Favorite Authors
These are some of my favorite authors. Guaranteed to make me laugh... or to make me scared shitless... or to make me think deep thoughts... or to have me on the edge of my seat... or to make me smile... or anything else, but definitely entertain me.
- Laurell K Hamilton - definitely all of the above and definitely mind candy. She writes supernatural thrillers with something for everyone in them. Her books keep me turning pages long past my bed time.
- Greg Bear - one of the best for "idea" reading. With his sci-fi novels, he takes a concept and develops a whole book around it. Almost with the premise "What if".
- Mecedes Lackey - one of my favorite fantasy writers. Try her heralds of Valdemar books.
- Robert Ludlum - thrillers. You know the kind. The types with CIA agents, Navy SEALS and consperacies and red herrings up the wazoo. Definitely edge-of-your-seat material. My favorite is The Prometheus Deception. Better than The Bourne Identity.
- And of course there are the mainstream favorites of Michael Crichton and John Girsham. Crichton does sci-fi (as you probably know) again with the "What if" premise. Girsham does court and lawyer thrillers and if you've read one, you haven't exactly read them all, but you know what's going to happen in the end. However they're still fun to read.
