First Impression:
There has been much aniticipation regarding Season 3 of the US Dub of Dragonball Z. Many questions arose when they announced the new season. How will the voices and dialogue be? Will the censoring be so strict? Will this be an improvement? Hopefully, all the answers will be found below.
I first saw season three a little while back with the uncensored tape "Captain Ginyu: Assault". My first opinion when I heard the announcer's voice was that the season would suck. However, something great happened. as I watched the "previously on Dragonball Z", what did I see? Blood! That's right there is blood. In all it's glory, Vegeta bled from his eye, Rikum bled from various parts of his face, and Gohan had blood dripping from his mouth. Anyway, onto the voices. Krillin's was bad, Jeice's was bad, Bata's was ah....a dunno, not too bad. Goku certainly had to get some experience into this before he can get good, like all the other voice actors. Somehow, they kept Freeza's new voice almost the same, this was bad. I think with work they can get better. The dialogue was no where near the original Japanese dialogue. "I guess it's because I eat wholesome foods." Guess what, that is L-A-M-E lame! But guess what? I don't care, I saw blood.
Censorship? It's gotten, much better!!! Even in the censored version there were no stars with face shots. They only use them now to show impact. When Goku takes off, yellow star, when bouncing off a tree, yellow star, but luckily you see the face shots. But there is yellow stars on some body impacts. Oh, there is more "naughty" language, such as "pissing" and "freakin" and I think it only get's better. The uncensored version is a little better, they even show Goku naked.

Final Opinion
Hey, it's not bad. It seems the more you get into it the better they get. Also, Freeza does get a better voice. It seems that it may be OK, better than the old eps. I think for the dub, it's hell-better. I mean, everyone seems to bleed and they all are more into their character. I mean, they SHOW Vegeta breaking Bata' neck on the cartoon Network CENSORED version. Very nice.
I think that it has potential. Once FUNimation can afford good voice actors, the Dub may be watchable. If you want to experience DBZ, get fansubs. However, season 3 has some hope.
