Rating 3.5

Sergei Maksimov RW 16 6 ft 5 199 lbs R KAZ

Impressive young man has a heavy shot from the point.Makes the first outlet pass look effortless.Great stay at home D man.

Ratings 6

Andrew Cassidy D 19 6 ft 1 215 lbs R CAN

A highly-skilled player,Andrew relied mostly on his offensive skills while in junior.so his defensive skills were more or less neglected until this season. However, his offensive skill-set is impressive. Cassidy boasts a hard shot from the point, which is also usually on net; excellent skating skills, including good speed and acceleration. His first pass out of the zone is solid and usually on target.

Rating 6

Walter Heschuk D 18 5 ft 9 194 lbs R Can

Very small for a D man but is very strong undersized backliner continues to show improvement both offensivly and defencivly in the Englands first Division.

Rating 3.5

Igor Troitsky D 16 5 ft 9 195 lbs R RUS

He is a poised defender, unrattled in defensive situations. He is intelligent with the puck, and uses his good skating ability to advanced the puck, whether he carries or makes the break-out pass.Plays both speciality teams, and likes to dish out hits on the boards.Still growing has a bright future.

Rating 5

Aleksandr Berdichevsky D 19 6 ft 5 218 lbs L RUS

Aleksandr has already developed a nasty physical edge to his game and likes to throw checks. A strong positional player and shot blocker,he is able to keep the opponents in front of him. For a guy his stature, he is a solid skater with good speed and above average lateral movement, but will need to get quicker and anchor better to be a big leaguer. He is also a very effective powerplay quaterback, owning a cannon of a shot maybe one of the hardest point shots.

Rating 6.5

Daniel L'Abbe D 17 5 ft 8 200 lbs R CAN

He is a phenomenal skater with excellent speed, able to reach top speed quickly, and spends much of the game involved in the offense, always able to return and cover back in his own end.The transition game is his greatest strength, because he reads well and has a great on-ice awarenwss offensively. Has thrown some nice open ice hits in junior, is excellent in one on one situations, and is very good at neutralizing opponents in scoring position.

Rating 7.5

Johnny Persson D 25 6 ft 5 199 lbs L USA

He is a deceptively good skater with a good strong and balanced wide stride. Solid defender on the rush, his strong suit is clearing the front, and punishing the opposition with checks, which he does well because of his strength and balance. Can knock opponents off the puck down low.and make them pay in the corners.

Rating 4

Evgeny Zelenko D 18 6 ft 3 204 lbs R POL

Good straight line skater with a strong stride, mobile puck carrier, but also good one on one defensively. He can skate well enough to win position on the attackers and goes to the boards determined to win the battles there too.Great offensive mind can pass and shot with the best of them.

Rating 7

Jean Shutter D 19 6 ft 4 216 lbs L CAN

Understands and plays the game well in all zones. Skates well, and jumps into the play well, while improving his defensive zone coverages.Has a good shot and his passing is below average.

Blessed with great reflexes, Anton is a goalie with superb quickness and agility. He thrives on playing his angles well and his lateral movement is outstanding.Has ice in his veins very good composure for a young kid.Has all the tools to be a top notch goalie.

Rating 7

Larry L'Esperance G 20 5 ft 7 174 lbs R CAN

Hard-working goalie goalie with extremely sound fundamentals who is determined to make the NHL. Very inconsistant for a goalie but the scouts like his work ethic.Could develop into a decent goalie if he keeps working hard.

Rating 6

Randy Gillis G 20 5 ft 9 199 lbs R USA

Good back-up goalie for the minors don't see him being drafted at all.He will definatly be playing in the junoirs next year.

Rating 2

Barrie

Mike Dyhr C 16 6 ft 0 200 lbs R CAN

A great worker on the ice, Mike is a smart player, with good skating ability. He is not afraid to grind and work for the puck. Dyhr is a crafty playmaker who shows good vision, and has shifty east-west mobility. He does not have great breakaway speed.

Rating 5

Sean Allison C 19 6 ft 0 216 lbs L USA

He is sound on both ends of the ice and has shown a leadership quality that he was knocked for early in his career. He has great hands, skates well and has an edge on the ice. These tools point to a career in the HHHL.

Rating 5

Alain Gladney C 17 6 ft 3 200 lbs L CAN

Gladney's best quality his is speed and agility. Even though he doesn't look especially fast, even for a 6'3” player; Gladney's quick on his skates and has exceptional agility, but lacks an explosive acceleration. Offensively, Gladney can be deadly because he's extremely good at carrying the puck through dense traffic and he has a 6th sense for finding and exploit the small openings that his speed and puck-handling can create.

Rating 6.5

Oleg Ivanov C 18 5 ft 9 191 lbs R RUS

Good speed and quick acceleration. Plays well in the corners and makes acurate tape-to-tape passes. Needs to shoot more.A second line/third line player who proveds energy and can set the tone of play.

Rating 6

Bill Boston C 19 6 ft 5 201 lbs R USA

Great straight away speed.A talented defensive forward with good on-ice vision and leadership qualities.A thirdline defensive specialist not unlike John Madden in New Jersey.

Rating 5.5

Aaron Jacobsen C 17 5 ft 11 193 lbs L SWE

A skilled two-way player with a nice blend of size and skill,a great stickhandler and a good skater, although he lacks speed. He possesses a good scoring touch, a deadly shot and the ability to make the tape-to-tape pass to his teammates. He has great hockey sense and is very competitive. Is defensively responsible in his own zone and has the speed to catch players on the backcheck.

Rating 6

Aleksandr Klimovich LW 18 6 ft 4 196 lbs L LAV

He's definitely one of the fastest prospects; but what's more is that he uses his speed to his advantage. His offensive skills are excellent; Klimovich's has great hands, is a good passer, and, when he uses it, has a great shot. His hockey sense is good. Good along the boards, top notch D forward.

Rating 7.5

Randy McKechney LW 17 5 ft 7 191 lbs L CAN

An excellent skater, Randy has worked hard to develop this facet of his overall game. He has a good shot coming off the wing, and has improved in that respect as well. Continues to exhibit the work ethic that has brought him much praise from opposing scouts.

Rating 5.5

Mike Larocque LW 18 6 ft 1 204 lbs L CAN

Potential power forward. Big, bruising winger with solid goalscoring instincts and a soft touch around the net. Very strong on the puck and has an above-average slapshot. Excellent at going strong to the net and collecting garbage goals. Very effective on the power play, where he loves to camp out on the edge of the opposition crease and is extremely difficultt for opposing defenders to move.

Rating 7.5

Dan Morgan LW 16 5 ft 10 178 lbs L USA

Dan has a pretty well rounded offensive game, although it's lacking in any real dynamic skills. Above-average skater with good balance and agility. Has good hands and some playmaking ability, although he isn't top-6 material. Doesn't have a great shot. Lack of size will hurt him against NHL defenders. Has a terrific work-ethic and is an above-average defensive player. But Dan is young could be a big sleeper.

Rating 6

Pavel Volak LW 20 5 ft 9 211 lbs L CZE

A pesky forechecker and, although he isn't overly big, a player who really sticks his nose in and battles for loose pucks. A very good penalty killer who's a real threat to score shorthanded. Can occasionally be chippy and involved physically and shows some signs of developing into a bit of an agitator.

Rating 5

Yvon Fiset LW 16 6 ft 3 234 lbs L FRA

He's really started to round out his game this year and has emerged as a better prospect as the season has worn on. The former Junior A star has shown improved touch around the net and has begun to play a more consistent physical game.Needs to play a season in junoir but his size is scary for a 16 yr old.

Rating 4

Josh Dallaire RW 17 6 ft 2 205 lbs R CAN

Has very fine offensive skills. He reads the game well and has shown a great attitude.Best asset is a heavy slapshot, although he needs to work on getting it away quicker. Has decent hands and, when he's on his game, goes to the net well to collect garbage-type goals.

Rating 5

Henrik Olsn RW 20 6 ft 1 186 lbs R FIN

Straight-line speed is decent for a player of his size, although he doesn't have a lot of agility or an extra gear. Puckhandling skills are weak and his vision is below-average. Very streaky player - the sort of guy who'll score 6 goals in 8 games, then go another 20 before he scores again. Can be gritty and a force in the corners, but is invisible a lot of nights in that regard. Can score has a deadly shot.

Rating 4.5

Pat Beauregard RW 19 5 ft 10 214 lbs R CAN

He has ok speed, with an impressive work ethic. His shot is decent, but his vision is above average. He's a strong competitor despite his small stature, and uses his solid offensive instincts to his advantage.

Rating 4

Gerry Cardinal RW 18 6 ft 3 206 lbs R USA

Terrific, natural skater. Excellent agility & balance. Creative with the puck. Intense & focused. Shoots really well.Defensive game needs more work.Looks to have the skills to be a true offensive talent.Averaging more then a point a game.

Rating 7

Brad Dingman RW 17 5 ft 11 207 lbs R CAN

Excellent skater, very quick, improving offense, intense, good penalty killer, budding leadership.prospect with both skill and tenacious discpline, too little muscle, very average shot, must fight through checks better.

Rating 5

Darryl Kaszycki RW 17 6 ft 2 191 lbs R USA

Blinding speed.has a true creative flair.good hands.very high upside. Rather poor defensive player. Will either be a top six forward, or won't play in the HHHL.Needs another year in junoir.

Rating 4

*Denis Labelle D 16 6 ft 0 200 lbs L CAN

He is an incredible skater who can take the puck from one end of the ice to another with ease. He has a great shot and a good on ice vision in terms of setting his teammates up for scoring chances. He has a very intense competitive streak and is not afraid to drop the gloves, he is a great positional defenceman which means he is smart enough to join the rush or he knows to stay back.

Rating 7 Morris Tipler D 19 5 ft 9 189 lbs R CAN

He is very good at making the first pass through a several players, and hit his target right on the mark. This is obviously a valuable skill both on offense and defense. But he is very small for a D man and thats why he won't make the HHHL.

Rating 3

Aleksandr Milijto D 16 6 ft 3 223 lbs R KAZ

A strong, smooth skater straight ahead, in reverse, as well as in transition. Features an effective offensive game, highlighted by above average anticipation and vision, as well as excellent passing skills and a heavy slap shot. Gets the job done in the defensive zone, playing his angles well, he does not shy away from playing physical, and his hip-checking abilities are infamous.

Rating 8

Sergei Boychenko D 17 6 ft 0 202 lbs R Rus

Sergei is a good stay at home D man thats strong on his skates.Has impressive speed and acceleration and is also a very swift backwards skater.Has very good hockey sense and anticipates the play very well.Has strong passing skills and carries the puck with confidence and has a mean streak.

Rating 6.5

Alexandre Beausejour D 19 6 ft 3 223 lbs L FRA

He has good size and grit, but like most physical defensemen, his skating could be improved.A gentle skater with a smart stay at home technique. A season or two in North America or Sweden would help him learn more of the techniques needed to succeed in successfully defending the front of the net.

Rating 4

Mathieu Jones D 17 6 ft 4 211 lbs R CAN

In his own zone, he is a solid defenseman, but when the puck is on his blade, it's another story. has a tendency to give the puck away, make a bad pass, or he makes a poor pinching decision. His size is a big asset,as he seems to be towering over many opponents. He could be more physical; he seems to lack a bit of a mean streak.

Rating 4

Frantisek Martine D 17 5 ft 11 207 lbs L NOR

Frantisek is a solid defenseman with a promising offensive upside. He possesses impressive speed and great coordination. He possesses a strong and well aimed shot. He is also a solid power play quarterback. He however was not very physical.

Rating 6

Sergei Khramchenko D 19 6 ft 3 200 lbs R LAV

He has yet to grow into his large frame, and become the physical force he could be. Nor does he utilize his size to clear out the crease, or force smaller players to the perimeter. Looks to jump into the play and has impressive transition skills. Can really fire the puck from the point, and was an elite PP quarterback.

