MY FAVORITE STORIES BY STEPHEN KING
"DOLORES CLAIBORN"
"Sometimes being a bitch
is all a woman has"
EXCERP FROM A INTRODUCTION
"Lets talk you & I.
Lets talk about fear. The house is empty as I
write this; a cold February rain is fallig
outside, It's night. Sometimes when the wind
blows the way it's blowing now, we lose the
power, But for now its on, and so let's talk
very honestly about fear. Let's talk very
rationally about moving to the rim of madness
and perhaps over the edge. My name is Stephen
King.
"SALEMS LOT"
"PET SEMETARY"
"OZ
the Gweat and
Towwible has just fallen on top of my son's
coffin"
"I AM THE DOORWAY"
"He stood in the modest suburb
of the dead, looking around. A fine
and priviate place, he thought, but none, I
think, do there embrace.
"ROSE MADDER"
"CARRIE"
"The
lobby was empty. She
paused halfwayup the stairs and FLEX, the
doors all slammed shut under the concentrated
force she directed at
them,..."
"MRS TODDS SHORTCUT"
"All three of them
saw her flail to the surface. Her arms came
up, waving-no not arms. One arm, the other
was covered with a black membrane that hung
in flaps and folds from something red and
knitted with tendons, something that looked a
little like a rolled roast of
beef.
"PET SEMETARY"
"SALEMS LOT"
"The town knew about
darkness...and the darkness
of the human soul."
"THE TALISMAN"
"THE SHINNING"
"...flesh eating
plants that want only to slip around him,
squeeze the life out of him, and drag him
down into a blackness where one sinister word
flashed in red: REDRUM."
"CHRISTINE"
"THE DARK HALF"
"The
nurses were lined up against the glass of the
nurse's station, staring at him. Suddenly
they reminded him of crows on a telephoe
line, crows staring down at something bright
and shiny, something to be pecked & pulled
apart."
"THE STAND"
"And then the wolves,
four of them. had come out of the corn like
ragged sprits of the dead."
"SKELETON CREW"
"His mouth
hung open like a spring door. His expression
was on of abysmal, frozen horror. A package
of Gillette platinum razor blades lay on the
rim of the tub."
NIGHT FLYER
MONSTER IN THE CLOSET
"George's eyes rolled in the picture. They
turned up to meet Bill's own, George's
artificial say-cheese
smie turned into a horrid leer. His rigt eye
drooped closed in a wink; See you soon, Bill
in my closet." Please stop by again.
