The Celtic Knot: A Knitting, Spinning, and Weaving Studio

I am, first of all, a hand-knitter who has been practicing her craft for over 40 years. In the past 10 years, I have been relentlessly pursuing workshops with an emphasis on different knitting traditions around the world. My favorites would include the traditional British and Scandinavian knits. I have attended many workshops in Fair Isle and lace knitting and can now offer charting services.

Since I have been knitting for a long time, I learned to knit texture, color patterns and lace from written instructions. Those were the only instructions available, at the time. The greatest thing to come along the knitting scene is the pattern chart. Whoever said that a picture is worth 1,000 words was right. A good chart, on properly scaled paper, allows you to see an outline of what your pattern should look like when knit.

I do not profess to know all there is about the subject and am constantly learning new techniques. I offer myself as a patient listener and teacher. I can provide guidance in planning a project, resizing a pattern, suggestions on materials for the project at hand, and odd tidbits of information learned the hard way (experience).

I decided a few years ago to learn to spin. I had said in the past that I would not do that because I knew that I would add to my already overwhelming inventory. But, I went for it anyway. I am glad that I did as this is even more relaxing than knitting. I will gladly exchange knitting help for spinning help.

Once I started spinning, weaving seemed like the next order in the progression of my fiber passions. I will soon be having a line of custom table linens and wall hangings.

In the past, I have made custom patterns and have done custom knitting. I will be posting listings of items available for sale from my inventory. I have been in contact with several wholesalers and will soon be offering knitting yarns for sale. I am looking to add spinning fibers to my offerings.

My web page is being refined as I go. Please feel free to drop me an e-mail with any suggestions you may have. Come back soon and see what else is new.

Thank you,

Lesley Campana