Rating 7

Dominic Beauchamp D 20 5 ft 9 203 lbs L CAN

Skating is below average, and coupled with his size presents a major problem. Smart player who reads the play pretty well in his own zone, but has a tendancy to gamble a bit too much offensively. Plays with an edge, but doesn't really have the size to be overly effective in that regard at the pro level.

Rating 5

Cyle Corcoran G 17 6 ft 1 180 lbs R CAN

.Is technically sound and covers a lot of the net - doesn't give shooters a lot to look at. Does a good job smothering rebounds. His one big weakness is his slow feet and lack of mobility ... if the opposition can force him to move around a lot, he's in trouble.

Rating 6.5

Petr Lipensky G 19 6 ft 0 200 lbs R SWZ

Petr is an aggressive goalie that likes to challenge shooters. He has excellent reflexes. He is a butterfly goalie with very good size. He admits to "playing to the crowd" and likes to dramatize saves.

Rating 5.5

Francis Bellows G 17 5 ft 8 209 lbs R USA

Long term prospect. Needs more weight training and stamina. Must develop glove and positioning.

Rating 3

Chicoutimi

Olivier Sejba C 18 6 ft 5 207 lbs L FIN

He has great vision of the ice and uses his hockey sense effectively. Dmitri is not a liability defensively, showing potential as a two way forward.Oliver is a great athlete, but has yet come to grasps with his large frame. He is not very aggressive or physical on the ice, preferring to use speed instead of strength.

Rating5.5

Vladimir Fanduls C 19 6 ft 1 217 lbs L GEO

Rating 5.5

Maksim Tsurenkov C 19 6 ft 4 196 lbs R RUS

Rating 5

Eric McNamee C 17 6 ft 1 223 lbs L CAN

Rating 6.5

Aleksandr Kozlov C 19 6 ft 0 190 lbs L RUS

Upside- All around player who can play on second or third line, play in all situations and chip in with points. Is an adept stickhandler, likes the inside-outside move.Needs to come to North America but we see a star in the making.

Rating 7

A great player, offensively gifted, hard working,Francois can play aggresively and dominate along the boards. Very good skater with a perfect hockey sense and vision. Knows how to use his body, isn't afraid to go the net.We feel that he would be better as a winger he has a wicked shot.

Rating 7

Dmitri Ilyin LW 17 6 ft 0 181 lbs L KAZ

He has a good, accurate shot, and a quick release that is common amongst good goal-scorers. In spite of his slight build, does not shy away from the heavy traffic, and he in fact has a knack for getting behind the opposition’s defense to create scoring opportunities for himself and his teammates.

Rating 6

Pavel Krayzel LW 17 6 ft 1 215 lbs L CZE

Pierre McGregor C 17 5ft.9 180 ENG

Rating: 3

Mike Liebel C 6ft.1 214 CAN

Has the body and size to play in the pros but won’t be asked to score much. Could become a decent checking line center with his drive and size. Liebel is a smart player who has good defensive awareness.

Rating: 5.5

Vladimir Loginov C 17 5ft.8 210 RU

Small but aggressive, in time Loginov could become a Theoren Fleury type because he can score. A good forechecker but he may need to work on control and staying out of the penalty box sometimes. May be prone to injury because of his size.

Rating: 6.5

Hans Lennord C 18 5ft.7 190 SWE

Didn’t receive much playing time this past season so he’s a risk for the time being. His very small size will probably limit his opportunities in the future. A good skater which will have to get better to avoid injury.

Rating: 3

Chris Mathison LW 17 6ft.1 211 USA

Decent left wing doesn’t stand out much from other players but could be a consistent player. His 6ft.1 frame will help against NHL size. Probably will be on a checking line unless his shot and offensive awareness develops more.

Rating: 4.5

Ken Romano LW 18 6ft.3 208 CAN

Mikael Leonard RW 18 5ft.9 183 CAN

Leonard’s size limited his playing time this season. As it stands he’s a risk because scouts haven’t seen enough of his game. Below average game.

Rating 2.5

Herbert Smith RW 18 5ft.9 217 USA

Slightly larger than Mikael Leonard but that wasn’t enough to earn him real playing time. Might not be worth the risk at his age. Size could prove painful because of injuries. Is a strong skater though.

Rating: 2.5

John Quigley RW 16 6ft.1 229 CAN

Quigley doesn’t contribute much offensively but could be on a checking line in the future. Scouts like his aggressive game and the fact that he’s only 16 means he will probably develop more. Good defensively and is an above average skater.

Good size and agility. Works hard and played to a .500 record of 20-20-3. Had a decent save percentage at Guelph but because goalies need more time to develop it’s hard to tell where he could end up. Decent glove but has quick feet and moves the puck intelligently.

Rating: 6

Feisty and a sparkplug on the team, Lundgren isn’t a goal scorer but can make good passes and play defensively. Could become a really good player if he could stay out of the box. Size may be a negative factor on his career.

Rating: 7

Libor Slegr LW 17 6ft.0 185 RUS

A fast skater but not very aware on the ice. Loses focus and doesn’t play up to his ability. Sat on the bench most of the year.

Rating: 3

Mike Jones LW 18 6ft.4 222 USA

Picks up goals by using his size to park in front of the crease and create screens and draw attention from defenders. Could score more if he was a better skater.

Rating: 5

Jean-Michel Cullen RW 17 5ft.10 208 CAN

Played in only 3 games because of injury but played well in those games. Fast skater with an accurate shot but his size could limit his time on the ice with continued injury.

Rating: 4.5

Charles Atcheynum RW 17 6ft.2 215 AUS

Big winger who gets most of his points with hard work and being aggressive. Decent skater for his size. Will never be a great scorer but could be a consistent 3rd or 4th liner.

Rating: 5.5

David Anastasio RW 18 6ft.3 196 RUS

Two-way player who has a lot of potential. Can score, get the puck to teammates and play defensively well at his position. Excellent skater for his size.

Rating: 7.5

Iannique Amodeo RW 18 6ft.5 216 BEL

Poor skater who didn’t get much ice time even though he’s a big body. Wasn’t a threat to defensemen and needs to develop more offensively.

Rating: 2

Jeff Tessier RW 17 5ft.10 186 CAN

Checking line winger. Occasionally scores but is mainly on the ice because of his aggressive play and skating ability.

Rating: 5

Guy Haas RW 17 6ft.3 218 USA

Doesn’t work very hard and it cost him a spot on the ice night in and night out. Couldn’t get acquainted with the offense quick enough for the coaches liking.

Rating: 2

Pavel Khmylev D 16 6ft.0 202 RUS

Great skater with poor hands. Did not play because of the fact that he makes big mistakes at bad times.

Rating: 2

Jacques Langlois D 18 6ft.3 230 FRA

Huge body, hard shot, great passing ability. Could be a great point man someday.

Rating: 8

Francois Cloutier D 19 6ft.2 186 CAN

Was expected to be a decent player but was benched most of the season because of injury and poor work habits.

Rating: 3

Marc Gauthier D 18 6ft.3 202 CAN

Good defensemen who has a hard shot but could be more accurate. Picked up a good amount of assists because of his work on the powerplay alongside Langlois. Scouts aren’t sure which defensemen is better.

Rating: 8

Dmitri Levesque D 17 5ft.7 200 CZE

Too small to receive much ice time, Levesque couldn’t find a rythym when he did. Needs to work on his awareness but is a decent skater.

Rating: 3

Grant Biggs D 17 6ft.2 218 USA

Tough defensemen who gets in the other teams face and occasionally scores. Mainly uses his size to force offensive players off their game.

Rating: 5

Claude Busenberg D 17 5ft.9 174 FRA

Excellent at passing the puck up ice to start the rush. Decent shot and accuracy. His size creates problems defensively.

Rating: 6.5

Cleon Cote D 17 6ft.0 212 CAN

Aggressive and strong. Scores occasionally but not enough to be a real offensive threat in the future. Needs to work on his skating a little to help him stay out of the box.

Rating: 4.5

Simon Levallee D 17 6ft.1 217 ENG

Will never be a scorer but plays decent defense, which was enough to earn him a spot. His size gives him an advantage in the corners but he could become a solid player with some more offensive production.

Rating: 4

Jacques Freer G 18 6ft.5 218 CAN

Big goalie, he doesn’t have the mobility most teams want but he has a decent glove and controls the bottom half of the net with his size.

Rating: 5

Mikko Jrvenp G 19 5ft.8 171 FIN

Didn’t see much time behind Proshkin and Freer but did show positive signs in practices and scrimmages. Needs to work on his glove and puck control.

Rating: 3

Denis Proshkin G 17 5ft.10 190 CZE

Good mobility and had a wicked glove during the season. Could work on his pad play and learn to move the puck a little better. Has the potential to be a solid goalie with development.

Rating: 6.5

PRINCE GEORGE

Tony Fndriks - C - 19 - 5’9” - 180 lbs - L - Canada

Hurt all season. Has really hurt his chances of being drafted in the first three rounds. Last year was among top eligible players for the draft, but a bad attitude and poor work ethic prevented being picked at all. Has the tools, but no tool box.

Rating - 3

Jodi Roy - C - 16 - 6’3” - 196 lbs - R - Canada

Prince George’s first pick in the midget draft last year. Currently playing in Tier 2. Has monstrous size and decent hands, his real strength is as a defensive player. Will be counted on next year in Prince George.

Rating - 7

Sergei Potaichuk - C - 18 - 6’0” - 204 lbs - R - Finland

22 goals and 47 points in 41 GP has turned a few scouts heads. He may not be tall, but he is wide. Most scouts feel he is a shoe-in to make it in HHHL. Extremely fast player who has adapted to the North American style of game. Doesn’t look to instigate, but has dropped the gloves when necessary. First European to where the “C” in Prince George history.

Rating - 8

Andrei Kuvaldin - C - 18 - 6’3” - 223 lbs - L - Russia

A player with the size to possibly have a career as a pro, most likely not at the HHHL level however. A longshot to make it.

Rating - 4

Andrei Tsurenkov - C - 17 - 6’3” - 201 lbs - R - Russia

Another big Russian playing for Prince George. He is a goal scoring machine. Thus far in the juniors he has 38 goals in 41 games. Has Bure type speed. Will most likely turn out as a winger.

Rating - 8.5

Normand Crete - C - 17 - 5’8” - 191 lbs - L - Canada

Normand, son of Prince George GM Peter Crete, is looked at by scouts as “not much”. He lacks size, hockey sense, and speed. Has 11 points in 41 games thus far.

Rating - 1

Steve Lawson - LW - 17 - 5’11” - 199 lbs - L - Canada

A hard-nosed player. Steven contributes at both ends of the ice. Seems to improve every game. Is not very tall, but is built like a truck. Potential to be a great checker in HHHL.

Rating - 6

Vitaly Bakmutov - LW - 18 - 5’8” - 173 lbs - R - Russia

Bakmutov is a player with 4th line HHHL skills. The only problem with him is his lack of size. His work ethic has been questioned ever since Prince George took him in the import draft.

Rating - 3

Mathieu Lambert - LW - 17 - 5’11” - 179 lbs - L - Canada

Great Intensity and a talented passer, Lambert will go in the HHHL entry draft, the question is, what round. Has a good skill set, but as is almost always the case, size matters. Lambert will be looking to prove some people wrong.

Rating - 7

Michel Bedard - LW - 17 - 6’2” - 202 lbs - L - Canada

Bedard will be looked at next year to play full time in Prince George. Hasn’t played in Juniors as of yet, but has good size.

Rating - 4

Aleksander Zolotov - LW - 18 - 6’2” - 204 lbs - R - Germany

Zolotov is a Russian who grew up playing in the Canadian-Style German system. He plays a very tough game, and has been compared by many to a Mike Ricci type player. Will play in HHHL.

