Prince was born Prince Rogers Nelson on June 7, 1958 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. His father (John Nelson) was a jazz musician. His mother (Mattie Baker) passed away in February 2002. His sister Tyka Nelson is a gospel singer. Prince was married 2 4mer Paisley Park employee Manuela Testolini, who appeared briefly in his 1998 video "Come On"...but she filed 4 divorced in May 2006. This was Prince's 2nd marriage. His 1st was 2 long time girlfriend/NPG dancer Mayte Garcia. 2gether, they had a son born October 16, 1996, who sadly died of premature birth 7 days later.
