Star Trek: Voyager

The Delta Blues site.

Episode reviews for Voyager and Enterprise. I would be totally remiss if I didn’t put up a link to Jim Wright’s incredible site. It's filled with news and my personal favorite, the reviews themselves. Completely up-to-date, Jim’s reviews are absolutely hilarious and detailed as all hell. A ‘must bookmark’ site for every Voyager fan.

The Left Hand of Madness by Siubhan (Jennifer Pelland)

Slash. Once upon a time, I used to think slash stories were icky. ‘The Left Hand’ series was the one that actually ‘brought me over to the dark side’. Superbly written with an intriguing plot line, it remains one of my all-time favs of Siubhan’s many stories. As if being stranded on an uninhabited planet wasn’t bad enough, a transporter malfunction complicates our favourite Helmboy’s life even further.

Falling by Amirin
Slash. A magnificent, well-written Hurt/Comfort story by the talented Amirin (be sure to check out her P/K stuff, too). Tom suffers unforeseen consequences after he saves Chakotay’s life.

Sweet Dreams Series by Margaret Berger
Slash. I love stories that have a firm basis in reality -- ‘could really happen to someone you know’-esque. Margaret has managed to capture that feeling in this marvelous series that chronicles a relationship between C/P from the first unexpected kiss onwards.

Second Impression by Vyola
Slash. I’ve always loved this classic Hurt/Comfort story. Vyola is truly gifted at keeping Chakotay and Paris ‘in character’ as their relationship progresses.

What Price Freedom? by Moondancer
Slash. Poor Tom Paris, the guy never seems to catch a break. When he’s accused of rape while on shore leave, the native’s system of justice calls for retribution -- to be administered by Chakotay. Moonshadow delves deeply into the emotional ramifications of the situation with remarkable skill. Note: this story contains themes of non-consensual sex.

Random Acts by Ruth Devero
Slash. If you like you fanfic with a twink, then is this story for you! Ruth describes this story as a PWP, but personally I think it’s so much more than that. One senior officer is using a holodeck program where the setting is a brothel and the prostitute is...another senior officer? My description sucks...just read it! 46k

Resurrection by Amirin
Non-Graphic Slash. A friend of mine sent this story my way, and I realized that I had read it a long time ago. Like so many things, I'd forgotten how though-provoking this story was the first time I read it. On some level, I have to admit that one of the underlying themes kind of squeaked me, but hey, not only is it fiction it's *science* fiction. Tom Paris is found guilty of committing a crime on an alien world. His sentence? To be born and grow up again, with no memories of his previous life. Wonderfully told. Warning: Supporting character death. 492k

Lifewish by Emma Woodhouse

Slash. I’ve never figured out who is behind the ‘Emma Woodhouse’ nom de plume, but quite frankly, I’d rather enjoy her stories than worry about it overly much. Lifewish is actually the second story in a series (the first is Tom, Dick, and Harry). Everybody’s favourite omnipotent being visits Voyager, making Tom, who is mourning the death of Harry, an offer he can’t refuse. It’s a beautiful exploration of love and loss, with an awesome twink for those Next Generation fans out there.

Yours, Mine, and Ours by Amirin
Slash. This is amazing series from, IMHO, one of the best Voyager slash writers out there. These stories have it all -- good plot, great writing, and monitor melting sex scenes. When Harry is trapped on an uninhabited planet, just how much is Tom willing to give up to be with his best friend? The ‘prove it’ scene in the last story melted even my cynical heart.

Pudding and Pie by R'rain Prior
Slash. R'rain is not only the Goddess who runs the Star Trek archive, she's also a great writer, too. This is an older series of hers, but as the first P/K story I ever read, it remains near and dear to my heart. In the aftermath of the slashiest Voyager ep ever (a.k.a. The Chute), Tom and Harry embark on a relationship. As the series progresses, our boys go through some very realistic ups and downs.

