Review
I got carried away taking notes and writing the entire live that I had to review it separately XD
The concert was a lot better than I'd expected. The songs that sounded weak and pop/silly in the albums were a lot better in Live. New Killer Star was especially amazing, his voice a lot more stronger than the album, and the music is more rock, better drums and bass. Fame was very good. I had always loved this song, and I think there is a kind of significance for this song being played here, as the 3rd number. Photographer Denis O'Regan clearly remembers David Bowie's last concert in Hong Kong, a sell-out show at the Coliseum on December 8, 1983. "It was teh third anniversary of his friend John Lennon's death," O'Regan recalls. "And it was in Hong Kong that the two had last met [before Lennon's murder in 1980], so it was very moving for him. David had a great show and sang Imagine as a tribute. He was visibly upset when he came off stage.--Post Magazine, South China Mornign Post I don't think he's really that much affected now, tho.
The other songs are impressive, too. They are all a lot more powerful than their album forms. Under Pressure is amazing (the bassis is generally extremely handsome and "elagent" with the bass throughout the show, and her singing skills is also very attractive.) She and the keyboardist sang as chorus, but they are also very powerful in a sense that it is an essencial part of the song. Although they sang loudly, Fashion would not be that much a good song if they didn't do so.
I'm lucky to know a good amount of songs here...but even those that I didn't know, the music is quite rock (very enjoyable to me). They re-composed some songs, and that was great as well.
The ending songs: Suffragette City and Ziggy Stardust is, coincidencially, both sang by Kazuya. I found this very intersting, but also a great way to end the concert. The sound of the guitar was "heavy", and the ending was great (I'm not sure if it's because we're TYM fans or what...)