Rating - 7

Dustin Coupal - RW - 18 - 5’8” - 200 lbs - R - Canada

The top player in Price George. Smallish at 5’8”, but it doesn’t seem to effect his game at all. Very tough. Leads the team in scoring with 65 points in 41 games. Scouts notice his 138 PIM’s and know this guy could be a franchise player.

Rating - 9.5

Dave Corbin - RW - 17 - 6’1” - 208 lbs - R - Canada

A decent scorer, Corbin is known more as a checker. Playing currently with a +14 in Prince George, Corbin is one of the many great checkers on the team.

Rating - 5

Shane Routhier - RW - 19 - 6’0” - 216 lbs - R - Canada

14 points in 41 games is a far cry from last season when he lits the lamp 52 times. Routhier blew out his left knee in the playoffs last season and was not drafted into HHHL. He has not been the same player since coming back this season either. An HHHL team may take a chance on this guy, hoping he can get healthy and regain his old form.

Rating - 6

Kyle Bouchard - RW - 18 - 6’3” - 209 lbs - R - Canada

A disappointing season for Kyle, who was looked at by Prince George brass as a potential junior star when they picked him in the midget draft. Kyle has yet to crack the line-up.

Rating - 2

Cam Clague - RW - 17 - 6’3” - 221 lbs - R - Canada

Very big player. Sees very limited ice time. Probably the top heavyweight in the junior ranks today. Clague has only been in 5 fights this season, winning them all. Nobody want to come near this guy.

Rating - 7

Sergey Lazarenko - RW - 17 - 6’0” - 200 lbs - L - Russia

Lazarenko has been a mojor disappointment in Prince George. He has not gotten along at all with teammates and is looked at as a moody player. Very inconsistent.

Rating - 1

Brandon Scazano - D - 19 - 5’11” - 211 lbs - R - USA

Second in scoring among D-men in Prince George. Very tough, he’s accumulated 286 PIM in his first 37 games on the blueline. Looked at as a player in the Scott Stevens mold.

Rating - 7.5

Yanick Mongrain - D - 18 - 5’9” - 178 lbs - L - Canada

A very slick defender, Mongrain’s size will most likely limit his effectiveness at the next level in his career. He’s not afraid to mix it up though.

Rating - 6

Anton Ivanov - D - 19 - 5’9” - 205 lbs - R - Russia

Same position as Mongrain. Ivanov’s size will most likely prevent him from being drafted this season as it did last year

. Rating - 3

Todd Caissie - D - 17 - 6’5” - 223 lbs - R - Croatia

Could go very high in the HHHL draft. A monster of a defenceman, Cassie is near a point-a-game pace and will most likely be a top-five pick. Blue-chip. Can skate, pass, hit, and is outstanding in the defensive zone.

Rating - 9.5

Dmitri Maximenko - D - 19 - 5’10” - 186 lbs - L - Russia

Injured the first 20-odd games of the season, Maximeko is just getting into the groove. A great power play defenceman, Maximenko has been paired with Caissie to give Prince George one of the top blue-line tandems in the league. Scouts wonder if Maximenko is just riding on Caissie’s coat-tails, or if he really is this good.

Rating - 7.5

Ryan Milliea - D - 18 - 5’10” - 206 lbs - L - USA

Milliea was a high school All-American from the Boston area. He really has not fully adjusted to the faster-paced junior game. Could be a good defenceman if given the time to develop.

Rating - 5

Igor Dryndin - D - 17 - 6’5 - 232 lbs - L - Russia

Labelled “Big Red” by his teammates because of his size and his Russian backround, Dryndin has is a great team player. He has not played a game as of yet due to injury, but this happy-go-lucky Russian can do great things with and without the puck.

Rating - 6.5

Richard Cote - D - 19 - 6’3” - 211 lbs -L - Canada

Another one of Prince George’s seemingly endless supply of hard-nosed defenceman. Is overshadowed by some of the great D on the team. Cote could wind up as a very solid HHHL player for a very long time.

Rating - 7

Greg Hampson - D - 16 - 6”4” - 235 lbs - R - Canada

People look at Hampson and all they see is a Caissie one year ago. If it was his draft year, he would almost assuredly go along with Caissie as one of the top picks in the draft. His combonation of size, speed, and hockey smarts are pretty rare.

Rating - 9

Todd Wilson - G - 18 - 6’2” - 224 lbs - L - USA

Lost his back-up job to Greg Lahaie at training camp. Has not seen any action other than in practice. Scouts say his feet are too slow and he has a weak glove.

Rating - 2

Nikolai Ilyin - G - 19 - 6’3” - 230 lbs - USA

Grew up in Russia but born in USA. Ilyin currently boasts a 24-14-2 record for a powerful Prince George team. Has good size and outstanding quickness. His quirky personality goes hand-in-hand with the goaltending position.

Rating - 8

Greg Lahaie - G - 17 - 6’2” - 228 lbs - R - Canada

Currently the back-up in Prince George. Lahaie currently has better numbers than Ilyin in limited action. Will assume the role of number 1 next season. Has all the tools to make it to the next level

Rating - 7

SASKATOON

Matt Drynan - C - 19 - 5’8” - 207 lbs - L - Canada

Drynan has shown scouts an incredible skating stride. However, he has to work on his other skills like shooting and passing to make it to the next level. Has a great work ethic in practice and is known as a “team guy”.

Rating - 5

Denny Sarault - C - 17 - 5’7” - 206 lbs - R - Canada

Only 17, Sarault is still trying to crack the line-up on a veteran-laden Saskatoon squad. Next year will be pivtol in Denny’s development.

Rating - 2

Gaetan Seder - C - 16 - 6’4” - 215 lbs - R - Sweden

Scouts have had this kid labeled a superstar since he was 10 years old. He came over to play in Canadian Juniors when he was 14 and has played well this year in Saskatoon. He’s got the size to be a physical factor on the ice. He also has incredible skills. He led the Swedish Junior team to a Silver Medal at last years WJC’s. He’s been labeled the next Peter Forsberg, the only catch is, he’s got for inches on Forsberg.

Rating - 9

Guy Napolitano - C - 19 - 5’10 - 194 lbs - R - Italy

Yet to crack the line-up in Saskatoon. Guy has a keen mind for the game of hockey. Unfortunatley, he does not possess the size or skills to be an effective player on the ice. Napolitano is expected to join the Saskatoon coaching staff once his junior eligibility runs out.

Rating - 2

Jonas Frost - C - 18 - 5’10” - 182 lbs - L - USA

Frost is the complete package. He reminds many of Pat Lafontaine, another great American scorer, but he has much more of a physical aspect to his game. He currently leads Saskatoon in scoring and is team captain. He’s not afraid to throw his weight around and is very solid producer on the power play. Will go in the first round. A smart team’s choice.

Rating - 8.5

Paul Thibeault - LW - 19 - 5’9” - 207 lbs - L - Canada

A first line player on Saskatoon, Thibeault has had a very disappointing year on Frost’s wing. He is capable of 50 goals, yet has not shown that same spark he had in previous seasons. A high-risk, high-reward pick.

Rating - 5

Tyler Berube - LW - 17 - 5’7” - 200 lbs - L - Canada

Son of former NHL tough guy Craig Berube. Tyler Berube style is the complete opposite of his fathers. Tyler has been known to score the clutch goal throughout his young career. Look for him to eventually make it to HHHL, as he shares his father’s outstanding work ethic and desire.

Rating - 6.5

Ron Steenbergen - LW - 18 - 6’4” - 226 lbs - R - Sweden

Steenbergen has the size that scouts in HHHL like, however, his skill set will most likely take a few years to develop. A project player.

Rating - 4

Dale Bobyck - LW - 19 - 6’0” - 187 lbs - L - USA

Bobyck has not seen the ice in over a year after major knee re-construction surgery. Last year he was one of Saskatoon’s best players and exhibited great passing and skating skills. Will he be drafted this year after being passed over last season?

Rating - 6.5

Mark Domenichelli - LW - 18 - 6’0” - 198 - L - Canada

The younger brother of NHL player Nat Dominechelli, Mark has shown a good scoring touch around the net and especially on the power play. Also share the same blazing speed of his older brother. Will go most likely go early in the 2nd round of the HHHL draft.

Rating - 7

Paul Dandurand - LW - 19 - 6’3” - 200 lbs - L - Canada

Leading Saskatoon is goals, Dandurand is a sure-fire 1st-rounder. He has good size, is an excellent skater and has a will to win. Played for Team Canada in the WJC’s and was one of their top performers at the tourney.

Rating - 8.5

Jaroslav Martinek - RW - 16 - 5’8” - 198 lbs - R - Czech Republic

Martinek at only 16, is not expected to be a major contributor to the Saskatoon franchise. He will be looked at in the future to be a scorer on a team that is in desperate need of goals. Will have to prove himself next season.

Rating - 4

Wally Hicks - RW - 19 - 5’10” - 206 lbs - R - Canada

An all-around player and leader, Hicks is often looked at as the guy who always plays against the opposing teams top player, acting a s a shadow. Will make the HHHL as a defensive forward who chips in the odd goal.

Rating - 7

Kristian Lahaie - RW - 18 - 6’5” - 216 lbs - R - Finland

A monster at 6’5”, Kristian is an effective passer and defensive player as most players from Finland are. As most players his size, he will “grow into” his size slowly and will most likely take longer to develop.

Rating - 6

Miroslav Sykora - RW - 19 - 6’0” - 185 lbs - R - Czech Republic

An outstanding skater, Miroslav will most likely find himself playing in the HHHL one day. He suffered a torn hamstring in training camp and will most likely start his season in the second half of the year. Could be a star. Rumours of him being a selfish player hover over him and might affect his draft position.

Rating - 7.5

Serge Salvucci - RW - 17 - 5’7” - 199 lbs - L - Mexico

The first Mexican-born player to play in Major Junior, Serge has shown that even with his limited size, he can be quite effective. Serge has only been playing hockey for the past 5 years and has improved dramatically every year. Another year in junior could see him rack up some better numbers.

Rating - 5.5

Darwin Mercer - D - 19 - 5’9” - 202 lbs - R - USA

A banging defenceman, Mercer may see his career end at the end of his junior eligibility. His lack of size would make it extremely difficult for him to perform in the HHHL. He plays a banging style, and most scouts think that at 5’9”, he won’t be able to play that way in the bigger and faster HHHL.

Rating - 2.5

Darren St. Hilaire - D - 16 - 5’11” - 193 lbs - L - Canada

Currently tied for the team lead in defence scoring, he also has 203 PIM in 42 games. St. Hilaire has the skills to be a great defender in HHHL someday. He has some scouts already thinking he could be a top-5 pick in next season’s draft.

Rating - 8

Daniel Pipa - D - 19 - 5’11” - 195 lbs - R - Scotland

Pipa has a limited skill set and has not been able to crack the line-up yet this season.

Rating - 1

Nilsson Wiklander - D - 17 - 5’10” - 200 lbs - R - Sweden

Wiklander is a very mobile defender with outstanding defensive instincts. Will never be much at the offensive end of the ice, but is one of the top stay-at-home defenders in all of Junior hockey already at 17 years of age.

Rating - 8

Al Lindal - D - 18 - 5’9” - 205 lbs - L - USA

Solid at both ends of the ice, Lindal is not afraid to mix it up either. He has been in 10 fights already in his first 42 games. Will score with his booming shot from the point. One of the bright spots on the Saskatoon Blueline.

Rating - 7.5

Shaun MacRae - D - 19 - 6’3” - 213 lbs - L - Canada

Good size and good hockey sense help to cover up weak skating. An all-around defenceman, could be a player that some teams take a look at in the upcoming draft. Other than being a weak skater, scouts are hard-pressed to find any other flaws in his game.

