"Saved by the Bell - the Original Series(SbtB-tOS)" (Grade 9-12)
"Saved by the Bell - the College Years(SbtB-tCY)" (College)
"Saved by the Bell - the New Class(SbtB-tNC)"
GMMB were for the Disney Channel. It ran in the spring of 1989. 14 episodes(including the pilot) were broadcast. The main character was a junior high teacher Miss Carrie Bliss. Her class(except in the pilot) was Zack Morris, Lisa Turtle, Nikki Coleman, Mikey Gonzalez and Screech Powers. After the 14 episodes the Disney Channel didn’t want to continue with the project. So Peter Engel and William F. Phillips took the show to NBC. They changed it very mutch. They changed the name to Saved by the Bell. They changed the settings from JFK, Junior High School in Indianapolis, IN to Bayside High School in Pacific Palisades, CA. The characters of Zack, Screech, Lisa and Mr. Belding were kept. All the other characters from GMMB were dropped. The also added new character. The were: Jessie Spano, A.C Slater and Kelly Kapowski. And now the main character was Zack.

A problem came when Tiffani-Amber Thiessen(Kelly) and Elizabeth Berkley(Jessie) wanted to leave the show in the middle of Grade 12. So Peter Engel came up with a plan. He added a new character instead of Kelly and Jessie. She was Tori Scott(Leanna Creel) Then many strange things happend. In the Tori episodes we didn’t see Kelly and Jessie and vice versa. Why? Tori and Kelly/Jessie must be in different classes! Well this is one of the most mysterious mysteries.
In the end of SbtB-tOS it looked like everyone in the gang would end up in different colleges:
Zack - Yale
Screech - Berkeley
Slater - Iowa
Kelly - Community College
Jessie - Colombia
Lisa - Fashion Institute of Technology
Tori - Illinois
But in SbtB-tCY we saw that Zack, Slater and Screech all ended up in the same college, Berkeley (San Fransisco Bay Area). Strange huh? Well anyway the are suitemates with three girls: Alex Taber, Leslie Burke and Danielle Marks(only in pilot). Their resident director is Mike Rogers. When Tiffani-Amber Thiessen later decided to rejoin the cast Essence Atkins(Danielle) was dropped.
Saved by the Bell - the College Years ran 19 episodes(including pilot). NBC decided to cancel the show. Why? Because of low ratings. SbtB-tCY showed it’s last episode as a one-hour finale, on the 8:th of February, 1994. In the finale Zack and Kelly are getting married(finally). But we can’t see the wedding in the show, we have to watch the movie Saved by the Bell: Wedding in Las Vegas. And so after 5 years on the air, and more than a hundred episodes ended the run of the "Zack Morris era".
When the filming of the SbtB-tOS was over, Producer Peter Engel wanted to keep the succeeded show alive. But the characters had already finished high school. Trouble! So he made a new show called Saved by the Bell - the New Class. For this show he kept Bayside High School and Mr. Belding. A new cast of six students was brought. Scott Erikson, Weasel Wyzell, Tommy De Luca, Megan Jones, Lindsay Warner and Vicki Needleman. Most of the plots of the first season of SbtB-tNC was taken from SbtB-tOS.
SbtB-tNC got a second season. Robert Sutherland Telfer(Scott) was fired because he didn’t act like he should. He were suppose to play a "new Zack Morris". Isaac Lidsky(Weasel) was fired to. Why? Because he wasn’t a good "new Screech". The writers brought Dustin Diamond(Screech) back to the show. He was going to work at Bayside as Mr. Beldings assistant. They did also fire Bonnie Russavage(Vicki). Three new characters were brought to the show: Brian Keller, Bobby Wilson and Rachel Meyers.
Yes! In the third season Spankee Rogers(Bobby), disappeared, Christian Oliver(Brian), was also gone. The original cast member Bianca Lawson(Megan) also disappeared. Rachel, Lindsay, Tommy "D" and Screech were keept. Again, three new characters were be brought: Ryan Parker, R.J. Collins and Maria Lopez.
The New Class continued with a fourth season. This time, finally, Lindsay and Tommy "D" were fired. Rachel, Ryan and Maria continued. Again(!), three new characters were brought: Nicky Farina, Katie Peterson and Eric Little. And Screech Powers returns.
