MP3 Artists Coalition is a group of musicians/artists who have material available on internet sites. The purpose of MPAC is to get member artists higher page counts, chart positions, and money (for those sites that reward page visits).Currently, MPAC has participating members from around the world, including Canada, Germany, Great Britain, Scotland, Japan, Hong Kong, United States, and New Zealand.


What does MPAC do for you?

MPAC is about several things. Getting you higher chart positions, world-wide exposure, and some Pay for Play money (on those sites that offer it). However, these items are based on several, weighted factors.

Sites such as MP3.com and IUMA won’t reveal their exact formula for how they calculate chart positions and Pay for Play, but they have indicated the primary drivers on their websites are: (In order of importance)

CD Sales
Downloads
Hifi streaming
Lofi streaming
Song lyrics
E-mail the artist

How can MPAC shoot your song up the charts on your MPAC day? Because other MPAC members hit your site and tagged as many of the above mentioned items as they could. It’s important to return the favor, don’t just stream the songs and leave the site. Downloads carry more weight, both in P4P calculations and chart positions. That’s why ‘streaming-only’ programs can’t deliver the full impact of MPAC.

MPAC’s success is built on the strength of it’s members. MPAC members have agreed to view your website, listen to your songs, and download your music. As a member, you agree to return the favor to other MPAC members. MPAC specifically targets your site and directs other MPAC members to view your page, listen to your music, and download songs.


How does MPAC work?

MPAC member receive via e-mail a list of Full-Featured MPAC artists along with a daily MPAC Tower radio station.

If you've selected the MPAC Full-Featured artist option, simply visit the Full-Featured sites as directed in the e-mail, listen to their music, download their top song, and basically explore what another artist has done. Before you leave that artist’s site, send them an email from their page to let them know you visited. That’s it, your done. Nothing more to do until the next MPAC email arrives. On the day your site is distributed, sit back and enjoy the hits!

If you've selected  the MPAC Towers radio station network option, the daily featured radio station will be sent with each MPAC e-mail. You will visit that day's MPAC Tower and select "Play All Tracks Now". Before you leave the station, send an e-mail to the station creator. This option takes the least amount of time, since you only have to visit one site. However, the benefit is less than the Full-Featured option.

If you've selected the Impact! MPAC, you'll visit the featured artist sites as above, as well as visit the day's radio tower and select "Play All Tracks Now". This option takes the most time, but rewards you with the most Impact.

MPAC will bring you increased web hits, downloads and chart positions, but MPAC won’t work unless everyone does their part. Sending the artist (and Tower radio station) an e-mail is VERY important. Without some way of verifying you were there, you may be dropped from MPAC.


Who's in MPAC now?

All sorts of musicians from all over the world! You’ll hear rock, country, experimental, jazz, new-age, hip-hop, trance, dance, alternative, and whatever else the MPAC world has to offer.

*Please Note* MPAC supports a wide variety of genres, styles, and artists. However, we do not support artists that condone racism, hatred, violence, or profanity. We cannot support artists who have more than 2 songs (or 20% of the site contents)on their website that require a ‘Parental Advisory’ label.


What does it cost to join MPAC?

AH!!! The best news of all… FREE! Remember, MPAC was formed to support each other. All it will take is your time, which you probably already spend to look at your own site to see how it’s doing.


Is MPAC only for MP3.com artists?

NO!! Although the MPAC Radio Stations are exclusive to MP3.com artists, ANY site (such as IUMA, Farmclub, Vitaminic etc) that rewards their artists for site visits, hits, and downloads can join MPAC. You can join MPAC even if all you have is your own independent sites and want traffic to your site.

Final Notes:

Obviously, MPAC cannot work without the continued support of artist like you. Joining MPAC is voluntary, and for that matter, so is leaving MPAC. If you find that you don’t have the time to continue with MPAC, no sweat. Just drop us a line and let us know. We’d love to have you back later when you do have more time. To make sure MPAC doesn’t support any free-loaders, MPAC will periodically ask you to report the number and email addresses of those that have hit your site. We only want to keep those that support other artists by actively visiting MPAC members sites.
