"The
animalistic desire to become more than one already is is only
natural. To embrace one's animalistic nature is to become perfect."
[11:44pm
Friday]
Kiva,
dressed in a pair of black bndage pants with zippers and chains and
straps on them and a flesh colored bra with a black mesh top over it
lays on her bed. Her long black hair is spread out on her pillow. She
seems troubled. She has her mesh shirt hiked up so that her stomach
is bare. Mindlessly, Kiva traces the carving that Jessica did on her
with the tip of her perfectly manicured nail. With each tender spot
she smiles after wincing. Some spots have already healed. She smiles
as she remembers all the times she had cut herself and how quickly
she healed each time. Suddenly, she bolts upright in her bed
screaming out Jessica's name.
Kiva:
Jessica Jones!
She
climbs off her bed and opens the closet and searches through it,
tossing out clothes and boxes. When the closet is empty and she still
hadnt found what she had been looking for she rushes down the stairs
to the study. She bursts in and starts searching through the massive
book collection. She hears a voice from behind her.
Voice:
Where is the fire dear?
Kiva
turns to see her Great Aunt Simone. The elderly lady has hair as
white as freshly fallen snow, her skin smooth as a baby's cheek and
fair. Her eyes are bright green. she walks over to her neice and
places a hand on her shoulder.
Simone:
Dear, we need to talk. Please, sit.
Simone
motio9ns to a high backed leather chair and Kiva sits. Simone walks
over to the shelf and plucks a book off of it. With the book crabled
in her arm she takes a seat in a chair similar to the Kiva is in. She
looks at her neice and sighs.
Simone:
Kiva, how much of your childhood do you remember?
Kiva:
Not much Aunt Simone. I remember moving in with Grandma when I was
about seventeen but that was after the accident. I remember a few
things from before the accident but not much. Why do you ask?
She
holds up a book that reads Crestwood Second Grade on the front. Kiva
shakes her head.
Kiva:
Crestwood? Isnt that the town where the
accident was?
Simone:
Where your mother and father was killed by
a drunk driver when you were sixteen and you were in a cokma for a
year as a result of the accident. Yes. this was your yearbook from
second grade.
Simone
opens the thin book and hands it to Kiva.
Simone:
Kiva, you never were a normal young lady. You were always exceptional
in that you were very crafty. You were always smarter than your peers
and because of this, you felt alienated. Until you moved to Crestwood
you didnt have any friends. You were a loner. You used to always tell
your grandmother and I "Nanna, Auntie Simone, the children at
school bore me. They want to play dolls and I want to talk about
adult things. No one understands me." That is, until you met
this girl.
Simone
points to the picture. Kiva looks at her and shakes her head.
Kiva:
She looks so...familiar. Who is she?
Simone:
She was your best friend and now your greatest enemy. Her name...
Kiva:
JESSICA JONES!
Simone:
Yes.
Kiva:
Why are you telling this to me Aunt Simone?
Simone:
Because you need to remember your past to move on in your future.
Although I do not approve of who and what you were when you were a
child, I approve even less of you now. Rather than fight, it would
suit your purposes to join with her.
Kiva:
Yeah right. Never. Thank you Aunt Simone for your help but I've got
this in the bag.
Simone:
Just be careful Kiva.
Kiva
stands and walks back to her room. As she cleans up the mess she had
made she thinks back to her school days. trying to remember how she was.
Kiva:
How could Jessica and I have been friends? I dont remember her. But
then again that could be because of my damn partial amnesia. But then
again, there is that feeling of "home" when I think of her.
Damnit. Why? Ok I have to clear my head. I cant let her distract me.
I need sleep. Yes Sleep.
[7pm
Saturday]
Kiva
is dressed in Jessica's denim pants and the pink teeshirt with
"Dont trust me" written across it. She had altered it
however. She cut it up the midsection and tied it just above her
navel. The jeans she slashed up and ripped the pockets off it it. She
sits indian style in front of a waterfall staring at it, mesmerized.
Kiva:
Jessica, I dont know why or how this became our fates but it seems we
were destined to be in eachother's lives. Evidently as friends and
now as enemies. Dont get me wrong darling, I am not beggin you to
back off, in fact, I am asking you to give it more than your all. I
realize you find me to be untrustworthy but the truth is, I am
perhaps the only person in the world who is trustworthy. On my side
or not, I always follow through on my word. If I am your alie, I do
not turn on you. Last week, I may have lost but this week, I will not
make the same mistakes as I have made in the past. Yes, I came here
and spoke big and in return I let myself down. I realize I was big
headed and untrue to my word but this time...this time will be
different. I have misjudged you but no more.
Kiva
places her head in her hands and her whole body begins to shake.
Kiva:
NO MORE!
She
stands up and dives into the water and way from teh cameraman who
thought he had been hiding well enough from Kiva.
[10pm
Saturday]
Justin
Daniels is sitting in a diner eating dinner. the young woman who had
sat with him in the movie theater is sitting across from him. they
are talking and eating and laughing. Kiva is still dressed in
Jessica's clothes. She sits in the diner nibbling on a slice of
cheese cake and watching Justin, lisatening to every word he says.
she finally hears the woman begin to talk about her husband and Kiva
sighs with relief as she realizes she isnt with him. Suddenly, Kiva
finds her mind wandering to Jessica.
Jessica:
Show me what you got. Show me what you
got. Show me what you got....
Kiva
snaps back and wonders if she isnt really in love with Jessica. She
gets up, leaving money for her cheesecakse on the table and wanders
to an alley. She leans up against the wall near the entrence until
she finds the perfect man. She walks up to a tall muscular man and
smiles coyly at him.
Kiva:
Hey there big boy. Want to have some fun?
She
walks into the alley waving him to follow her with her finger. He
rubs his hands and smiles thinking he's going to get lucky. She pins
him to the wall, one hand on either side of him and kisses him. He
begins to get overzealous and greedy, running his hands all over her
body. She lets him put her against the wall and he begins kissing her
neck and he runs his hands over her breasts. She runs her fingers
through his hair and suddenly begins laughing. At first it sounds
like giggles induced by passion but slowly becomes laughter of
insanity. She grabs his hair and yanks his head back. With her free
hand she reaches down and grabs his crotch. He yelps and tries to
free himself from her iron grip. Kiva shoves him against the wall.
Kiva:
I told you we were going to have some
fun. So let's play....
Half
an hour later Kiva leaves the alleyway and the man stumbles onto the
deserted street beaten, bloodied and bruised. His left eye is missing
and his right arm seems to be either broken or dislocated as it
dangles lifelessly. Chunks of his hair had been ripped out and there
are gashes all over his face probably from being bashed against
multiple objects. Kiva grabs a switchblade from her pocket and turns
to the pathetic man. She flips it open and grins.
Kiva:
Adios Amigo. Say hello to the devil for
me.
She
giggles and flings the blade at the man. it lands square in the
chest. He stumbles backwards making gargling noises and lands back in
the alley.
Kiva:
It'll be a few days before they find him. jessica, you wanted my sick
side, you got it dollface.
She
heads back home. She finds herself walking towards where Jessica is
staying. Finally she is outside the house and wonders why she came
here. She has her hand raised to knock on the door but instead
removes the blood-soaked shirt and places it on the doorstep and
heads home.
Kiva:
What is wrong with me? what indeed?
