BRITISH NAVAL AND MILITARY CAMPAIGN MEDALS - INTRODUCTION BRITISH NAVAL AND MILITARY CAMPAIGN MEDALS - INTRODUCTION

The next four pages contain illustrations of British Naval and Military Campaign Medals for the period up to 1920. These are taken from plates in the Harmsworth Encyclopaedia of c.1921.

These pages are intended primarily for family historians with military or naval forebares or relations. They are NOT intended to be for the Military History expert, who will, undoubtedly, already have this information.

The illustrations give a good idea of what these medals and their associated ribbons looked like and will, perhaps, enable people to

(a) identify a medal in their possesion

(b) see what a medal awarded to an ancestor or relative looked like

NB: THESE ILLUSTRATIONS AND DESCRIPTIONS ARE SCANNED IMAGES AND WILL NOT BE PICKED UP BY MY SEARCH ENGINE NOR BY THE BROWSER "FIND" BUTTON. YOU WILL NEED TO SEARCH MANUALLY
