Brian De Palma will shoot Passion exclusively in Berlin, according to an article posted today by Der Tagesspiegel's Andreas Conrad. The original plan a year ago was to set Passion in the U.K., which meant exteriors would be shot in London, while interiors would have been done at a studio in Berlin or Cologne. But now, according to Conrad, not only will the film shoot exclusively in Berlin, but it will all be on location, meaning no studio sets. This makes the project sound all the more thrilling. Conrad states that aside from the obligatory scenes set in office suites, De Palma will shoot Passion at the Sony Center (pictured above), the Bode Museum, and the restaurant Margaux (the interior of which is pictured below).

Geoff - These photos of the locations for Passion are great. It looks as if the visual design possibilities of sensuous architecture in Berlin will rival the locations in Obsession, Blow Out, Untouchables, and Femme Fatale. Beautiful women, and De Palma's designs make a cinema fan proclaim "it's a crime" that so much time has passed since 2007. I wonder if there will be an obscure reference to Torn Curtain? I cannot wait.

Possible news on the casting of the male lead/supporting role of Passion. A German article mentions Dominic Cooper being cast: http://www.mediabiz.de/film/news/ascot-elite-schlaegt-in-berlin-vier-mal-zu/315972

I tried to find more info, but no luck so far.

Now all we need is a train/subway location, can't get enough De Palma scenes taking place at a train station (Blow Out, The Untouchables) or in a subway car (Dressed to Kill, Carlito's Way).

Yes, it will be interesting to see where De Palma plans to stage the murder of the piece, as well. Maybe it will be much like in LOVE CRIME, or maybe another setting. In any case, some of these locations would seem to really alter the feel of the original film into something new and De Palma-esque. It will also be interesting to see what De Palma has planned in the Bode Museum, following Tom Tykwer's big Guggenheim set piece in THE INTERNATIONAL. And of course, after DRESSED TO KILL.

Since I am living in Copenhagen it would be natural to try to attend the shooting. Anyone tried this and know if it's possible and the terms .. and how to get information of dates and place ....?
