Dale Sr trying to explain racing to Jr.

Why did we tell him to go low Dale?

When Jeff Gordon was running the last Atlanta race, he realized that he would not be able to win without a little help. His crew chief, his pit crew, and his spotters were giving him everything they had, but yet it wasn't quite enough.
Finally, Jeff prayed, "Lord, I'm not going to be able to win this race without a little bit of your help. Please give me the strength to catch up to this Harvick kid." Well, Jeff caught up to him!
"Thank you, God, but I'm gonna need a little of your advice to get around him--go high or go low." Suddenly, Jeff heard, "Go low", so Jeff went low.
Well, we all know how the race ended.
Afterward, Jeff asked, "Lord, I asked you for your advice and you told me to go low yet I didn't get around Harvick. Why did you tell me to go low?"
The Lord answered, "Well, Jeff, I don't know why I told you to go low. Hey, Dale! Why did we tell him to go low?"

When push came to shove, you knew just what to do. But this "INTIMIDATION" was only a part of you. You are a legend and a hero to the fans from all around. They gather silently at the speedway as they lay their memories down. With broken hearts and somber faces they pass it, one by one. Though you never crossed the finish line...In our hearts, you've won. This loss that we have suffered the world could never replace. So go peacefully #3, to that final resting place. Dale Earnhardt 1951-2001

Dale Earnhardt the 7-time Nascar Winston Cup Champion was a legend, he was planning on going for his 8th championship this year but was cut short due to a unplanned accident that claimed his life.

He hit a cement wall on the final lap at the 2001 Daytona 500 which claimed his life, nobody knew what actually happened, Dale usually walks away from these types of crashes, but this time he didn't, when nobody seen him get out of his car, they knew something was wrong.

Dale was trying to hold off the pack, helping Michael Waltrip and Dale Jr stay in front so they can make it to the finish line.

Michael Waltrip was the one who won the 2001 Daytona 500 with Dale Jr coming in second.

Such a sacrifice he did for his crew, Dale was a good man who loved his family, and he loved to race and he went like he would have wanted to, some of Dale's hobbies were Hunting, Fishing on his boat, and messing around on his farm, he also target practiced with Dale Jr with 22 remington rifles, just shooting at cans from the commercial I seen one time.

"He was The Man. That sounds kind of silly to say and a lot of people use it superficially, but it just fits him. He was The Man." Seven Winston Cup championships, 34 different Daytona Speedway victories and 76 Winston Cup wins do not define Earnhardt. Nor does his nickname "The Intimidator". His gruff, take no prisoners persona effectively hid Dale Earnhardt's true-life legacy. As a scruffy, undereducated teen from Kannapolis, N.C., Ralph Dale Earnhardt followed his father, Ralph, into a sport that would eventually elevate him to icon status. He crashed a lot when he first set his toe in the NASCAR Winston Cup pool. Sure, he captured Rookie of the Year and his first Winston Cup title in back-to-back seasons, but by his third year on the circuit, Dale was ill-prepared for the spotlight.

A story of the man's wishes

There was a man who had been in a racing accident at the Daytona 500 and had been killed, he died instantly, So as he was on his way to heaven he contacted God and had him come to him to discuss certain aspects of his final wishes, and what to be racing in, he requested his number #3 chevy.
Everything was in order and God was preparing to leave, when he remembered a very important thing, there was one more thing, he said excitedly,"What's that?" God replied
This is very important the man continued. "I want to carry a fork in my right hand." Then God stood looking at the man, not knowing quite what to say. "That surprises you, doesn't it?" the man asked. "Well, to be honest, I'm puzzled by the request," said God, the man explained, In all my years of attending church socials and potluck dinners, I alway's remembered when the dishes of the main course were being cleared, someone would inevitably lean over and say, 'Keep your fork.'
It was my favorite part because I knew that something better was coming like velvety chocolate cake or deep-dish apple pie.
Something wonderful, and with substance! So, I just want people to see me there in that Church with a fork in my hand and have them wonder, what's with the fork?, I want you to tell them, keep your fork, the best is yet to come.
