Welcome to my speedskating page. My name is Sierra Nevada and I am a 14 year old homeschooled speedskater living in the Orlando, FL metro area. I have only been speedskating for 4 months, so there isn't much to write about...yet. I am a member of the Sunshine State Speedskating Club. We skate at the Ice Factory in Kissimmee, FL and our coach is Doug DeBoy. I am originally from NJ, but I grew up mostly in VA and FL. Before I began speedskating, I was a figure skater for over 6 years and I won over 30 gold medals in that sport. Now, about my skates, they are Bont and the blades are Maple Chrome. I have been using them for a short time but they have made a big improvement in my skating. Recently, we started off-ice training with Coach Doug. He says I am getting faster and better at technique. I am learning more about passing, corners, and starting. I'll keep logging my progress on this site. Now, don't you all feel lucky? LOL. Stay tuned.....
