Her beauty, a gift from a foreign land, A symbolic torch held in her right hand, Placed upon her head does lie, A crown that graces the New York sky. As our nation grew from shore to shore, We’d always look back at the mother we adore, A woman, a nation, a sister, a friend, She will always be with us until the end. Yes, she witnessed what happened here, As the events unfolded she shed many a tear, But still, she looks on, for wherever our flag is unfurled, She will always be known as: “Liberty Enlightening the World.”