Rating - 8.5

Tuomas Kostichkin - D - 16 - 5’11” - 203 lbs - R - Russia

Probably one of the fastest skaters in all of the hockey world, including the HHHL. Kostichkin’s father was an Olympian for the old USSR, competing in the Bobsled. Kostichkin reminds many of Phil Housley, but some say his skating is more reminiscent of another hockey great; Bobby Orr. Teams will be lined up to draft this kid in next season’s entry draft.

Rating - 9

Greg Nowak - D - 19 - 5’11” - 205 lbs - L - Canada

Nowak is considered the strongest defenceman on a star-studded Saskatoon blueline which could see anywhere from 4-6 players taken in the draft. He currently leads them in points and PIM’s. Some scouts are wary of him however; they’re not sure how his undisciplined play will translate to the pro game.

Rating - 8.5

Dave Ireland - D - 19 - 5’10” - 200 lbs - R - USA

Ireland is considered a fringe prospect by many. His future most likely will see him play in Europe or in the minor leagues.

Ranking - 1

Teddy Sittler - G - 16 - 6’5” - 240 lbs - L - Canada

The largest goalie in Major Junior, Teddy is the nephew of former Toronto Maple Leaf great Darryl Sittler. He covers most of the net and is most likely headed for a long career in the HHHL. Teams will have to wait another season or two before they can get their hands on him however.

Rating - 8

Vladimir Rushton - G - 19 - 6’3” - 219 lbs - L - Russia

Ruston has been a workhorse for Saskatoon, starting the first 42 games of the season. His numbers don’t show what the guy brings to the team. He’s one of those ‘tenders that give his team a chance to win every night. Will most certainly be drafted in the upcoming HHHL draft.

Rating - 7

Dave Kay - G - 18 - 6’0” - 200 lbs - R - USA

Kay has been stuck in a numbers game in Saskatoon, he’s not been able to get much ice behind Rushton. He’s only seen action in the mop-up role. Plays the classic butterfly style as most junior goalies these days. Will a team take a flyer on him this season? Not likely, he hopes to be the number one goalie next season in Saskatoon.

Rating - 5

SHAWINIGAN

Guy Lindal - C - 16 - 5’6” - 173 lbs - R - USA

Only 16, Lindal is fighting for ice time in Shawinigan. Very quick but also very small. He needs to add some size to his frame if he wishes to continue his career past junior.

Rating - 2

Casey Haddon - C - 18 - 5’8” - 174 lbs - L - Canada

Haddon has yet to play this season. He has stated that he would like to continue his career at a Canadian University, citing his education as his top priority over hockey.

Rating - 1

Pierre Pagquin - C - 17 - 5’9” - 193 lbs - R - Canada

Has produced as a rookie in Shawinigan. Pagquin has HHHL skills. A great passer and an outstanding skater; he will most likely suit up for a HHHL team down the road.

Rating - 6.5

Marek Kasik - LW - 19 - 6’3” - 223 lbs - L - Slovakia

Good size and speed. A sufferer of the dreaded “tools, but no tool box” syndrome. Could be a usefull player if he ever got his head straight. Has not adjusted well to the North American culture or the overly physical Junior game.

Rating - 3.5

Robb Lowes - LW - 17 - 5’8” - 196 lbs - L - USA

With only 2 goals in the first half of the junior campaign, Lowe is not considered an offensive threat. Shawinigan may move him to defence next season as he has shown tremendous defensive instincts.

Rating - 4.5

Michel Masnick - LW - 17 - 6’2” - 228 lbs - L - Canada

Masnik is one of the tougher players in the Junior ranks. He plays to his strength, which is his size. If he can develop a more offensive scoring touch to go with his size and powerful skating stride, he could one day be a power forward in HHHL.

Rating - 5.5

Bill Moylan - LW - 17 - 5’8” - 190 lbs - L - USA

Moylan is a winger who combine speed, skill, and power. One of the top players in the United States, Bill is expected to play for Team USA in the World Junior Hockey Championships. Moylan is an exceptional team player who is willing to take a hit to make a play.

Rating - 7.5

Greg McComber - C - 18 - 5’9” - 215 lbs - R - Canada

Small in height, McComber is as wide as he is tall. Shawinigan’s leading scorer among forwards, McComber is expected to go somewhere at the end of the first round or early in the second in the upcoming HHHL draft. A very powerful player who can put the puck in the net and play physically.

Rating - 8.5

Erik Larocque - RW - 16 - 6’0” - 200 lbs - R - Canada

Larocque has gotten off to a fine start in his junior career. He is one of few 16 year olds who can say they are a regular contributor to their team. Already 200 lbs, Erik is a fitness fanatic who most likely be around 225 in his draft year.

Rating - 6.5

Alexandre Day - RW - 19 - 6’3” - 197 lbs - R - Canada

Day has not played at all this season due to a torn ACL ligament in his knee. He may never play hockey again at a competitive level.

Rating - 1

Eric O’Conner - RW - 19 - 6’1” - 200 lbs - R - Canada

Eric plays on the team’s top line, as well as playing on the Power Play and Penalty Kill units. He is an all-around player who excels at the defensive aspect of the game. A sure bet to be drafted in the first 3 rounds of the upcoming HHHL draft.

Rating - 7.5

Lubomir Beranek - D - 19 - 5’9” - 213 lbs - L - Czech Republic

Beranek is considered small by HHHL standards. He needs to work on his defensive zone coverage if he wishes to continue his career past the junior level.

Rating - 2.5

Gervais Petrovicky - D - 20 - 5’9” - 209 lbs - R - Slovakia

An overage junior player at 20 years old, Gervais has developed into a good defenceman. Look for him to be picked up in the later rounds of the HHHL draft and play a few years in the minors to further develop his game.

Rating - 5.5

Michal Volak - D -18 - 5’9” - 191 lbs - L - Czech Republic

Another one of the seemingly endless amount of Czech-born players sharpening their skills in Major Junior. Volak is looked at as a player who is on the bubble as to whether he will be drafted this season. A smallish player at 5’9”, he is efficient and tries to play with minimal mistakes.

Rating - 4.5

Sylvain Kelley - D - 20 - 6’5” - 228 lbs - R - Canada

Kelley has really played his way to being possibly a top-5 pick in the HHHL draft. Taken in the 2nd round two years ago by Montreal, he was unable to come to terms on a contract with them and is re-entering the draft. He leads all Shawinigan scorers thus far this season, scoring over a point-a-game as a defenceman. Look for Kelley to be taken very high, possibly first overall, and challenge for a spot on the pro team right off the bat.

Rating - 9

Trevor Gravel - D - 17 - 6’3” - 240 lbs - L - Canada

Gravel may be overshadowed by Kelley, but he is considered a great prospect in his own right. At 6’3” and 240 lbs and only 17 years of age, he has the size to someday be a dominant defenceman in HHHL. He plays extremely well on the power play, his passes are crisp, and he is an outstanding skater.

Rating - 8

Leos Bohacek - D - 20 - 6’3” - 206 lbs - R - USA

Another overage defenceman who is re-entering the draft after not signing with the Toronto Maple Leafs, Bohacek has seen his stock rise this past year. Second to Kelley in defence scoring on Shawinigan, he is a capable defenceman at both ends of the ice.

Rating - 7

Steve Mohr - G - 20 - 6’2” - 209 lbs - L - USA

Mohr, an overage player, has been the starter in Shawinigan for 3 seasons. A solid tender with excellent lateral movement. He will most likely be taken somewhere in the fourth round of the draft.

Rating - 6.5

Dave Laraque - G - 19 - 5’8” - 199 lbs - L - Canada

Third on the team depth chart in net. Laraque has not played yet this season. A longshot who may consider looking for work somewhere other than in HHHL.

Rating -1

Wayne Filion - C - 16 - 5’8” - 204 lbs - R - Canada

A 16-year old who made the team out of camp and has played every game on the team’s 3rd line. An excellent skater who will be looking to develop into the team’s first line centre over the next season or two. Has all the skills to do so.

Rating - 6.5

Pierre St. Aubin - C - 16 - 6’3” - 200 lbs - L - Canada

A tall lanky kid who scored a ton in Midget hockey. Can turn on a dime and stickhandle while at top speed. Could be a very high pick in a few years. Needs to fill out his fram and become more consistent before he is an everyday player in Shawinigan. Is playing very well as of this report notching 17 points in 42 games.

Rating - 6.5

Darren Creighton - LW - 16 - 6’0” - 180 lbs - Canada

Another one of Shawinigan’s 16 year olds. Creighton is an average height and size for a player his age. Is having a wonderful season since being inserted into the line-up, he has accumulated 18 points in his first 25 games. A player to keep a close eye on over the next season or two.

Rating - 6.5

Rick Lamarche - LW - 19 - 5’11” - 200 lbs - L - USA

A hard-nosed player who plays the role of agitator. If he concentrated more on playing hockey than being a pest, he would be much more effective. A player in the Matthew Barnaby mold.

Rating - 5

Mikhail Shandurov - RW - 19 - 5’9” - 199 lbs - L - Russia

A good offensive player. Shandurov is one of the best stickhandlers in Junior today. Unfortunately, he doesn’t pass enough and has been accused by fans and teammates of being somewhat of a puck-hog. He’ll have to rectify that before he’s able to be effective at the HHHL level.

Rating - 7

Martin Cilladi - RW - 16 - 6’3” - 206 lbs - R - Germany

Cilladi has scored 10 goals in his first 40+ games of junior this season. Not too shabby considering he is barely 16 years old. Another one of Shawinigans stellar sixteen year olds, Cilladi’s favorite hobby is potting goals, and he’s very good at it. He uses his size and speed along with hands that are as soft as a baby’s bottom.

Ranking - 6.5

Jeff Spitzig - D - 16 - 6’2” - 218 lbs - L - Canada

Only 16, Spitzig is not as developed as some of the other 16 year-olds on Shawinigan. He’s got good size and will help clear the crease in Shawinigan over the next few years. Right now he has to work on his skating, as he has trouble keeping up with some of the faster skaters in Junior.

Rating - 4

Tony Pilotte - D - 20 - 6’4” - 220 Lbs - R - Canada

Son of Chicago Blackhawks legend Pierre Pilotte, Tony has the same blistering speed as his father. Will be re-entering the draft after not being able to come to terms on a contract with Detroit. His speed and size are enough to get him a shot in the pros. Has to work on his shot. Excellent passer.

Rating - 6.5

Tony Pomerleau - D - 17 - 5’11” - 187 lbs - R - USA

Pomerleau is a player who has not seen a lot of ice since he came to Shawinigan via a trade with Kootenay. He’s left the team due to that lack of ice time while he awaits a trade.

Rating - 4

Gordi Beausejour - G - 19 - 5’9” - 205 lbs - L - Canada A reflex goalie, Gordi relies heavily on his lightning quick mobility to make the stops. A small goalie, which is becoming rarer these days, Gordi has actually outplayed Mohr statistically this season in limited action.

Rating - 6.5

KOOTENAY

Ari Tiainen - C - 16 - 5’11” - 215 lbs - R - Finland

Just came over from Finland to hone his skills in Major Junior. Has not appeared in a game as of yet but puts forth excellent efforts in practice. Coaches and scouts agree that he will have a good junior career, possibly turn pro in a few years.

Rating - 4.5

Yuri Badyukov - C - 19 - 5’9” -178 lbs - L - Russia

Having an excellent campaign averaging more than a point-a-game. Has exceptional speed and a devastating shot. Will most likely be a first round selection in the HHHL draft.

Rating - 8

Marc Naud - C - 19 - 5’10” - 206 lbs - R - Canada

Naud has been plagued with injuries ever since his junior career started. It has hindered his development and caused him to lose his spot in the line-up. He has never fulfilled his potential and is looked at somewhat of a “bust”.

Rating - 1

Jan Andersson - C - 18 - 6’3” - 208 lbs - R - Sweden

Andersson is a defensive forward who is an excellent penalty killer. He has a good size, but really needs to develop his offensive game. Could be a checking line centre in HHHL.