Code of Silence by The Angst Girls
Slash. I’m going to warn all Chakotay fans right off the bat this parts of this story require major suspension of disbelief. That aside, this is a nicely written story that delves deeply into the emotions of someone trying to help another over a major trauma. Note: This story contains graphic violence and rape.

A Special Gift by Kim Gasper

Adult/Slash. Another amazing story from Kim. Homesickness and holiday spirit abound as three of Voyager's officers share a very special night together.

The Arrangement by Rhianna
Adult. The first story in a very realistic J/P series. Captain Janeway is getting lonely, but just one name keeps popping up on her list of possible 'candidates'.

Deeds Done in Darkness by Emma Woodhouse
Adult. The fabulous Emma has done it again! Secret midnight liasions abound when everybody's favourite omnipotent being comes to visit the good ship Voyager.

Life's Challenges by Bridget Cochran
Adult. 1st place winner in the J/P fanfic category of the 1998 Crown Erin Awards, this is a fantastic A/U (and I'm not a big fan of the genre). Response to the JuPiter Station challenge: What if Tom was the Starfleet Bright Star and Janeway was the ex-Fleet, ex-Maquis, ex-con? Well worth the read.

Absumption by The Emu
Adult. Looking for a fluffy, feel-good J/P story? Well, then this one is not for you. Set during the events of the episode, 'Timeless', the Emu writes a gripping exploration of what might have happened had there been some survivors among the crew. Voyager drama at it's best. 70k

Softly and Softer Than The Rain by Jane St. Clair
Gen and Adult, respectively. Looking for a story that is guaranteed to tug on your heartstrings? Well, look no further. Beginning in ‘Softly’, a morale-boosting writing exercise from Chakotay uncovers a very special, deep connection between the Voyager’s captain and helmsman. The story continues on in the sequel, ‘Softer Than The Rain.’ Jane’s description and imagry are breathtaking. Don’t be surprised if you long to be in a thunderstorm yourself as you read this.

Paris Nocturne by Brenda Antrim
Adult Themes. Okay, while this one isn’t technically a J/P piece, it does have some poignant scenes between the two. Considered by many to be one of the classic ‘tortured-Tom’ stories, Paris’ past comes back to haunt him in a bad old way. Brenda takes her readers right to the boundaries of h/c without going over the edge, as so many writers tend to do. A must-read for any Tom Paris fan. Note: This story contains graphic violence and rape.

The Lover by Emu
Adult. Paris. Janeway. Roadtrip. I just love the way Emu writes this pairing. 106k

Heat by Alexandra Lyman

Adult. Remember the episode 'Threshold'? Well, what if the HoloDoc missed something when he brought Paris and Janeway back from their altered states? A year after the events of the episode, Tom and Kathryn are driven by a biological imperiative. 32K

Voyager - Paris/Seven
Links last checked on April 13, 2003.

There isn't much Paris/Seven fic on the web, which I find disappointing. I mean, c'mon, would a horn-dog like Paris be able to pass up a woman like Seven??? Plus, I just like the chemistry between the two actors.

Broken Link. Unexpected Pathways by T'Pam

Adult. T'Pam has written a beautiful story here, one that deftly explores the insecurities and emotions of both Paris and Seven in the relationship that grows between them. One of the supporting characters dies, for those of you who like to be warned of such things. 200+ k

The Object of Her Affection series by Veronica Jane Williams

Adult. I wish there was more P/7 fic out there, especially when it is this good. Seven has set her mind on someone, but is he willing to oblige her?

Enterprise

Acceptable Risk by Kylie Lee

Slash. I've been kind of disappointed in the Enterprise FF so far. I guess I was hoping that more of the awesome writers in the QL fandom would follow Scott Bakula over, but maybe it's just a matter of time. For now though, check out Kylie's incredible series. Moving through several of the first season eps, Kylie really manages to capture Trip and Malcolm in a developing, and sometimes very rocky, relationship. I have to admit that the first four stories are my favourites, but by all means, keep going with the rest of the series.
