N.S.A. were first up on the bill playing their first gig in a number of months with a new bass player. N.S.A. are essentially a punk band that had a catchy sound and had everyone tapping their feet to the beat. They played some oldies ( closed learning and Hangover ) and a new song named "New Song". Despite not playing in a few months N.S.A. played almost flawlessly and most people couldn't tell.
Now were Nausea who had a gig the night before at the Woden Youth Centre. Nausea had changed their set around and because they had a longer time slot included some stuff we didn't here on Friday night like a very good cover of Grinspoon's "Just Ace". Once again the small but friendly crowd got up and moshed away. Nausea are definately a band to watch in the future.
Now came the filler Improv Autopsy. This very interesting duo filled in for about 15 minutes while members of Chumke still turned up. Their band now consists of a keyboarder (Warrick) and bass guitarist (Micheal). The music in very hard to discribe but is what most people would call very different but still it was very funky!!
Chumke are a fairly new band to the Canberra scene but showed no sign of it by playing a very energetic and tight set of funk orintated alternative music. Minor PA troubles came about but the PA wiz Warrick fixed it quickely and Chumke were playing again. They had members of the crowd of their arses and moving to the beat and were encored once and played a long song called Cherry Bomb which included a drum solo. Despite not playing very often Chumke prove to be one of the up and coming acts in Canberra.
