Lesson one: Positions

Ever wondered what the other players do on the field to make the team succsesful? find out now!: There are two categories of players on a team that come out at different times during the game they are: the offense, the deffense,.
The Offense : this part of the teams job is to move the ball up the field, and score points. The offense consists of: A Quater back, Running backs, Guards, tight end, tackles, center, and wide recievers.
The Deffense: This part of the teams job is to keep the opposing teams from scoring. The deffense consists of: Line backers, Deffensive backs, Deffensive ends, and Deffensive Tackles.
Lesson two: Equipment

What do they wear? and what does it do?

neck roll- A neck roll is a foam tube that protects the players neck.
shoulder pads - Are one of the most important pieces of equipment, they are made of a hard plastic shell lined with foam.
Elbow pads- protect the players elbows
Thigh pads- They may sound funny but it gives the player extra protection.
Cleats- Help keep their footing on grass fields,and when they play on aritficial turf the players wear a different type of shoes.
Jersey- It doesn't offer much protection, but it helps the other players distinguish who's on their team.
Helmet- They are made of a high-tech plastic shell that protects the players head when on the field.
Gloves- Linebackers wear these to protect their hands, and Recievers wear light weight gloves that give them a feel for the ball.
Football- The most important thing on the field, It's about 11 inches long, and 28 inches wide.
Lesson three: The field

what are all the lines on the field for? find out now!
5 yard line markers- There are 19 yard lines that divide the field into five yard segments.
Hash marks- Small sets of lines that run the length of the field in one yard-intervals.
50 yard line- the fifty yard line is the center of the field, and each team has defend their own half of the field.
End Line- Are boundary lines at the ends of the field. If a player runs past them, they are considered out of bounds.
Side line- Is the boundary that runs along each side of the field.
Goal line- Separates the end zone from the rest of the field, the offense has to cross this line to get a touchdown.
End zone- Located at both ends of the field, this is where they must score to get a touchdown.
Goal posts- they are 30 feet high and 18 feet apart, this is where the player tries to get a field goal through them. They are padded so the players don't hurt themselves if they run into it.
Field- The most important part, it is 100 yards long and 53 yards wide, this is where the game is played.

Referee-They're responsible for making sure everybody plays by the rules. When somebody doesn't, the referee pulls a yellow flag out and that tram gets a foul.
Broadcaster- His job is to describe what's happening on the field and help us all understand what's going on.
Director of Community and Alumni Relations- This person arranges the players appearances, works on the school programs, helps out sharities, and lends a hand with special events.
Head Athletic Trainer- They make sure the entire team and staff are healthy,their responsibilities are: treatment, prevention, and rehabilitaion of injuries. < font size=5> Now that you know all the rules, positions, equipment, and what the jobs are all for, go out their and become the next Brett Favre, or Priest Holmes!
