DEB'S HEAVY METAL CONCERT PHOTOS

Welcome, take a look around! I've been taking pictures at concerts since I was twelve years old. Mostly goofing off, but becoming more interested as time went by to see what I could capture about a show on film. You will see some of my favorite shots here. Let me know what you think about them.

ROB ZOMBIE BATHED IN FIRE

I shot this one at Ozzfest in Atlanta on June 29th, 1999. I was using a pro camera for a change as opposed to the "point and pray" I've been using for years. This was taken from the 10th row and with quite a barricade also in between myself and Rob Zombie. I would guess at about 45 feet away. My goal was to get a shot of him with fire in the background. With no real idea of when there would be fire I was not able to catch it. I was able to get this shot right after though.

BLACK SABBATH'S BILL WARD SHADOWED IN BLUE

I also took this one at Ozzfest in Atlanta. With Black Sabbath getting use of the entire stage, this put Bill Ward's drum kit at least 50 feet away from me. Drummers are hard to get photo's of at any show without a photo pass. I felt lucky to capture this one.

SLASH'S SNAKEPIT/ROD JACKSON

I shot this one at House Of Blues in Orlando on May 2, 1999. The security mongers at this show were interesting. They would rather tackle someone with a camera rather than break up a fight. I did manage to snap a few before they nabbed me and I had to switch to the back up point and pray. The real challenge in getting these shots was definately security. Though there was a very enthusiastic crowd at this show, it was a small crowd. This made it easier for security to get to people with cameras. It's is much easier when the show is larger to get away with sneaking pictures as security aare busy with other things.
