Duende Bespoke Couture offers handmade custom  leatherwear  in addition to its fabric clothing. All our leatherwear is made exclusively in England from the highest quality British hides and the quality is second to none.

(Duende CEO James T. Cheung with leather tailor Peter Botwright)

Our leather is tailored on our behalf by one of the leading leather tailors in the world who boasts over 20 years of experience working primarily for film and television where he has not only made leather clothing  but also on-screen costumes. His impressive credits include:

  • Indiana Jones (Designed and made Indy's jackets for all three movies)

  • Mission Impossible (Made Tom Cruise's black leather blazer)

  • Star Wars Episode 1: The Phantom Menace (various costumes and accessories)

  • Star Wars Episode 2: The Attack of the Clones (various costumes and accessories)

  • Aliens (Designed and made all leather jackets)

  • The 51st State (Various)

  • The Fifth Element (Responsible for various costumes and accessories)

  • James Bond (Various)

  • Memphis Belle (Designed and made all leather jackets)

  • Entrapment (Various including Sean Connery's jacket)

  • Hornblower (on ITV)

  • Eastenders (on BBC)

  • When you commission a jacket or coat from us you can be assured that you

will be in good company. From initial design concept through to final fitting

we will work with you to create the perfect garment.

We pride ourselves on only using the finest quality British hides that have been chromium tanned in Italy. Unlike cheaper imported hides which are only surface tanned (in effect 'spray painted') our hides are chromium tanned all the way through the skin resulting in superior colour retention and unsurpassed softness and durability. We firmly believe that our jackets are equal, if not superior, in quality to designer items costing ten times as much.

    The following leathers are available:

    • Super-soft Lambskin (nappa) -  Super-soft to the touch, light yet extremely tough. Features a smooth fine grain and a subtle sheen. Available in black, brown, green, blue, white, cream, tan, oxblood, cherry red, bright red. Other colours also available on request.

    • Sheepskin - Soft, thick and extremely warm. Exterior finish is similar to lambskin yet is also available with a sueded finish. Available with black, white or tan fleece

    • Lambstouch Cowhide - Similar in texture to lambskin yet is slightly less soft and substantially heavier but is more durable. Available in black, brown, tan. Other colours available on request.

    • Antiqued Cowhide - Soft to the touch with a noticeable grain. The surface has been treated to simulate antique, worn leather and will continue to age and weather, looking better over time. Brown only

    • Regular Cowhide - Tough and supple with a noticeable heavy grain. Black, brown, tan. Other colours available on request.

    • Goatskin - The toughest leather available: light, soft and with a visible grain, this leather is virtually bulletproof! Black or Brown