Rating - 5

Aleksandr Krivonozhkin - C - 18 - 5’11” - L - Austria

Krivonozhkin is a real goal scorer. Is on pace for 40+ goals and will be a scorer at the HHHL level. If he was on a better team he could probably score 50 or 60. Has s great hands, decent speed, but is an excellent skater. Could be a first round selection.

Rating - 8

Vincent Kozel - C - 16 - 5’8” - 202 lbs - L - Slovakia

A rookie in his first year of North American competition, Kozel has played well, earning a regular shift. Smallish, Kozel plays bigger than his size. He will improve over the next couple of seasons and could become a decent pro.

Rating - 3

Tony Mazur - LW - 20 - 6’4” - 218 lbs - R - Canada

The unquestionable leader of the Kootenay team. Mazur leads the team in scoring and is a threat in the offensive zone every time he touches the puck. At 20 years of age, he could conceivably step into the HHHL right away. Will score at the next level.

Rating - 8

Vasily Galimzhanov - LW - 16 - 5’8” - 210 lbs - L - Russia

Too early to tell on this kid. Has the raw skills to be an HHHL player, but needs a lot of time to develop. Has not shown much scoring potential.

Rating - 2

Eric Lachance - LW - 19 - 5’7” - 186 - 186 lbs - L - USA

Brother of HHHL defenceman Scott Lachance, Eric plays a style similar to Doug Gilmour. Has the heart of a lion and wants to win whatever the cost. Small in size, statistics don’t measure what he does for his team.

Rating - 7.5

Milan Baca - LW - 18 - 6’3” - 223 lbs - R - Canada

A point-per-game is nothing new for this guy, who’s been doing in it the junior league since he was 15. Exceptional puckhandling and passing make him a great prospect and a possible first round selection.

Rating - 8

Vadims Aleksejenko - LW - 16 - 6’3” - 234 lbs - L - Netherlands

Good skating for his size, Vadims is progressing nicely in Junior and he hopes to be the first player from the Netherlands to play in HHHL.

Rating - 3

Johan Ahlstrm - LW - 19 - 6’5” - 221 lbs - R - Sweden

A purely offensive player, Johan doesn’t even know his goalie’s name. At 6’5” he possesses the size to be a power forward in HHHL. If his defensive effort ever matches his offensive talents, this guy could be a star.

Rating - 7

Frantisek Antos - RW - 19 - 6’0” - 200 lbs - R - Czech Republic

Solid at both ends of the ice. Not a typical European, he’s a grinder. Will chip in on offence. Likened to VaclavVarada.

Rating - 6

Brian Bourque - RW - 20 - 5’10” - 184 lbs - R - Canada

Playing well since recovering from a concussion. He really plays a physical game, and at his size, suffers quite a few injuries. A dark horse pick, possibly a fifth rounder.

Rating - 5

Remi Comtois - RW - 19 - 5’10” - 197 lbs - R - France

Speed to burn. Has a solid frame even though he is not that tall. Plays a perimeter game mostly, but not afraid to get his nose dirty. Great work ethic.

Rating - 3.5

Dmitri Askarov - RW - 16 - 6’0” - 200 lbs - L - Russia

Needs further development time. Has a hard time understanding the coaches due to language problems. Great stickhandler will most likely earn a spot full time on the team next season.

Rating - 2.5

Cory Ladobruk - RW - 20 - 6’0” - 210 lbs - R - Canada

Has decent skills, slow as a snail. His lack of speed will most likely prevent him from being drafted yet again this season.

Rating - 3

Dave Choteborsky - RW - 18 - 6’1” - 184 lbs - R - USA

Checking forward in junior. Not skilled enough to make it in the HHHL.

Rating - 1

Frederic Dimuzio - D - 18 - 5’9” - 197 lbs - R - Italy

Tough defenceman who scores a good amount of points. Compared to Aaron Miller of HHHL. Not the quickest skater, but awareness is good.

Rating - 6

Willy Heller - D - 17 - 5’7” - 187 lbs - R - Germany

Heller has a future in pro hockey, it’s just not in HHHL. It’s most likely in his native Germany.

Rating - 2

Jonathon Balshin - D - 19 - 6’2” - 224 lbs - L - USA

For Balshin this season was to be his breakout year. He got injured during training camp and his return to action is still up in the air. Post-concussion syndrome has had him sidelined for over 6 months. Too bad, before his injury he had 1st round skills.

Rating - 5.5

Wendell Carbonneau - D - 20 - 6’4” - 219 lbs - R - Canada

Not related to the Montreal Canadian great Guy Carbonneau. Too bad, as his defensive game needs a ton of work. Primarily an offensive player, Wendell has to work on his man-on-man situations more if he expects to continue his career.

Rating - 3.5

Petr Stepan - D - 18 - 6’5” - 232 lbs - R - Croatia

Stepan is a stay-at-home defenceman. His size (6’5”) will help him in the pros. Not the swiftest of skaters, Stepan does possess good passing skills and is rarely out of position.

Rating - 8

Bob Tikkanen - D - 18 - 5’10” - 202 lbs - L - Finland

Famous agitator Esa Tikkanen’s son, Bob plays the same type of in-your-face game. He is constantly drawing penalties from the opposition and is outstanding defensively. Don’t expect more than a handful of points from him, offence is not his game.

Rating - 7

Janne Lajunen - D - 16 - 6’4” - 228 lbs - R - Sweden

Another rock-solid defender from Sweden. Young Janne has already caught the eyes of many pro scouts. They have him pegged in as a 1st or 2nd rounder in his draft year. Look for him to pile up the points next season in Kootenay.

Rating - 4.5

Chris Sarner - D - 17 - 5’6” - 180 lbs - L - Canada

Sarner averages almost a point-a-game from the defence position. Outstanding numbers for someone who, perhaps, is the smallest player in Major Junior. Sarner’s size could be a massive obstacle which he may or may not overcome in his quest to make it to the HHHL.

Rating - 6.5

Dale Nemeth - D - 19 - 6’4” - 202 lbs - R - Canada

Nemeth as well is averaging almost a point-a-same and leads all Kootenay defenders in scoring thus far into the season. He is ultra-mobile, and rarely gets caught out of position. Nemeth will play in the HHHL for a very long time at a very high level.

Rating - 8

Daniel Hlinka - G - 18 - 6’5” - 226 lbs - L - Czech Republic

Hlinka is a massive specimen and looks quite intimidating in between the pipes. However, scouts say that he has trouble getting up quickly and is often left scrambling a la Dominik Hasek all over the ice. He hasn’t played much this season due to injury.

Rating - 4.5

Michal Straka - G - 20 -5’10” - 196 lbs - L - Czech Republic

With Kootenay’s strong Defence corps you’d think that Straka would have better numbers. Not the case, he has struggled all year trying to gain back the consistency that made him a Junior All-Star the last two seasons.

Rating - 5.5

Yvon Clarke - G - 18 - 5’10” - 216 lbs - L - Canada

Good movement in the net. This stand-up goalie is plagued by a poor work ethic. He is overweight and many think that Clarke’s interest lie somewhere other than hockey most of the time. If he could put it together, he could be HHHL material.

Rating - 4.5

SHERBROOKE

Peter Dehmer - C - 19 - 6’5” - 207 lbs - R - Canada

Dehmer has HHHL written all over him as do many players from Sherbrook. 6’5”, over a point-a-game, will drop the glove. Not too much is missing from his game. Many compare him to a young Owen Nolan. Could be a top-ten pick.

Rating - 8.5

Tent Soucy - C - 19 - 6’5” - 201 lbs - L - USA

Has only played a portion of the season thus far. Will dig in the corners and crash the net. Won’t score many goals. Soucy is a faster skater than he looks, his choppy stride make many think he can’t make the HHHL, but he always seems to be making plays.

Rating - 6.5

Gilles Blais - C - 17 - 6’5” - 205 lbs - R - Canada

Another centre from Sherbrooke Listed at 6’5”, Gilles has seen limited ice time on this veteran-laden team. One of the strongest players in junior, he rarely loses a face-off or a fight. Look for him in next seasons HHHL entry draft.

Rating - 5

Dmitri Tribuntsovs - C - 20 - 6’1” - 196 lbs - L - Russia

This smooth skating puck-handler remind many of Igor Larionov. He has a classy demeanor on the ice and nothing seems to faze him. If he can improve his shot and gain a few pounds, he could be a player in the HHHL.

Rating - 6

Daniel Pettinger - C - 20 - 5’6” - 173 lbs - R - Canada

Brother of Matt Pettinger, Daniel has been passed over two years straight in the HHHL entry draft. His size it seems has turned a lot of teams off him considerable talents. Good skater and a tenacious attitude are his trademarks.

Rating - 5

Murat Kuznetsov - C - 19 - 5’8” -212 lbs - L - Russia

Kuznetsov is scoring over a point a game and he’s been doing it in a highlight-reel fashion. Outstanding vision on the ice make Murat a sought-after commodity by HHHL GM’s. His height may not be large, but he is built like a tank, and he plays through injury on a regular basis.

Rating - 8

Mikhail Litivinenko - LW - 19 - 5’8” - 212 lbs - R - Slovakia

Litivinenko will most likely not be picked in the upcoming HHHL draft. He is a fringe junior player at best.

Rating - 1

Chris Jarrett - LW - 20 - 5’7” - 187 lbs - L - USA

Scoring at well over a point per game, Jarrett has become one of the go-to players on a high scoring Sherbrooke team. With dazzling moves and breakneck speed, Jarrett will most likely see himself drafted in the first two rounds of the HHHL entry draft. Compared by many to Theoren Fleury.

Rating - 8

Hugo Sarault - LW - 16 - 5’8” - 210 lbs - L - Canada

As is the case with many of the younger players on Sherbrooke, Sarault has had difficulty cracking this veteran squad. He had a good hockey sense and a booming shot. It will take another year or two for him to be able to show off his skills.

Rating - 5

Vic Lanthier - LW - 20 - 6’2” - 218 lbs - R - Canada

A right-handed shot playing on the left wing, Lanthier has shown some scoring touch, but his bread and butter remains playing outstanding defensively.

Rating - 5.5

Tomas Petrovka - LW - 16 - 5’7” - 204 lbs - L - Czech Republic

One of the most exciting players in Major Junior, Petrovka may be the most talented as well. He’s accumulated 52 points in his first 42 games as a 16-year old. An amazing accomplishment considering he’s playing with mostly 19 and 20 year old players. Scouts will keep a VERY close eye on Tomas as a possible future #1 overall selection to the HHHL.

Rating - 8

Shawn Walmsley - LW - 20 - 6’4” - 194 lbs - L - Canada

The only reason this kid is even playing Junior Hockey is because of hi father, Rick Walmsley, owns a portion of the franchise.

Rating - 1

Francois Larter - RW - 18 - 6’5” -225 lbs - R - Canada

An all-around player, Francois doesn’t manage to do anything that makes the scouts heads turn, but his name ends up on the scoresheet one way or another. Will most likely be drafted, but must improve skating and conditioning to make it to the show.

Rating - 6.5

Chuck Walker - RW - 20 - 6’0” - 181 lbs - R - USA

A point-a-game player for his entire Junior career. Walker will be re-entering the draft after Buffalo did not sign him after selecting him in the second round two seasons ago. His stock has dropped slightly since he hasn’t shown a marked improvement, but he is a steady scorer.

Rating - 7

Paul Fletcher - RW - 20 - 5’8” - 176 lbs - R - USA

Even though Fletcher’s name is still listed on Sherbrooke’s roster, he has left the team to pursue a career as a baseball player. He was selected by the Toronto Blue Jays in the first round of the MLB draft.

Rating - 5

Peter Lindeberg - RW - 20 - 6’3” - 209 lbs - R - Austria

Lindeberg has shown no signs that he actually understands hockey systems or plays.

