 Here is a really important section that is useful for anyone learning about Dragonball Z. I have a couple pages of in-depth character bios. This is pretty much a list of all main characters, or characters that played an important role in the story. All the information was written by me, and me only. If you want to use anything, you can use the top part, not the paragraph. And make sure you ask permission. All the pictures were made from larger pictures using Paint Shop Pro 5. If you think I stole a picture, it's not true because all these were created by me. Also, the abilities were gathered from all my knowledge of visiting other sites. Anyway, enough of the mean talk. Race: Guldo is Bas-Jin, I think Recoome is an android, the rest, I dunno
The Ginyu Force is made up of 5 powerful warriors. Guldo is the weakest, Ginyu is the strongest, and the rest are about equal. They work for Frieza by preparing planets to be sold and other things. Their most important use is when Frieza is having difficulty with someone/something, he just calls for them like he did on Namek. All of them except Ginyu were finished off by Vegeta. Guldo was beaten up by Krillin and Gohan, and Recoome (I love picking vegetables from my garden), Jeice, and Burter were beat up by Goku and Vegeta. Ginyu himself however, switched bodies with Goku, then accidently switched bodies with a frog. >: )
Race: Half Human, Half Saiya-jin
Gohan is the very powerful son of Goku. He is one of the most powerful of all the Saiya-jinns because he is a hybrid (half human, half saiya-jin). He is first introduced in the first episode of Dragonball Z. Raditz kidnapped him and Goku and Piccolo went after Raditz. During the fight, everyone found out Gohan had a hidden power. After the death of Goku, Piccolo took Gohan for special training for preparation for the arrival of two Saiya-jins that were on their way to Earth. Gohan trained and became very powerful and always tried to immitate Piccolo. During DBZ, he usually had to fight enemies much stronger than himself before Goku could arrive to save him. He mananged to turn SSJ and SSJ2, but couldn't reach his full potential because he couldn't control all his power, but his hidden power was opened up by special training in the Buu Saga and never had to turn Super Saiya-jin again.. Gohan was one of the strongest Saiya-jins, only surpassed by his father and Vegeta.
The best known character and one of the greatest heroes ever. Goku is a Saiya-jin, who was sent to Earth as a baby to conquer it. Upon landing, he was found by a kind man named Gohan. Gohan took care of Goku, but Goku, being a Saiya-jin, was very violent and ungrateful. One day, Goku got loose from Gohan and fell into a ravine, where he landed flat on his head. This made Goku forget his mission and from then on he was a happy child. One full moon, he transformed and killed his Granpa Gohan by mistake. After that he is left alone, until he meets Bulma and agrees to look for the Dragonballs with her. He has many battles, some are: Dragonball-Tenshinhan, Piccolo-Daimao, and Piccolo. Dragonball Z-Raditz, Nappa, Vegeta, Ginyu Force, Frieza, Androids, Cell, and Buu. Dragonball GT-Bebi, Bebi Vegeta and the Evil Dragons including Li. He was the main character in all the DB eras. Goku was pure good and only got stronger throughout the series. He could reach SSJ, SSJ2, SSJ3, and SSJ4! He first turned SSJ during the Frieza saga when Frieza threatened Gohan and killed Krillin.
Race: Half Human, Half Saiya-jin
Goten is the second child (and last) of Goku and ChiChi after the Cell battle. He is a very happy child, and resembles Goku when he was a kid, unlike Gohan. He has the same hair (a trait among low class Saiya-jins) and wears the same, yet smaller karate Gi. ChiChi was less strict on him, so he had more time to train. Gohan trained him and ChiChi also trained him a little too. Goten and Trunks are best friends and are always together. They can also fuse to make Gotenks. Goten showed his trues power when he turned Super Saiya-jin at age 7. He entered the 25th Tenkaichi Budoukai where he meets Goku for the first time. In the final round, he has to fight Trunks and almost wins. He is also known for throwing tantrums to get something he wants.
Kamesennin
Race: Human
Kamesennin a.k.a. Master Roshi lives in Kame house on a small island with a turtle. We all know him as the great martial artist and a major pervert. He mastered the Kamehameha after 50 years of training, but Chibi Goku mastered it in 5 seconds. He played a larger role in Dragonball, and a decent one in DBZ, and I am not sure about DBGT because I honestly only seen clips of it. He is looked up at as a hero in Dragonball because he was so strong. He trained Ox-King and Goku's "Grandfather", not to mention Goku and Krillin as kids and made them extremely strong. He prepared them for the Tenkaichi Budoukai under extreme training. Kamesennin also helped them find some dragon balls. He was only killed once and seemed to live forever.
Kai-samma
Race: Kai-samma
The Kai we all love. Most dub fans know him as King Kai. He is the Kai-samma of the North and he is the trainer of Goku, Yamcha, Choua-Zu, and Tien. He taught Goku the Genki Dama and Kaioken. He lives on a small planetoid at the end of the 10,000 mile Snake Way with a monkey named Bubbles and a super-fast cricket named Gregory. He was killed the first and only time when Goku teleports Cell to his planet and Cell blows up. Kai only appeared here and there after Goku's training.
Race: Namek
Kami was sent to Earth before Namek's big storm. When he went to Earth, he created the Dragonballs and also won the title of Kami-sama (the gaurdian of Earth). He is accompanied by Mr. Popo, who helps out the Kami-sama's and lives above Karin tower on Kami's lookout. At one point, Kami split into a good and evil form. The evil form: Piccolo-Daimao! They were spiritually linked, so if one died, so did the other. However, before Chibi Goku killed Piccolo, he spat out Ma Jr. (Piccolo Jr.). Now Kami was linked to Piccolo Jr. Later, when Kami fused with Piccolo, Dende became Kami-sama.
Race: Human
The Buddhist Monk that Goku meets on Kamesennin's island in Dragonball. They were both their to train hard, and competed in the 21st Tenkaichi Budoukai. Eventually, he became best friends with Goku. In DBZ, he was trained by Kami-sama along with the other Z warriors which made him very strong. He fought the Saiya-jins and was 1 of 4 (Yajirobe too) to survive the battle and went on to Namek along with Gohan and Bulma to recover the Dragonballs there. He was killed by Frieza on Namek. That was a factor that help Goku turn Super Saiya-jin. After that, he help everyone fight future battles. Eventually, he married #18 and had a daughter.
Mr. Popo
Race: Genie
Mr. Popo lives on Kami's lookout and takes care of it, and the Kami's that live there. He may look like a balloon, but he is a great and powerful fighter. He also taught Goku how to sense Ki. When he wants to travel, he goes by his flying carpet or teleportation. He showed Bulma where Kami's old ship was so they can go to Namek. He also taught her the Namekian language. Mr. Popo wasn't a main character, but he played a decent role in the Dragonball series.
