State
University. Courtney was the first player in the history of the Western
Athletic Conference to become the nation’s leading scorer. He gradually
improved his scoring in each of his 4 seasons in college
(13.9, 14.8, 21.4,
25.3). He played for the University of Virginia in his first two
seasons.
In 1998 he was
transferred to Frenso. He has
a nice midrange game but since he remains
focused on scoring his pick becomes pretty scary. Perhaps he is the best
shooting guard in the Draft as viewed by many.