Rating - 1

Christian Lochhead - RW - 16 - 5’11” - 189 lbs - R - England

A rookie, Lochhead has shown himself and the scouts what they wanted to see when this slick skating Englishman came over to Canada to play Junior Hockey. He is progressing nicely and his name is sure to be called when his draft day comes. A young Craig Janney type player.

Rating - 6

Frank Chartrand - RW - 17 - 6’3” - 204 lbs - R - Canada

Sherbrooke’s leading scorer, Chartrand has amassed a staggering 65 points in his first 42 games played. At only 17 years of age, he has been a dominating force in the Junior League using his excellent speed, great passing skills, and OUTSTANDING scoring ability (32 goals) to keep Sherbrooke in the hunt for the junior crown.

Rating -9.5

Espen Abrahamsson - D - 17 - 6’5” - 205 lbs - L - Sweden

Not one to shy away from the physical aspect of the game, Espen uses his size to make sure the front of the net is always clear of traffic. A true stay-at-home defender. Espen needs to work on his offensive game to be able to compete in HHHL.

Rating - 4.5

Claude Bellemare - D - 19 - 5’8” - 199 lbs - L - Canada

Claude is a player in the Bryan McCabe mold. He has a booming slapshot and is average in his own end. If he could bulk up he could become a HHHL defender one day.

Rating - 3.5

Raymond Tucker - D - 18 - 6’3” - 218 lbs - R - USA

A stunning offensive defenceman, Tucker reminds many of Sergei Gonchar of HHHL fame. Extremely fast skating and pin-point passing are attributes that they both share. Will most likely be a first round selection.

Rating - 8

Todd Eminger - D - 19 - 6’3” - 202 lbs - L - Canada

Twin brother of rookie HHHL defenceman Steve Eminger, Todd plays a very simlar style. If he were not injured last year, he would for sure been drafted in the top three rounds with his brother.

Rating - 6.5

Radek Bednar - D - 17 - 6’1” - 208 lbs - R - Czech Republic

Playing well this season as a rookie in his first campaign on North American ice, Bednar needs more time to adapt to become a better player.

Rating - 3.5

Steven Ouellet - D - 16 - 5’8” - 205 lbs - L - Canada

Steven was the captain of Canada’s under-17 national team. A smooth skating defender with a cool head, Ouellt never panics, mostly because he is rarely caught out of position. Will be a factor in the HHHL down the road.

Rating - 7

Bruce Popp - D - 17 - 5’7” - 185 lbs - R - USA

Popp is a player in the same mold as one of the greats…Brad Marsh. He has as little skill as any in the Junior ranks, but his effort level is off the chart. If he continues to improve at the rate he has in the past, he may possibly play pro, most likely taking a few years in the minors to develop. Nobody wants it more than Popp.

Rating - 3.5

Darren Larose - 17 - 5’6” - 193 lbs - L - USA

Too small, too slow. Doesn’t have the same desire of someone like Popp tp make it to the next level.

Rating - 1

Gilbert Bourque - D - 17 - 6’0” - 204 lbs - L - Canada

Son of Hall-of-Fame defenceman and legend Raymond Bourque, Gilbert is following in his father’s footsteps. A rookie, he is second among Sherbrooke defenceman in scoring. He has all the tools to be a first round selection.

Rating - 7.5

Chris Anderson - G - 20 - 6’3” - 204 lbs - L - Canada

Having a terrible season on this offence-first Sherbrooke team, Anderson faces more rubber than any other goalie in Major Junior. His stats don’t do him justice, for if he were on a better team, his GAA could be a full goal a game lower. Excellent glove hand.

Rating - 6

Per Sderholm - G - 19 - 6’5” - 227 lbs - R - Sweden

A HUGE goaltender, Sderholm will most likely see his career begin in the minors and end there as well.

Rating - 3

David Winch - G - 16 - 5’7” - 200 lbs - L - Canada

At 16, Winch is already seen quite a bit of Junior action. He has performed well, using his cat-like quickness and stand-up style. Probably the quickest feet in Major Junior hockey. Will be one of the first goaltenders selected in his draft year.

Rating - 7

SARNIA

Robin Parent - LW - 16 - 5’9” - 187 lbs - L - Canada

Has shown signs of improvement this year, his first in Junior. Will most likely be a late round selection in a few years. An average all around winger with great speed.

Rating - 5

Hugues Stover - C - 16 - 6’4” - 222 lbs - R - Finland

Already massive at 6’4” and 222 lbs, Stover is still growing. Will play for Finland at the WJC, which will help him gain some much needed experience. This monster is being projected as a first or second line centre by many scouts already.

Rating -7

Erik Fraser - C - 20 - 5’7” - 188 lbs - L - Sweden

Has not suited up in nearly two seasons. Will most likely not be drafted.

Rating - 1

Jean-Francois Dufresne - C - 20 - 5’9” - 207 lbs

Dufresne is a scoring machine. He has been playing with Sarnia for the past three seasons and has improved every year. Smallish at 5’9”, he makes up for it with dazzling passing skills and a very quick release on his accurate wrist shot.

Rating - 6.5

Steve Krall - LW - 19 - 5’8” - 199 lbs - L - USA

Krall is an Adam Oates type player, with 37 of his 40 points thus far being assists. Will pass with the best of them. A deceptive skater with outstanding hockey sense, Krall is hoping to pass his way into the HHHL.

Rating - 7.5

Kjell Hvelid - LW - 19 - 6’0” - 206 lbs - R - Gemany

Out all year with an injury, Hvelid is a mucker. He’ll dig in the corners, battle down low, anything to win. He has a limited skill set however.

Rating - 4

Raymond Lebouthillier - LW - 19 - 5’6” - 180 lbs - Canada

Too small and too slow to make it even to the minors.

Rating - 1

Francois Wallinheimo - C - 16 - 6’3” - 200 lbs - R - Canada

Many feel that Francois may be the best player in the world at the age of 16. He has HHHL level skills already, and some scouts say he could play pro now in a limited role. All the tools are there for Wallinheimo to be a HHHL franchise player down the road.

Rating - 9

Jim Noonan - LW - 18 - 6’0” - 210 lbs - L - USA

Son of former NHL player Brian Noonan, Jim Noonan has had an off-year by his standards, not getting the ice time he used to enjoy. A great checker, Noonan could possibly parlay his defensive abilities into a HHHL career.

Rating - 6.5

Eric Williams - C - 6’3” - 202 lbs - R - Canada

A tough player. Williams loves to drop the gloves. He plays a regular shift and is reliable in the defensive zone and chips in the odd goal on offence as well. Any team that is looking for toughness can find it here.

Rating 6.5

Frank Spenard - C - 16 - 5’9” - 189 lbs - L - USA

Spenard is a darting skater who has a good hockey sense and is a gifted passer. If he progresses as he has this season for the next one or two years, he will be an impact player down the road.

Rating - 4.5

Kirk Luongo - LW - 18 - 6’4” - 213 lbs - R - Canada

Brother of HHHL star Roberto Loungo, Kirk may have an impact in HHHL as well. He has shown scouts that he can put the puck in the net. He has an unrivalled desire to make it in the big leagues, and with hi size, it will make it that much easier to get his foot in the door. He is compared by many to Brendan Shanahan.

Rating - 8.5

Dan Richer - RW - 20 - 5’9” - 211 lbs - R - Canada

Nephew of former HHHL player Stephan Richer, Dan is a slightly more compact version of his uncle. Though smaller, he possesses great speed and a solid scoring touch.

Rating - 6.5

Alex Walker - RW - 16 - 5’8” - 192 lbs - R - USA

Smallish, but still young with time to grow and get stronger, Walker has demonstrated that he could be an HHHL forward down the road with some highlight reel plays. The skill is there, it just has to be further developed.

Rating - 4.5

Petr Vlach - RW - 17 - 6’2” - 211 LBS - R - Czech Republic

Vlach reminds many of a younger version of Josef Stumpel. He has the pass-first mentality. Along with his great passing skills, and unlike Stumpel, Vlach is considered a good to very good defensive player.

Rating - 6

Dwayne Williston - RW - 19 - 6’0” - 190 lbs - R - Canada

Williston has a great skating stride and can turn on a dime, however he doesn’t possess the scoring touch necessary to be a scorer in HHHL. His defensive game also is not up to par just yet, he may need some time in the minors to further hone his skills.

Rating - 4.5

Serge MacKenzie - RW - 16 - 6’4” - 196 lbs - R - Canada

An old-fashioned player who combines good skills with absolute toughness. MacKenzie would block a puck with his teeth to win a game.

Rating - 6.5

Doug Kenny - RW - 18 - 6’3” - 232 lbs - R - USA

An old-fashioned player who combines good skills with absolute toughness. Kenny is like MacKenzie who would block a puck with his teeth to win a game.

Rating - 6.5

Dmitri Zelenko - D - 20 - 5’8” - 195 lbs - R - Russia

The worst +/- in the Junior league. Of course Sarnia has allowed 100 more goals than they have scored. Zelenko is part of the reason.

Rating - 2

Brent Bright - D - 17 - 6’5” - 236 lbs - L - Canada

Only recently earned a spot on the blueline. Bright is inther to clear the crease, and he does it very effectively. He may have a “Bright” future ahead of him in HHHL as a stay-at-home defenceman.

Rating - 6.5

Gordie Piche - D - 20 - 6’1” - 188 lbs - R - USA

The only thing that makes Piche even resemble a good hockey player is that his first name is “Gordie”.

Rating - 1

Curtis Swanson - D - 20 - 6’3” - 213 lbs - L - Canada

Tough defenceman who scores a good amount of points. Compared to Aaron Miller of HHHL. Not the quickest skater, but awareness is good.

Rating - 6

Don Mansoff - D - 20 - 6’4” - 194 lbs - R - Canada

An overage player, Mansoff has benefited from the extra time in Junior. It has seen him develop into a solid defender. If he was on a better team, he could be a first-overall selection. He leads his entire team in scoring accumulating 60 points in his first 42 games. Will most likely be a point-producing defenceman in the HHHL. It’s possible that he could step in right away and make a pro team.

Rating - 9

Sergei Khramtsov - D - 18 - 6’1 - 190 lbs - R - Russia

Khramtsov is plagued by inconsistent play. When his game is on, he is a dominating player at both end of the ice. If Sergei can rectify his inconsistencies, his skills will take him far. His passing and shooting is already HHHL all-star caliber.

Rating - 7.5

Kelvin Dumais - D - 20 - 5’6” - 171 lbs - L - Canada

Way too small to handle the forwards of the HHHL. Does not have the strength to clear the crease, the number one priority of a HHHL defenceman.

Rating - 1

Danile McCarthy - D - 20 - 5’7” - 175 lbs - R - USA

Similar to Dumais, just does not have the strength to cope with the forwards in HHHL. He’d be giving away up to 75 lbs to some of them. HHHL is a long, long, longshot for this player.

Ivan Germain - D - 19 - 6’0” - 206 lbs - L - Netherlands

A swift skater, Germain has a keen eye for the game. Will most likely find himself on a HHHL blueline sometime in the future. Compared to Niklas Lidstrom because he plays an extremely smart game.

Rating - 7

Jean-Luc Plasse - G - 20 - 6’0” - 208 lbs - L - Canada

A goalie who has been plagued by injuries over his junior career. Lost the starting job in Sarnia after being injured on almost a regular basis. A good goaltender when on the ice.

Rating - 4

Robert Vogeltanz - G - 17 - 6’1” - 186 lbs - R - Slovakia

The starter in Sarnia. Robert has had problems because he is playing in front of by far the worst team in the Junior League. His GAA was over 5.00 at the halfway point of the season. On a better team, he could be a Junior all-star.

Rating - 6.5

Tero Kurvinen - G - 20 - 6’0” - 222 lbs - L - Finland

Most likely will continue his career in the Finnish pro league.

