You wander into a beautiful meadow, it's deep green grasses and blossuming wild flowers take your breath away. As if that's not enough, it's surrounded by a beautiful white birches and a merrily trickling stream of mountain water threads through it. Lilies float calmly on the surface of the clear water, and you think you see a large blue flower sitting on one. You take a second glance and realize it is not a flower, but a fairy!
You smile to yourself and think, a place of childish dreams. The birds sing marvelous tunes and you soon find yourself uncontiously whistling with them as you proceed through the meadow. Suddenly, a flash of black and blue catchs your eye. You cease your whistling and try to watch the blurred figure move through the trees. Quite suddenly, you find a girl of around fourteen gazing up at you with dark brown hair. She is dressed in a black dress, sprinkled with stars as realistic as the night sky, so much that you think you see them twinkling. She also wears a cloak, a bright and cheery blue one, which is covoured with whisps of fluffy clouds. Dark brown hair pokes out of the hood of this magnificent cloak, and, awestruck, you ask .
"Where did you come from?" She lifts a brow and frowns at you deeply. "The forest. Where did you come from and what are you doing here?" You take a step back as her eyes appear to flicker red angerly, and you wonder if she's really as nice as she first appeared. "I...I'm sorry. I didn't realize I was trespassing and um...", you manage to stutter. Her eyes soften noticebly, and return to the soft brown that they normally are. "Yes well, my name is Kiarra. This is the Enchanted Meadow which is under my protection. I am a Guardian, although usually I am the Guardian of Night and Day." You take note of the last fact, and guess that her clothing is accually made of the night and daytime skies. She smiles at you warmly before continuing, "This little valley is home to creatures such as unicorns and dragons, creatures of fantasies and dreams." She nods her head to the left, and mixed among the trees, you spot a very peaceful looking family of unicorns grazing you had not noticed before.
You smile with delight and look about the valley, hoping to spot more creatures you've only dreamt about seeing. Suddenly, the sun is blotted out by immense wings. You hold your breath as handsome blue dragon lands beside Kiarra and rubs her tenderly with his graceful head.
Kiarra grins fondly at him and stokes his arched neck. Without taking her eyes off of him, she says to you, "This is Blueberry Sky, the dragon I Impressed at
." She sighs with pride at the magestic beast, and he sways his head lightly, eyes sparkling in love for his owner. Hanging around his neck is a nameplate thread loosely on a chain necklace.
"He is the guardian of all the realms surrounding the Meadow and-" she stops suddenly and her eyes take on a glazed look. She exhales deeply as her eyes regain focus. "I've just been informed that the meadow's population is getting a bit too high...it seems that I've been doing too good a job of protecting it. If you wish, some of the inhabitents would gladly come home with you. Simply touch them and they'll take you to either their homelands or to another group of them which you can leave the meadow with. Are you ready to join me?" You nod your head enthusiastically, and she smiles. She strokes Blueberry Sky once more before turning to you, "Well then, follow me." She steps into a portal which appears in front of you...
You briefly skip by a dark, dreary path which leads to a dark, dreary place where lightning crackles and thunder booms. An old delapadated sign points down the path that reads, barely legible, The Shortcut.
Take that path if you dare.
