Belina
Belina is a precious puppy.  Around here we call her Belina-rena-ding-dong since Belina sounds a bit serious for this happy little girl.  Belina is about a year old and weighs 18 pounds.  She LOVES everyone--dogs, cats and people!  Her favorite thing is to jump up in the people bed and snuggle, even more fun if the bed occupant is not expecting her!  To know her is to love her.  You can't help but smile at her enthusiasm and readiness to go anywhere and do anything.  She's a work in progress, though.  Things may get chewed up, potty accidents may occur, she will jump up on people and doesn't always keep her teeth to herself (she likes to grab your hands with her mouth.)  Belina is a mix of Schnauzer and probably Yorkshire Terrier.  She has wiry hair that is very cute and does not require trips to the groomer for trimming.  True to her Schnauzer ancestry, she is a vocal girl and will bark, especially when she is excited about dinner or getting to play a game with you.  She is smart and very people-oriented.  She has not met anyone that she hasn't wanted to run up and kiss!  Like all puppies, she needs direction and training, but with the right family, we have no doubt she will make an incredible companion.  If you have questions about Belina or would like to request an adoption application, please send an email to zeberyarp@juno.com  Fenced yard, vet reference and home visit required.  No young children, please, due to Belina's energetic puppy behaviors.

The Denton Humane Society rescues and places hundreds of unwanted pets in loving, adoptive homes every year.  Most of these animals would have been euthanized if the Denton Humane Society had not provided for their care.  DHS carefully screens potential adopters to ensure the best possible match between guardians and their new pets.  Orphaned animals are kept in selective foster homes while awaiting adoption.  In these private homes they are nurtured and given veterinary care as well as being socialized in the family environment.
