DALE EARNHARDT

APRIL 29, 1951 - FEBRUARY 18, 2001

Dale Earnhardt was one of the best in NASCAR's highest level. Once known as the NASCAR Winston Cup Series, now the NEXTEL Cup Series, Dale Earnhardt was able to rack up over 50 victories and 7 Winston Cup Series Championships. He tied the record for most championships won by a single driver. The only other driver to win 7 championships was Richard Petty. No one has been able to surpass this record. Besides being a very successful race car driver, he was also a loving husband and father of 4 kids; Kerry, Kelley, Dale Jr, and Taylor. Dale was known as the Intimidator. His nickname came from his rough driving style. Other drivers would be scared to see that black #3 Chevrolet in their rear-view mirror.
