I feel that it is important to explain several things to prospective listees before joining and Egroups just doesn't give me the space to do it, and I figure the more I say it the less responsible I am for any annoying thing that happens.
It has been my experience as a list member for several years that the lists I enjoy being a part of the most and that have the most positive impact in my life are the ones that are very open and casual, and where members can post without any fear or apprehension about offending people. It has also been my experience as a list owner and moderator that less fights and interlist skirmishes occur when listees are left to go about as they please.
I don't like a lot of rules, hell, I really don't like any rules. While other lists may feel that rules are necessary to keep order, I abhor that order and enjoy the chaos and craziness that abounds. That being said, the only rule I have is no flaming of other list members, and even that is subject to be ignored, depending on the situation. Just to let you know, if a flame does occur, and I don't find it appropriate or it pisses me off, then you will be verbally castrated and made to feel like the idiot you are. Otherwise, I don't care what you talk about. Nothing is considered off topic, and I have nothing against one liners or signatures. Yaoi is LOVED and ADORED, and I am a self proclaimed shotakon hentai, so don't feel like we aren't an accepting group. I also have no age limit or cutoff cause I think that's a bunch of crap. I've been checking out slash pages and writing smutty fanfics since I was 15 and know I handle that kind of stuff better then most supposed adults. Just to let you know, I am 20 now, and consider myself to be a reasonably intelligent semi-sane adult. This list does deal with "adult" subjects most of the time, and there will be lots of cussing and dirty pictures. If you're gonna get in trouble for being exposed to that sort of stuff, do it on the sly. :o)
This being said, don't join if you can't handle this type of environment. If you are unsure, it is suggested you go on no mail/web only until you can see if the list is right for you. I will not listen or bother with any complaints due to irritation with things like OT or one liners. I myself like to bitch regularly about my state of boredom or how much my toe hurts.
For those of you who used to be a part of Gwingfreaks, or have heard of it, this list is the new incarnation of that list. I loved my precious baby list, but it was time to lay it to rest. *sniffles*
Fanworks of any kind are much loved. We are fanfic and fanart whores, teehee, and eventually we'll probably have a list page and archive.
