Waylon Robbins: A Dance Star

Waylon Robbins of PuRe EnTeRtAiNmEnT Dance Productions, July 2001

W aylon began country dancing along with his mom, Sandy, when the country dance craze hit Delaware and became very popular. The two came up with the idea of starting their own DJ/Dance Instruction Service, which came to be known as "The Right Combination." At the time that this happened, Waylon was only 10 years old and for years he and his mother were a dynamic duo. Later, Waylon formed his own business, called "Shutt-Up-N-Dance Co," and continued on his own with his DJ and Dance Instruction services. Currently, Waylon's business has expanded under the name of PuRe EnTeRtAiNmEnT Productions. He still gives private and group lessons, and is a DJ, Dance Instructor, and Choreographer. He now also provides dance entertainment at public or private functions.

T hese are not the only accomplishments that Waylon has achieved throughout the course of his life. His formal dance training began at the early age of six in extensive tap training. He has long since reached the Master Tap level and now is involved in Master Tap instruction. He also teaches modern dance, jazz, ballroom, exercise and specialized Wedding Routines.

W aylon is involved in choreography for tap routines and country line dancing. His dance, "Flip-Flop-Hop," went National in the popular magazine, "Country Weekly." He also choreographed routines for his country dance teams, which he took to competition. His first group consisted of 26 team members, but traveling with a group that size became a problem. His second group, known as the "Shutt-Up-N-Dance Co. Sixshooters," consisted of six members - including himself. He has also competed in individual line dance competitions at least 9 times and sometime in the future may compete again.