>Player Name: Nikolai Asikainen >Date of Birth: November 29, 1986 >Handed: Left >Height: 6’2 >Weight: 224 lbs. >Country of Birth: Croatia

>Talent Report: This kid is a monster. He is only 16 and he is 6’2 and 224 pounds. He is a very athletic person as well. He is a very good skater and has one of the hardest shots out there. He is a beast of a hitter. He loves to play the physical game but doesn’t have to just be a hitter. He loves to fight as well. His love of hitting and fighting gets him into penalty trouble that has lead to his lack of playing time. In about 2 years he should be one of the better players out there. He needs to get a little smarter on the ice.

>Rating 1-10: 6

>Player Name: Bob Dickie >Date of Birth: July 6, 1983 >Handed: Left >Height: 6’1 >Weight: 217 lbs. >Country of Birth: America

>Talent Report: He is an amazingly bad defensive player. He doesn’t know how to use his size to knock people off the puck. He can play offensively but doesn’t know a thing about defending his own net. He is a marginal talent with some potential but his total lack of defensive ability will lead him never playing.

>Rating 1-10: 4

>Player Name: John Widing >Date of Birth: December 23, 1985 >Handed: Left >Height: 5’7 >Weight: 171 lbs. >Country of Birth: America

>Talent Report: An exceptional offensive talent. He can put the puck in the back of the net as well as most any one. He is an excellent passer as well. Like most of the players on his JL team he cant play defense if his life depended on it. That is his one flaw. He is a very physical player as well. Still very young and will only get better with age.

>Rating 1-10: 8

>Player Name: Rick Collard >Date of Birth: August 1, 1983 >Handed: Right >Height: 5’7 >Weight: 184 lbs. >Country of Birth: America

>Talent Report: Has a real small frame and is not very fast. This leads to him not playing at all. He is a good puck handler and has a strong hockey sense but he is just way to slow. He plays the game like he is a good 250 lbs. He plays physical but is just not big enough to make a real influence in the league

>Rating 1-10: 3

>Player Name: Don King >Date of Birth: June 17, 1985 >Handed: Right >Height: 5’8 >Weight: 202 lbs. >Country of Birth: America

>Talent Report: Like the promoter that shares the same name, Don is a real good instigator. He knows how to get under the skin of other players. What gets the other teams players very irritated at him is the fat that he is one of the hardest working players out there. He fly’s full speed into the corners and slams right into the player going for the puck, this is why most of his penalties are for boarding. He should be a real nice 4th line Left wing one day.

>Rating 1-10: 6

>Player Name: Jeff Craievich >Date of Birth: January 10, 1983 >Handed: Left >Height: 5’7 >Weight: 201 lbs. >Country of Birth: Canada

>Talent Report: Offensively he has the potential to be a decent player. He knows how to play the puck well. Has an eye for passing. There are three things that are going to keep Jeff from playing in this league. One, he is not a solid skater. He is fast but has some trouble stopping. He ends up losing the puck of slams right into the goalkeeper. Second, just like every other player on this team he has no ability to play defense. The third reason id that he has no hockey sense at all. He plays the game as if he knows nothing and is going by pure instinct. This leads to a lot of odd man rushes against his line.

>Rating 1-10: 3.5

>Player Name: Ed Hall >Date of Birth: February 10, 1984 >Handed: Left >Height: 5’10 >Weight: 185 lbs. >Country of Birth: America

>Talent Report: He is a strange tandem of talents. Hall is one of the better skill players out there. He just has a gift for big plays. He is fast and small. He is also one of the hardest hitters on the ice. He not only is a pure skill player but knows how to play as physical as any player out there. Hall is one of the few players on this team that knows how to play defense. This makes him look about 5 times better than the players he plays with. He needs some more time to learn the speed of the pro game but should be ready to make a serious impact in about 2 years.

>Player Name: John Boulton >Date of Birth: May 16, 1983 >Handed: Right >Height: 5’9 >Weight: 178 lbs. >Country of Birth: America

>Talent Report: Boulton is and exceptional passer. It looks as if Boulton has ESP (Extra Sensory Perception) when you watch him make passes. He knows where a player is going to be before the player even gets there. He has soft hands. He has an average shot that makes the goalie go nuts since it seems to roll of the stick making it flutter in the air. He gets into a little too much penalty trouble. He is not the surest hitter out there.

>Player Name: Marc Nowak >Date of Birth: May 7, 1986 >Handed: Right >Height: 6’3 >Weight: 191 lbs. >Country of Birth: Slovakia

>Talent Report: He is a real tall player and has excellent vision. He needs to use his size much better. He also needs to take less stupid penalties. When he is on the ice big thins happen. Be it for or against his team. Plays a passive aggressive game.

>Rating 1-10: 4

>Player Name: Tamas Sderholm >Date of Birth: March 9, 1985 >Handed: Left >Height: 6’3 >Weight: 200 lbs. >Country of Birth: Sweden

>Talent Report: He is a slightly above average offensive talent. He knows when to shot and w hen to pass, which is a good talent to have. The one thing is he is not a very good defensive player. He doesn’t play the puck well in the defensive zone. He is a physical force on the ice.

>Rating 1-10: 4.5

>Player Name: Francois Ertel >Date of Birth: August 19, 1983 >Handed: Right >Height: 6’3 >Weight: 226 lbs. >Country of Birth: France

>Talent Report: An excellent playmaker. Amazing eyes. An accurate shot with speed. He is a very physical force on the ice. He is very into the community. One of the few players on this team that could be considered a two-way player. He is a master at instigating a player to where the opposing player will make stupid penalties.

>Player Name: Peter Fisher >Date of Birth: June 24, 1984 >Handed: Right >Height: 5’11 >Weight: 213 lbs. >Country of Birth: America

>Talent Report: A rather mediocre player on the ice. He is neither an offensive threat nor a player to worry about on defense. His skating ability is marginal. I known to be a very laid back player on and off the ice. Not one to rock the boat in any way. Will not be a regular on any team.

>Rating 1-10: 2.5

>Player Name: John Chenard >Date of Birth: January 10, 1985 >Handed: Left >Height: 5’7 >Weight: 180 lbs. >Country of Birth: America

>Talent Report: He is an average talent on offense. If could improve his overall defensive ability he would be a 3rd or 4th round pick. Right now though he is not worth it. If he improves (And this is a big if) he would be worth a look but I seriously doubt it will happen.

>Rating 1-10: 4

>Player Name: Raine Varis >Date of Birth: November 28, 1985 >Handed: Right >Height: 5’7 >Weight: 180 lbs. >Country of Birth: Romania

>Talent Report: Somewhat of a waif on the ice. He has a decent ability to make plays but he unlike a lot of littler players he doesn’t like to use his body to make an impression. He shies away from physical play at all opportunities. Isn’t much of a prospect in the defensive sense.

>Rating 1-10: 2

>Player Name: Glenn Morin >Date of Birth: December 10, 1985 >Handed: Right >Height: 5’8 >Weight: 187 lbs. >Country of Birth: America

>Talent Report: He has received some playing time due to injuries but has produced much in the time he has player. In 9 games he has come up with 4 goals and 2 assists. He shows the will to play but just doesn’t have the talent to be an everyday player just yet. I would say that in about 2 years time he should be a top prospect. Right now he is not defensively talented enough yet.

>Rating 1-10: 5

>Player Name: Kim Kratoska >Date of Birth: March 6, 1986 >Handed: Left >Height: 6’4 >Weight: 207 lbs. >Country of Birth: Russia

>Talent Report: He has the potential to be one of the best defensman out there. He has the size to compete in the HHHL right now. He also has the eye for hockey. At just 16 he knows the game as well as most 25-year-old veterans. At the middle point this season he has 15 goals and 8 assists. He has also shown that he is an excellent bruising defensman with his 109 hits. He plays point on the power play and has an astounding shot total of 134, at a pace to shot the puck 268 times scoring around 30.

>Player Name: Dale MacIsaac >Date of Birth: September 13, 1983 >Handed: Right >Height: 6’5 >Weight: 214 lbs. >Country of Birth: England

>Talent Report: He is a terrible offensive player. With his limited defensive ability this has left him on the bench for the entire season up to this point. I do not see this changing and he should be an on the bench for the rest of the season. He is the right size to be a hokey player but I suggest that you look for him to be a basketball player before a Hockey player.

>Player Name: Arnott Dore >Date of Birth: October 9, 1985 >Handed: Left >Height: 6’5 >Weight: 207 lbs. >Country of Birth: Canada

>Talent Report: He is a real good offensive defensive D-Man. He has been injured for half the season. If he weren’t injured he would have a real good 42 points. He like most of the players on this team is terribly bad at defense. Should he improve his defensive play and not get injured he should become a real good player worthy of a 2nd or 3rd round pick.

He is a definite player to watch for. He is ready for the HHHL right now. He is a 1st round pick right now.

>Player Name: Pascal Guillemette >Date of Birth: June 19, 1984 >Handed: Right >Height: 5’7 >Weight: 186 lbs. >Country of Birth: Italy

>Talent Report: Pascal is an average D-Man talent. He has some offensive ability but nothing to impresive. He is a compident defensive player but not really that good at any aspect of his game. He is a solid skater with speed that helps make up for his defensive let downs and turnovers. He is not a physical defensman. He is worth a late pick to see if he has the ability to learn the pro game. If he doews learn the pro game he should become a player to watch.

He ould be a 25 or 30 goal scorer if he learned some accuray. He isnt very tall (5’7) and this makes him very agresive for soe reason. He gets into scrapes with othere players constantly.

He has the raw ability to be a starter in the JL now but he hasn’t had the ice time to learn much so he sits on the bench. Next season after the leaving of some older prospects he should become an important cog in the lineup. This is when will shall get a better look at his skills.

He is excellent at taking face-offs. He gets a lot of his goals in the 3rd period when it is most important. He needs to work more on his passing skills. Is lacking on defense a bit. >Talent Report: One of the top enter prospects out there. He is a real small guy, which could hurt him in the long run. He has the ability to be a top scorer for any team in the league. At the half waypoint this season he has 14 goals and 35 assists for a team leading 49 points and has 105 hits to boot. He is a star in the making.

>Rating 1-10: 7.5

>Player Name: Chad Beattie >Date of Birth: March 1, 1982 >Handed: Right >Height: 6 >Weight: 214 lbs. >Country of Birth: America

>Talent Report: A nicely rounded player. He is not as flashy as some players but knows how to play the game of hokey. He is 6th on his JL team with a respectable 28 points. He is not a top line center. He is a bruiser. He is also currently 4th on his JL team with 140 hits. Leads his team with 17 goals. He is not a sure passer.

>Rating 1-10: 5.5

>Player Name: Pierre Searles >Date of Birth: December 7, 1984 >Handed: Left >Height: 5’7 >Weight: 206 lbs. >Country of Birth: America

>Talent Report: One thing you notice right off the bat is that he is not a offensive player. He is never to be put on the power play lines. It will lead to nothing good. He is not a good puck handler or a sure shooter. Passing also isn’t good. He will be a career minor leaguer.

>Rating 1-10: 4

>Player Name: Nikolai Morozov >Date of Birth: June 18, 1983 >Handed: Right >Height: 5’7 >Weight: 174 lbs. >Country of Birth: Yugoslavia

>Talent Report: If he ever made the all star skills competition he would be the star of the show. His skills are excellent but they do not translate into scoring. He is never going to be the star he could due to his total lack of concentration and on ice intelligence.

>Rating 1-10: 5

>Player Name: Dan Melnyk >Date of Birth: August 2, 1984 >Handed: Left >Height: 5’8 >Weight: 188 lbs. >Country of Birth: Canada

>Talent Report: Gets no playing time. The reason for this is he is not very good. He doesn’t skate well. He doesn’t shoot well. The only thing he does do well is explain to people why he should be playing. His attitude is terrible. This player is a coach retirer. He drives them nuts with his off and on ice antics.

