Aloe Vera, in it's natural state, is a very effective healer, especially with sunburn, minor burns, insect bites ,& other skin irritations. Taken internally, it is an effective laxative & promotes general healing. Personally, I have used it many times especially with my kids loving the outdoor Texas sun. It is a good idea to keep a plant around the house if possible because the commercial preparations contain very little of the actual drug. To buy it commercially, be sure that aloe vera is listed as the first or second ingredient on the label & that it says it is from 97 to 99 percent pure. Otherwise, it is not likely to be very beneficial.

Wiccan altars are often piled high with apples on Samhain for the apple is considered as one of the foods of the dead. Daisies have power where lust and love is concerned, and is said to bring love when worn. A simple divination that's been done for years can be done with a daisy. Remember the "He loves me, He loves me not?" That is love divination in its most basic form.

Dragons Blood is a "fire element" herb. As such, it carries the same strengths as fire. A pinch of Dragons blood added to other incense will increase the potency. Dragons blood increases the power of any herb it is used with. It will also increase a person's strength and power. When finely powdered, it puffs up when you pour it. It also sticks to everything it comes into contact with, so be careful.

Mistletoe grows on huge Oak trees. Use Mistletoe for Protection, Love, Fertility, and Health. We all know the spell used at the Winter Solstice (Christmas): kissing under the mistletoe. But did you know that if you burn the mistletoe you kissed under, then legend says that this prevents the love shared under it from leaving? Mistletoe helps to bond married couples and bring single people their soul mates. The berries of this plant are poisonous, so use caution.

Oak is good for money, protection, potency, fertility, and luck. It is said that carrying oak will draw good luck. Salt: Sea salt is best but not necessary. Salt cleanses and purifies. It can be used in cleansing rituals, and banishings. Use salted water to purify new tools. Enchanting Herbs

Enchanting is basically just simple spell casting. When enchanting an herb, you will be empowering that herb with a specific purpose. The power is actually already there, but you must learn to bring it out. You may correspond your magick to the moon, the day of the week, the hour of the day, the time of season, or whatever else you need...if you need anything at all. Remember to visualize as you do this. State your purpose as clearly as possibly, and use words straight from the heart. Bring out the power from deep within your inner self. Focus. Concentrate... for the magick resides within you.

Candles, one red candle, salt, athame, mortar & pestle, herbs

First, prepare your altar for the type of magick you are doing, depending on what you are seeking. Now once your altar is ready (if you choose to use an altar at all), you will begin by lighting the candles. Concentrate on your goal. Be specific as you envision what you want to happen. Visualization is the most important aspect in releasing magick.

Place the herb you will be working with on your mortar & pestle. If you have salt handy, pour a tad on your athame & proceed to pour it from there into the mortar.

As you continue to visualize, you can say something like this: "Salt purifies and cleanses. Cleanse these herbs, and make them pure in direction & intent." (Visualize the salt purifying the herbs).

Next, pick up one of the herbs you are "enchanting" & mix it into the salt, saying: "I charge thee with the task of ______. Your power is desperately needed." Then mix the salt and rose together with your athame.

Now measure out a portion of one of the herbs you plan to use with your athame, the same one if you are only using one, and drop it into the blend, saying, "I charge you and bid you to lend wisdom of decision to ________. Stir the herb into the mixture. Keep your focus!

Next, pick up another herb (or the same if necessary) and say, "I empower thee to lend strength of heart in this difficult time. Through your strength, may my (or name recipient) heart be lightened and my (name) will be strengthened."

Then measure out a tiny amount of another herb (or the same), saying, "Within thee is the power to intensify each herb. Your will brings the power of change."

Mixing them all together & say, "For a year and a day, may you be charged to lend thy power where needed. As Above, So Below, Thy will be done. So Mote it Be!"

Using your athame again, pick up a bit of the herbal mixture & place enough in the cloth bag (or locket if you have one with a compartment in it) to fill it. Now light the red candle and say, "Red is the color of power and strength" while dropping a little wax on the herbs inside the locket to seal and bind the blend together. Then close the bag/ locket, and most importantly, hold it in both hands, and concentrate on the person and the purpose with a light and loving heart. Focus intently. When you feel the enchantment is done, give thanks to the God/Goddess, put out the candles, and clean up any leftover remnants of your ritual. Now wrap the newly made amulet in a cloth until you can give it to the person it was meant for.