>Rating 1-10: 1.5

>Player Name: Ales Jurecka >Date of Birth: April 7, 1982 >Handed: Left >Height: 6’2 >Weight: 206 lbs. >Country of Birth: Croatia

>Talent Report: He knows the game of hockey real well. He just doesn’t play it that well. He will make a great coach one day but a player no, not a chance of that happening.

>Rating 1-10: 2

>Player Name: Mark Dyck >Date of Birth: February 28, 1982 >Handed: Left >Height: 6’3 >Weight: 211 lbs. >Country of Birth: Canada

>Talent Report: A real nice big kid. For some insane reason he doesn’t hit anyone. In 41 games he only has 13 hits. Yes 13 hits. It is like he is afraid to hit. If he learns to hit people and play a stronger defensive game he could be a really good player.

>Rating 1-10: 4.5

>Player Name: Alexandre Boudreau >Date of Birth: January 9, 1982 >Handed: Right >Height: 5’7 >Weight: 197 lbs. >Country of Birth: France

>Talent Report: Not a sniper by any means but Boudreau is a goal scorer to worry about if you are the opposing goalie. He currently sits 2nd on his team with 16 goals. Like a lot of European players he is a fast skater who doesn’t play a real physical game. He is the photo typical minor leaguer. Spurts of talent around a package that doesn’t round out into a top player.

>Rating 1-10: 4.5

>Player Name: Larry LaCour >Date of Birth: May 16, 1983 >Handed: Left >Height: 6’3 >Weight: 223 lbs. >Country of Birth: Canada

>Talent Report: A JL roll player. He can play most all the positions except goalie. He is, mister Johnny on the Spot. He is not going to ever be a starter but might end up being good enough to be a spot starter who plays maybe 10 games a year producing 5 goals.

>Rating 1-10: 4

>Player Name: Luc Morin >Date of Birth: January 29, 1983 >Handed: Left >Height: 5’10 >Weight: 176 lbs. >Country of Birth: America

>Talent Report: He has played in no games this year. There are three reasons for his lack of playing time. One he is not a sure enough skater to be on the ice in a game. Two, he is a defensive liability when he is on the ice. The third reason for him never playing is that he can’t control the puck at all. He can not skate with or without the puck.

>Rating 1-10: 1.5

>Player Name: John Epp >Date of Birth: March 2, 1985 >Handed: Left >Height: 5’11 >Weight: 197 lbs. >Country of Birth: America

>Talent Report: He is currently the 3rd leading scorer on this team, which is offensively retarded. Nothing against this team but the level of talent is very low. He really can’t shot for a lick. His 10 goals are mostly lucky. His one up side is the passing skills. He is a team leader in passing. He could make this league as a reserve but not to likely.

Rating 1-10: 4

>Player Name: Brian Wright >Date of Birth: July 7, 1986 >Handed: Right >Height: 6’4 >Weight: 237 lbs. >Country of Birth: Canada

>Talent Report: This is one huge kid and at 16 he is only going to get bigger. Due to his lack of playing time a real good assessment of his offensive talents but from what I have seen in the practies he is fast, strong, and the hardest hitter on this team. He will be a star if he can prove that he has the offensive ability.

>Rating 1-10: 4.5

>Player Name: Martin Gravel >Date of Birth: October 19, 1984 >Handed: Right >Height: 6’3 >Weight: 226 lbs. >Country of Birth: America

>Talent Report: He knows the game of hockey he just not that good at it yet. He should round out into a player to watch in about 3 years. Right now he is a minor leaguer to be.

>Rating 1-10: 4

>Player Name: John Richard >Date of Birth: December 15, 1982 >Handed: Left >Height: 5’8 >Weight: 200 lbs. >Country of Birth: America

>Talent Report: A solid player to be. He is a 2nd rounder as he is right now. He could end up being a starter in this league. For now he is going to be a minor leaguer. He knows his game. He passes and shots with equal skill. He also knows how to hit he just isn’t that hard of a hitter, but when he gets a little faster he should make bone jarring hits.

>Rating 1-10: 5.5

>Player Name: Chris Lauzon >Date of Birth: December 28, 1986 >Handed: Right >Height: 5’9 >Weight: 178 lbs. >Country of Birth: Canada

>Talent Report: Being so young he has a rather large up side, but doesn’t have the skills to make it here in the JL yet. It is not recommended that he go into the draft or even consider it.

>Rating 1-10: 1.5

>Player Name: Marek Benysek >Date of Birth: May 15, 1985 >Handed: Left >Height: 6’5 >Weight: 205 lbs. >Country of Birth: Yugoslavia

>Talent Report: Marek is a half decent prospect. He is not in a good position to blossom though. He should be playing more so he an round out his skills. He is fast, strong, but not very hokey savvy. He has the skills he just needs to learn some more to become a good player.

>Rating 1-10: 3.5

>Player Name: Igor Tvrdik >Date of Birth: June 10, 1983 >Handed: Right >Height: 6’5 >Weight: 240 lbs. >Country of Birth: Russia

>Talent Report: He has the size to be a real problem for other teams. At 6’5 240, he is a monster. He is missing some real important things in his skill package though. He is not the surest of skater. He is not what you would all a offensive talent. If he learns to shot the puck well and not be such a fool skating wise then he could round out into a 4th line player. He doesn’t get the playing time he should because of his lack of skating ability. I think he could become a presence in this league.

>Rating 1-10: 4

>Player Name: Chris Leclerc >Date of Birth: August 1, 1985 >Handed: Right >Height: 5’11 >Weight: 199 lbs. >Country of Birth: Canada

>Talent Report: The third leading scorer on his JL league team makes him an asset that might turn out into a goose egg since his JL team is one of the worst in the league. He has the talent to make it in our league but he is not as confident in himself as he should be. This leads to many blow opportunities and not enough scoring. He is not a real physical player.

>Rating 1-10: 5

>Player Name: Cadrin Belliveau >Date of Birth: June 2, 1984 >Handed: Right >Height: 5’9 >Weight: 201 lbs. >Country of Birth: Canada

>Talent Report: An excellent defensive D-man. He knows how to read the play very well. He has an unusually long stick which he uses very well on the for check. His offensive game is none existent. He is more of a back up then a starter.

>Rating 1-10: 3.5

>Player Name: Dmitri Martynyuk >Date of Birth: July 14, 1984 >Handed: Left >Height: 5’9 >Weight: 189 lbs. >Country of Birth: Denmark

>Talent Report: He is an average defensive player with some touch on offense but his real talent is along the boards where he is a beast. He uses his small frame to get in underneath players to take the puck out of the corner during cycles. He should round out into a rather nice player.

>Rating 1-10: 4

>Player Name: Sacha Sundblad >Date of Birth: January 19, 1985 >Handed: Right >Height: 6’0 >Weight: 214 lbs. >Country of Birth: Romania

>Talent Report: Sacha is one of the better D-Men in the JL. He knows how to play the puck. He can take the puck out of his own zone as good as most forwards. He is a very skilled passer. He has 21 helpers on the year so far. I think that he should be a 1st or 2nd round defensman. He has excellent instincts that make him an excellent D-Man. He is also an amazing hitter.

>Rating 1-10: 6

>Player Name: Lyndon Royal >Date of Birth: March 9, 1985 >Handed: Right >Height: 6’2 >Weight: 218 lbs. >Country of Birth: England

>Talent Report: The second best D-Man on his team. He has some offensive ability but he wont be a player who will lead your power play. He is a better defensive D-Man than most. He an read the play rather well and is a good back checker. Should round out into a real nice player if he ever learns to use is body to hit.

>Rating 1-10: 5

>Player Name: Allain Nicholls >Date of Birth: March 9, 1985 >Handed: Left >Height: 5’7 >Weight: 176 lbs. >Country of Birth: Canada

>Talent Report: He is an average skater. Has some skill as a point man on the power play. He can occasionally make a big play but not really skilled enough to make it in the league.

>Rating 1-10: 3

>Player Name: Denis Poole >Date of Birth: May 16, 1983 >Handed: Right >Height: 6’2 >Weight: 214 lbs. >Country of Birth: America

>Talent Report: He has the size to be a good player in the league but is lacking in every offensive skill. He his never to touch the puck for it will result in a very bad thing. He cant take or receive passes. Shooting is right out of the question. He has some ability on defense but not really that much. He is a real physical player though.

>Rating 1-10: 2

>Player Name: Jonathan Laforest >Date of Birth: November 19, 1983 >Handed: Right >Height: 5’9 >Weight: 213 lbs. >Country of Birth: Poland

>Talent Report: This kid is a house. He is a 5’9, 213 pound monster on the ice. He will pound and pound on a player. He is a true fighter as well. He can fight with the best of them. He is not a player who will ever score. He is a pure defensive player.

>Rating 1-10: 4

>Player Name: Robert Pronovost >Date of Birth: November 6, 1984 >Handed: Left >Height: 5’7 >Weight: 180 lbs. >Country of Birth: France

>Talent Report: He is an excellent offensive player. He is currently for defensman in scoring with 25 points. He is also a real presence physically. Even though he is a rather small player he has learned that the only way he is going to make it is if he hits and does it all the time. He knows what it takes to make on any team. He should eventually be a 2nd or 3rd line D-Man.

>Rating 1-10: 5.5

>Player Name: Ben Bialowas >Date of Birth: December 19, 1984 >Handed: Right >Height: 6’1 >Weight: 219 lbs. >Country of Birth: Canada

>Talent Report: This is the photo typical D-Man in the league currently. He is a good passer who will add a few goals. He skates well but not real well. He is a real hard hitter and loves to do it. He is not quite ready to come right in and start but should make it soon enough. You will need time with this one.

>Rating 1-10: 5

>Player Name: Niklas Imhuser >Date of Birth: December 19, 1983 >Handed: Right >Height: 6’2 >Weight: 199 lbs. >Country of Birth: Germany

>Talent Report: He is the victim of no scoring. He would be a much better player if he could get some support. His GGA is a respectable 3.86 starting in all 41 games. Since he doesn’t get much offensive help. He could be a starter if he is put in the right situation.

>Rating 1-10: 5

>Player Name: Brian Armitage >Date of Birth: May 17, 1986 >Handed: Left >Height: 6’2 >Weight: 229 lbs. >Country of Birth: Denmark

>Talent Report: He is a very large goalie and it isn’t deceptive size, At 6’2, 229 he is going to be one of the larger goalies in the HHHL when he makes it (and he will). He is still young and he knows the position very well. He should stay in the JL for at least 2 more seasons though. He will start next season as a back up and the make the jump to starter. At this time he should be one of the better goalies out there. He can take over a game with his size, which is almost unheard of as a goalie. He just hogs the net. He has a fast glove but is a little week at the stick but will improve soon.

>Rating 1-10: 5

>Player Name: Robert Leonard >Date of Birth: June 19, 1986 >Handed: Left >Height: 5’11 >Weight: 207 lbs. >Country of Birth: America

>Talent Report: He is an ok goalie prospect. He will always be a backup due to his inability to make the big save. He is not very good against the penalty shot. Pull him immediately if you have him in and this happens. He has no chance at all of saving it. He still has some time to improve but I do think that he should lose is starting job in the JL to Armitage in two seasons, possibly less.

>Rating 1-10: 3

Moncton

>Players Name: Fedor Batyrshin >Date of Birth: December 8, 1983 >Handed: Right >Height: 6’3 >Weight: 204 lbs. >Country of Birth: Romania

>Talent Report: Fedor players very good defence for a center. He is ok at face offs. He also is not a sure skater. His shots ok and he is an above average passer. His main clame to fame is comming back on the back check and seems to know when to come back and when to stay in and forcheck.

>Players Name: Daniel Gorman >Date of Birth: March 2, 1985 >Handed: Right >Height: 6’2 >Weight: 221 lbs. >Country of Birth: America
